I've never ever tried mushy peas!! Must give them a go.
I was good today except I've caved in and tried a new recipe for brioche...I love baking and I couldn't resist trying out this new method any longer. It'll only be ready tomorrow though and I figured if I only had a little it would be OK.
My toddler had 3 huge meltdowns - all in public of course - in the space of 3 hrs this afternoon. And he freaked out his baby brother who promptly joined in.
Normally even just one meltdown would have sent me hunting for comfort food but I felt really in control and didn't get all stressed about it. :T My poor little one got to a point he was so upset he didn't know what to do with himself. A big cuddle and lots of distraction worked ... at least a little!
Jane, I'm so sorry things are so rough. Sending lots of peace your way...

Aw Jane,
Im so sorry you are havin such a hard time with DD1.
I aint a mum myself , and its only really been my mum n me since my dad died when i was 11 (i am 28 now) so i never really rebelled or anything. ( i make up for it in my cheekiness to her now though)
however, i have half siblings to contend with. and 1 of them apparently (i dont remember it all as i was too young) has been a nightmare, we are not talking at the moment, but i do remeber when i was little and she used to babysit me that she was awful to me as remind me that we weren't 'proper' sisters!
i remember all the stress that she caused my mum (and still does) and i vowed i would never do the same. my mum has always been there for her but it seems she is determined to do her own self destruct course, regardless of any advice that she is given. she positively hates me for 'taking her mum away from her dad, (my mum left her ex oh for my dad, but to be fair he nearly killed her). In cases like that, you cant be there for when she need you. i bet that you are a fab mum, unfortunately kids dont always realise that til they are older
(((hugs)))
hope it works out, if not, we are all here for you xxxPlease be nice to all moneysavers!

Hi again all
home from work now and i`m starving, will update on yesterday though as i was very good until later on.
Bf was toast
Lunch was tortillas ( same filling as yesterday)
Dinner was tomato dahl.
My downfall was about 1am when i succumbed to a pint of gin and tonic and meatball and salami sandwiches.:o
Today has been good so far.
BF toast
Lunch tortillas again ( i`m addicted)
Dinner Meatballs and noodles.
I`m now starving and will be on my 3rd gin in about 2 minutes.
If i didn`t have to work shifts i`d be fine also if i could stay constantly on the same shift i`d be fine but my body clock is always about 4 days behind.:wall:
Never mind, it`ll get sorted eventually
Catch up with you all tomorrow when hopefully i`ve a bit more time.

Morning all,
Feel for you recovering - and you're doing a super job of trying to keep control of both your eating and the home front situation.
I also thought a stint staying with OH might do her some good (and him), particularly if his partner would be step-monster. Bet it would kill to hand her over tho. What to do, ay?
Maybe give DD2 more attention so DD1 isn't feeling like she's ruling the roost. I'd certainly withdraw favours while she's acting up.
Big well dones to lil-miss, Rose wood and Marie for your losses this week. :T :T :T
Well by the skin of my teeth I have had a little loss this week.. 1/4 lbbut its a loss isn't it girls.
I don't deserve it... not after eating 3 main meal portions one day and all those crackers before 'crackerwatch'.. plus a few after.
Still, I obviously recovered from it and it does mean I can properly change my siggy to say that I have lost 3 stone now. :j :j
I know this will seem a bit sappy but last night when I was in Morrisons I was bent over the tomatoes having a sort through, as you do, when I felt DH's arms go round me. He whispered in my ear that I looked so much slimmer in my jeans (had them 5 yrs but only got in this week) and I was looking really good. Then he gave me a kiss and said he thought I was great.
Apart from annoying all the other shoppers waiting on the tommies, it was a lovely moment. Now I'm well aware that I'm still over 19st and theres a touch of rose coloured glasses going on there, but it really worked its magic and now I'm set to push ahead again this week.
So much menu planning went on yesterday. Today I'm trying a new dish which sounds lovely and I'm going to try and exercise more. I need 'bingo arms' exercises too and haven't a clue where to look on internet for help. They use abrevs that I haven't go a clue about.I know what abs means but thats about it...I'm so far out the loop with exercise.
Away to farmers market soon to see how much overpriced veg is on sale. I do want some lovely fresh eggs, if I can distinguish between the stalls selling those and the rip offs  and I want to find my one cheap little farmer who I was loyal to till the weather got nippy.
Catch up with you all later and keep plodding everyone...especially recovering. We're all thinking of you girl, if you can survive this you'll survive anything. Teenagers..arghhhh!

