Rockie - what are the SW Tortilla chips?
Soften lasagne sheets in boiling water - smartprice or value ones work best, place on a baking sheet and spray with frylight then bake in a really HOT oven - I turn mine up to 240/250 and bake until brown. They only take a few minutes - don't leave them or they'll burn! When cool break them into smaller pieces, I sprinkle them with a little salt or you can sprinkle with chill powder before baking if you wan't hot ones
Serve with salsa (or I eat them on their own) Free on a green day and really good for nibbles with a glass or two on a Friday/Saturday night!!
I've just made a pile, they keep for a few days in a tupperware box.0 -
Hello everyone and congrats to this week's losers!:T
Bloomin' cold here today..... I had every intention of sorting the shed out this afternoon but after getting caught in a sudden hail shower on my way back from town this morning (no hood on coat and no free hands to hold brolly!) I decided a lazy afternoon with my book was much more appealing so that's exactly what I've had! The shed's not going anywhere, it can wait.....
Not been too bad food wise this week apart from two pieces of birthday cake in work on Thursday..... why does everyone always have to bring in more than enough, and why do I never have to have my arm twisted very hard when I'm offered one of the leftovers?:D
Today I've had..
B - weetabix (getting bored with porridge)
L - veg soup, roll
D - sweet and sour chicken, small dollop of rice
No snacks so far but I have got a fry's turkish delight waiting for me in the fridge for later..... haven't had one of those for years but saw someone eating one the other day and thought oooooh!
Have a nice evening!0 -

Great link MRSMC - I particularly liked the recipe for 'massaged kale salad.'
Just love that name. Even more so when I saw that she added blood oranges although I still can't find one to buy for love nor money. Where do you all get them from? Drawn a total blank even at Tesco's.
Lovely to see you back again prudent and very sorry to hear you've had a sad time of it.
Mum and dad and DS1 home again. :T I got the flight times wrong so wasn't around to pick DS1 up from parents.. bad mother! In the end we rushed their and treated all to takeway so I've not had my lovely new recipe but a few chips and some chicken. Have to confess it was lovely.
Actually I ate pretty well apart from that as there was so much dashing around today so I'll let it pass.

Morning folks,
Feeling bit ick this morningI'm wondering if its because I had that takeaway last night. I didn't eat much really but I remember it used to give me an icky stomach the next day. That will teach me to be more organized in future.
Am totally envious that you have your peppers up now, MRSMC. I've rushed over to mine...(as if magically mine will have worked too) but nothing, not a sausage! They will NOT beat me!
Ohh turkish delight, Scrummy. I love the Fry's one. Not had that for ages.
Food today:
Boiled duck egg with wml bread fingers.
Not sure about lunch yet
Roast chicken, roasties, savoy cabbage, carrots, stuffing, gravy
Snacks - mandarins, pears
Loved going to the farmers market and couldn't resist the beautiful turquoise duck eggs. They were always a childhood treat after we'd been to the farmers auctions. Wish I could go to one of those now.
Gots lots of luscious veg too so I'll be well fixed for my healthy meals this week. Just wish I'd not spent so much of my GC budget.
Think I'll have another coffee and mosey round the threads. Catch up with you all later.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Cheerfulness
Don't know how you have yours planted but i have mine in empty yogurt pots on a tray in the spare bedroom windowsill and they were doing nothing..so last night i stuck a clear plastic lid on top -the top off a grape tub i thinkas i know they like damp n very warm (thought being over the radiator would have been enough  ) an low and behold they peeped through over night
the ones i just tipped out of a pepper in the fridge look strongest :j
ohhh and forgot..over night the leeks have started to pop through and the aubergines too .
Have just sat on the back step and started off a couple more crystal apple cucumbers, melons and planted some more kidney beans in loo roll tubes... i have bags of "recycling" stuff in the basement that im keeping for growing again next year too...loo rolls, plastic milk bottles, pop bottles tubs from the carrots etc
feels like when i was a kid and school used to ask you to bring in boxes n stuff to make things out of :rotfl:
right off to ring my mum and pick her brains
have a good one everyone.. and hope the Icky feeling passes soon cheerfulness... amazing how much a take away can upset your system when it has got used to simple home cooking isn't it !!!-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hello
I’ve not posted on this thread before, heard about it from Mrs M mentioning it on the Grocery Challenge thread  so thought I’d pop over and hope it’s ok to join in?
I’ve been struggling to lose the last bit of my baby weight, she’ll be 3 in August so am I allowed to still call it baby weight  ? I put on almost 5 stone during pregnancy and I lost the first 4 fairly easily but the last stone has eluded me. TBH I’d be happy losing 10 lb so that’d be good for a start.
I know the kinds of things I need to do:
1. Stop snacking on rubbish (especially in the evenings)
2. Reduce portion sizes
3. Eat healthy regular meals
4. Post on a thread like this, hoping it will keep me motivated. Posting on the GC thread has helped me spend less so why not weigh less too.
I already cook from scratch, OH and I either go out or get a takeaway in once a week. I won’t not go out but OH can just get a takeaway for himself (never too bothered with takeaways anyway).
So today looks like;
B fruit smoothie
L veg soup & wholemeal pitta bread
D HM pizza (will make a small one for me and load it with loadsa peppers, onions and less on the cheese
Might go out for a walk if the weather improves

Hi everyone,
just posting my eating plan for today
Bf 2 slices of toast & pate
Lunch salad & cheese sandwich
Dinner tuna steak marinaded in soy sauce & coriander with salad & cottage cheese.
If i get hungry later i`ll have another slice of toast with a tin of tuna, always works as a filler upper and is nice and light.
I just got weighed and am 15st 10 so will start watching the scales from now on.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Welcome Girl least likely to, don't like to admit it but I'm also trying to get back to pre baby weight, but my little darling is 17:eek: !!! Lost it all no probs after first 4 but the fifth just stuck.
toniwoty2009, showed my DD your post when she came over yesterday and announced she'd been looking at wedding dresses. She thought she'd only start looking next year and had a shock to be told there's a six month wait after placing the order. Her wedding is booked for 12/9/09, just after yours:D . So off we both went to Chester for a mammoth dress trying on session. When she appeared to show me the dresses my jaw nearly hit the floor she looked so beautiful, sniffle, sniffle, where's the hanky? Oh god am I turning into a drippy mother of the bride. We now know the style which she likes and looks gorgious in but haven't put down a deposit yet as we thought we'd also try shops closer to home. So glad you have found your perfect gown.
DH has also joined me trying to lose the 'post baby blubber':rotfl: . He's got a big battle on his hands with about half his body weight to shift, bless him. We were both so much slimmer when we met. Anyway he's got off to a flying start with a 6lb loss on his first week and a massive 10lb loss today :T :T . His goal is to be under 20st by the end of the year. It would be so nice to be able to buy him a suit off the peg for DD's wedding. I worry more about his weight than mine because he has a stressful job and all his family are big and on blood pressure tablets.
Enjoy the rest of the day folks. Off now to check on tinypoles in the pond, they are definately emerging from their little eggs."It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0
