I have not been that well lately (M.E.) but have stayed the same weight more or less. OH is working away so I'll have to be careful not to snack in the evenings. Knitting wooligan squares has helped occupy my hands:cool:.
Will try to lose some this week.

Afternoon one and all ...got here eventually :D

Right i will post a proper one in a moment..but i just wanted to post a recipe i have just done for the 1st time....
NOW..im sorry but its bl**dy lovely...but i don't want anyone telling me off if they make it and can't resist :p
So those of a weak disposition..please skip to the next post :rotfl:
Don't know why but i was thinking of you Taplady when i was making em ;)
if you like carrot/passion cake you will love this... and they would be great to shove in the lunch boxes
IM GOING TO WORK OUT THE CALS LATER (NOT SURE THAT I REALLY WANT TO KNOW :p)

    COURGETTE TEA BREAD
    pre-heat oven to 180c/350f/gas 4
grease a 2lb loaf tin and bottom line with greaseproof paper - make it so it comes up the narrow edges so you can use it to lift it out ;)
    1. 1 large egg
    2. 125ml sunflower oil
    3. 175g courgettes -trimmed and grated (on large holes)
    4. 150g wholewheat flour -i used ordinary
    5. 1/2tsp baking powder
    6. 1tsp bicarb
    7. 1tsp ground cinnamon
    8. 175g soft dark brown sugar
    9. 75g sultanas
    10. 3oz walnuts chopped
    • tip courgettes and all dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix well
    • whisk egg into the oil and pour into dry goods
    • mix to a thick batter and pour in tin
    • shove in oven for about 1 hr or until a skewer comes out clean..cool in tin for 10 mins before turning out to cool
How is THAT for a method? :j ...chuck it in, stir it round..job done :D
when cutting you will need a really sharp knife as its lovely n sticky and This will keep in a tin for 1 week.... or can be frozen.

I have been good and made 38 mini muffins and they took about 15 mins a batch and if you let them stand for a few seconds in the tin they firm up and are easier to remove :D and they don't stick to the papers either:D
Im going to wait and let hubby try if he likes em(not much of a cake man) and then they are off in the freezer so i can have one when i need something sweet ;)

Good Afternoon Ladies (and Gents if there are any lurking!)

Its a lovely day here in Sunny Redcar, which i am v pleased about as i spent most of the wkend planting vegetable seeds! (well i told dh where to put the seeds!)

I have planted, cucumbers, courgettes, tomatoes, salad leaves, rocket, and also popped some strawberrys plants in a hanging basket to see how they go so the sunshine is doing them some good!!

i have also been clearing my fridge and cupboards from anything that contains aspartame and acesulfame K - evil things they are:mad: (although i will miss diet coke!) , dh is very pleased though!

I really must get my a**e in gear this month, STS the same for last 4 weeks which is ok as at least i aint putting anymore weight on but i NEED to lose some for my hols!!! think i am going to go and get a new exercise dvd tomorrow - any recommendations anyone??

    food today -

B - toast and small bowl cereal
L - chicken and soft cheese wrap

T - prob a wrap again as they need using and so does the chicken!!

congrats to all losers and  hello to any newbies!!

I love carrot cake so maybe should give it a try. DD thinks it is evil/perverted thing to do, putting veg in a cake!

Today I'm back at work. Am trying hard now.
I don't have scales yet, so don't know where I'm starting from.

Breakfast: Grapefruit ...have 3 tins in the cupboard from when Mum and Dad had it when they were visiting. They have OJ now, so think I will use them up and make a space. Porridge. Experimenting.... used 25g oats instead of 30. thought I shouldn't starve as it was early lunch today and also had grapefruit.

    Coffee. Nothing to eat

Lunch: Hummus (HM, need to work out what it has in it, cals wise), cucumber the only veg I could find, so had a pk of those little melba toasts. End of a longley farm yog with sp of honey and one of granola.

It's only 3.30 and I'm starting to feel peckish. WIll have to get an apple or something and chew it 32 times.

Dinner, not sure, maybe burger and wedges. Could do with getting some veg or something really, nothing much in in the way of salad.

Back to sewing in a couple of minutes, that will be a good distraction. have a glass of fizzy water here, but maybe a cuppa would be a good idea.