Oops forgot my food for today:
Hazelnut and praline yoghurt (reduced last night and looks yummy:drool: )
Ham salad sandwich (must cook ham first  )
Sweet potatoes filled with bacon, onion, cheese and creme freiche
Also got to knock up a HM pizza for DS1 as he arrives home this evening. :j Oh and I promised them all a chocolate tart which I may have a sliver of, although I'd rather have something savoury I think.
Right definitely off now for my morning coffee OH has just popped in front of me. Sees you all later.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Morning all,
Cheerfulness well done you are such a consistant loser:T
The bingo wing bit of your arms are caused by flabby lazy triceps- I know because I've got them:o. My daughter is an athlete and hints that I would benefit from some tricep dips etc:rolleyes: Anyway I was too scared for my WI yesterday but I did it today and have STS- quite suprised by that but inspired:D I'm going to have a long walk today then hopefully get in the garden which has been suffering from neglect for a couple of years
Not to sure about food yet but I do have some chicken stock and scraps in the freezer and want to make chicken soup with rice. Any particular rice? and do I sling it in with the veg?
Have a good weekend peeps0 -
I haven't lost anything this week, but I haven't gained either. I had a few problems in the week which were a bit stressful. I had to deal with them on my own as dh is away at sea, but they're sorted out now, and I'm quite proud of myself for the way I handled things.
I have decided that from today I will only be eating when I am very hungry, and when I am hungry I will only be eating food that is good for me. I do Weightwatchers points, which is handy, but it does mean that the junk food can creep in without you really noticing.
The junk food is now banned (I have emptied the cupboards of sweeties and biscuits and put them in a bag to take to work on Monday).
Take care all of you, and good luck with your weight losses.0 -
Morning everyone,
just got a few minutes so thought i`d pop back on with todays meals.
BF pate on toast
Lunch tortillas
Dinner paella & prawns
If i`m hungry later my snack will be a slice of tuna on toast and NOT the salami and cheese sandwich i ended up with in the early hours (again)
I got weighed two days ago and wouldn`t be surprised if i`ve put weight on but i`m not going to get on the scales again for a few days as that will give me a bit more of a chance.
I think i need to find low cal healthy snacks for when i get the munchies and then i won`t feel guilty in the mornings i need to eat something later on or i can`t sleep though.
A huge WELL DONE to those of you who are losing *goes green with envy*
Cheerfulness - congrats on getting to the three stone mark!
Catch up with you all later

Hello everyone - thanks for your kind thoughts re: DD1. She returned home in the middle of the night and then got up this morning for her Saturday job in Boots and was surprised to find that I wouldn't give her a lift...
Anyway - I ate so much toast last night that I feel really sluggish this morning, so I am going to try and eat as carb-light as possible today. My ankles are all puffy and that is a sure sign that I have overdone the carbs.
Planned food for today:
Breakfast - nothing as feel proper full from last night still
lunch - tuna and salad (no bread!)
dinner - Delia's five ways chilli (no rice or bread)
desserts and snacks - sugar free jelly, strawberries, cottage cheese and pineapple.
Off to take laundry to launderette to dry it (it's a terrible drying day here) and to take DD2 to tennis and on to shops for bits.
hope you are all having a good weekend.
Well done to all the losers and STSers!Jane