Ok ladies n gents im back to post properly now :D

Haven't had time to get on all day..been busy busy busy :D
went shopping 1st thing this morning and got some super bargains :T
i got 3 packs of steaks whoopsed... 28 day hung and looking lovely..2 packs had 4 huge fillets in each and the other 2 massive neck steaks in...in total over 2.5 kilo of steaks and i don't know what happened at the check out as all 3 were charged then further down 2 were deducted  so i got the lot for €5.56 -about £4.50  and have worked out that i have at least 24 portions there... the fillets will get cut in half and then into strips to do tortilla wraps and things like that and the 2 huge steaks will be making steak pies of some description with lots of veggies in :D ooh or might turn 1 into a curry mmmmm ..ooooh i like supermarket blunders i do :p

also picked up a couple of "food jugs".. like a short fat flask but when you open it there are 3 seperate pots inside.. 1 little one holding 177ml and 2 holding 350ml each... down to €2..so i grabbed 2... would be ideal for those with little ones to pack up..pasta salad and fruit salad in the bigger ones and yog or dip in the little one . Im thinking of packing hubbies fillings for his tortillas in them so he can put them together at work so they are nice and fresh ;) ..bet hubby would rather i make em for him:rotfl: . I grabbed 1 red and 1 yellow and im now trying to convince myself NOT to fetch any more:p

Anyway..back to the job in hand
    • brekkie - Had 1 weetabix -decided i need to shrink my portions back down again :o
    • got that wrapped up cooking i missed lunch so had 2 mini courgette muffins
    • dinner for me is courgette quiche and salad -hubby bolognaise
Made the muffins, a courgette quiche and hubbies bolognaise (with courgettes in :rotfl: ) and have the bread in the tin rising... didn't get to make a couple of batches of tortillas for the freezer cos im Knick knack nooed :D

Newlywed... glad you are ok...if a bit shaken. I really don't enjoy driving -far too many wazzacks on the roads  . I haven't even taken my BFG test for out here.... i either walk or mob hubby when he is in :rotfl: ... but i will drive again when we come back to the UK..cos there i know i understand the road signs ;)

Pebbles.. i have just had my last ickle bottle of diet coke... a new one with green tea in..and its rather nice... but now im back onto water -until i find something that A) isn't full of rubbish B) isn't too sweet oh and C) that doesn't cost a fortune :rotfl:

M.E -nice to see you back..and well done on not gaining anything whilst you have been poorly :T ..that must take some will power

Bobbadog... leffe beer  im not much of a drinker but that is rather nice... have you ever tried the raspberry beer? think its called framboise or something..freezing cold on a summers day :p . My brother got me a couple of other fruit bers to try once..very nice indeed

Esthomizzy.... just write off the weekend, forget about it and start a fresh.. a couple of days can't do much damage ;)

Kentishmaid... YEP...I have figured that the only thing i can do to try and help myself is lose weight and get as many vitamins n minerals into me as i need -not much i can do about the "inside bits" :rotfl: .. Im 36 and hubby 44 this year.. so I have said that im giving it until xmas to shift as much as i can and get as fit as i can then we are going to drop ourselves on the doctors again and see what they can do. It doesn't help that we have moved again because it means new doctors and start again
Still it will either happen or it won't.. Im quite glad that im very matter of fact about this kind of thing ..so won't fall to pieces if it doesn't happen..

Taplady.. glad its not just me who gets thrown when hubby is about... i can't win.. if he is under my feet my routine is out the window and if he is away i can't be diddled to cook for just me :rotfl:
Glad cake was nice today ;) .. I wouldn't have thought of courgettes either but i saw a piccie and it convinced me...and im so glad it did ;)

Jackie_w.. hope you had a good time, a couple of days away probably did you the world of good :T

Cheerfulness.. i was the same when i had done yesterday... ached from head to toe... mind im not much better having fetched the shopping and then standing in the kitchen for yonks earlier :rotfl: Tonight i am having a very long hot soak in peachy bubbles :T . Still at least we are all getting lots done .

Right after all that blathering im gonna get of and collapse for 10 mins :D
have a great afternoon all and hello to anyone i have missed:D

All my good intentions about gardening these last couple of days scuppered. Got Bride napped:D . Seen more white dresses in last couple of weeks than in all my life before! Yesterday my bridezilla was over the moon with the most beautiful dress so I paid £50 deposit (thank god not half the cost of dress). This morning, not sure, is it A/ too long a train B/ not fitted enough (it wasn't even her size) C/ will the train go down the narrow church aisle. Give me strength. So more trying on today but nothing came close to 'the dress'. So the bridesmaid is coming up from Bristol and they will look around together, thank heavens.

Must dash round with the mower in a minute but first congrats to you fantastic losers :T . Nothing to report on the food front, just plodding on as usual. Tomorrow I'll be helping out with the councils countryside services on a local beach so bet the weather turns, you know who to blame:eek: !!

Keep up the good work girls, and I'll be glued to Gok and Diets time forgot tonight for inspiration.
