Well done MRSMC :T :T you'll soon be in the '14 somethings' :D

Talking about peppers.. my chilli peppers are doing nothing either. I've not grown these before but they are the only thing thats not come up yet, little blighters!

I might have another trek through some cookery books today because I haven't planned the months menus this time round and I'm missing it. I seem to be a bit aimless with the meals, or writing out recipes and not getting to make them because I'm disorganised with ingredients.
Think I shall put that right this weekend.

    Food today:
    Readybrek
Foiled baked corn on cob with herby butter & slice wml bread/butter
HM sausage, dry fried egg, mushrooms, grilled herby tomatoes.

Snacks - orange fool, mandarins and apples.

Pretty much stuck to my foods yesterday with exception of the crackers, altho 2 were just ritz type.
Plan to get stuck into a load of things today to keep me busy and DH has promised he will be home at a decent time and definitely tell them no working this weekend! I've a farmers market to go to tomorrow so they can nannas!

Hope you all have a lovely Friday and catch up with you all later.

Quickly nipped back to say WELL DONE ROCKIE! :T :T

De-lurking to post a super yummy recipe:
    Gorgeous Chorizo Pasta

Fry some mushrooms and peppers in a spray of oil mister.
    Add some thinly sliced chorizo.
Add some good quality passata (or make your own by sweating 2 chopped celery sticks, 1 chopped carrot and 1 red onion. Add 2 tins of chopped tomatoes. Simmer for 30mins. Puree in blender)
Once all is heated up mix into some pasta quills cooked al dente.

    Absolutely gorgeous! :p:p

Also wanted to add that buying a titanium frying pan has changed my life: hxxp://www.richmondcookshop.co.uk/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=50&products_id=1437

I didn't buy a SKK brand one and I didn't buy it online but it was the same price anyway. You really can fry an egg in it without any grease whatsoever. Expensive but worth it IMHO.

  • hello everyone - well done to Mrs M, Taplady, Rockie and all other losers this week! I get weighed on Monday but am not too hopeful.....

I have had a really bad couple of days with DD1 - she went out on Tuesday evening and only re-appeared this morning at 8am. In the intervening time we have been ringing and ringing but she wouldn't answer her mobile - the bf did answer his but said she wasn't there (but I knew he was lying) and when her Dad went to the bf's house (student house so no parents there) they wouldn't let him in and he ended up trying to kick the door in which caused ructions with neighbours in the street - it has made me feel really really depressed, particularly as she breezed in this morning and gave me the heighth of abuse when I asked what was going on. I haven't slept properly for three nights and feel like I am made of lead - I can't be bothered to do anything, and had to get exOH to come and take DD2 into school (late) this morning because I couldn't stop crying long enough to get her ready.

Anyway sorry for the long rant - I haven't been too bad food wise but have picked at rubbish so today I need to refocus and get back to it. Planned food for today is:

    Breakfast - milky coffee
lunch - large salad with tuna and a cup of soup
dinner - fish bake and hm braised red cabbage (from freezer)
snacks - sugar free jelly, apple, frozen banana

BTW yesterday I had some sirloin steak which I bought in Aldi - it was revolting! I have never bought meat in aldi before but have seen good reports on the OS board - has anyone else found it to be horrible - it was all tough and tasted weird.

hope you are all having a good day - I am just going to get stuck into the washing and ironing.

Taplady - I make a nice tuna pasta bake with just pasta, condensed mushroom soup mixed with skimmed milk and a tbs of flour, crushed crackerbread and parmesan cheese and tuna. I just mix the soup with equal quantities of skimmed milk and whisk in the flour and a little seasoning, stir it into cooked pasta with drained tuna and top with crushed crackerbread mixed with parmesan cheese and black pepper. Bake for 35 minutes and it is yummy!

Oh dear Jane- your DD1 does seem to be going through a 'me' stage, really inconsiderate and selfish. I hate not knowing where my girls are drives me mad! Hopefully she will snap out of it soon, so stop crying and do something nice for you instead. I'm sending you a hug I think you need one.
Well done to all the losers- today is my weigh in day too but I'm passing this week  With my sisters wedding last weekend and then a trip to Manchester this week I'm just hoping for a STS next Friday:think:
    B- Porridge
L- ham roll apple and orange
    D- Chicken roasties and salad

    I'm quite quite rubbish today!

OH, myself and two friends are off on Holiday tomorrow to rural France... the fridge is nice and bare (no waste at all!) but our diet today is a bit poor!

    B: cheese and pickle roll
L: pub (work lunch) - probably chicken sandwhich and salad
D: SHOP BROUGHT (argh argh argh) frozen pizza (Lidl, looks quite nice though)

We're leaving at 4am tomorrow, so I wish you all a happy and healthy week! xx

RECOVERING Big hugs to you. Hopefully she wont be long in coming to her senses and realise that she has to be responsible, if she wants to be taken responsibly. I get soo angry when I hear of kids being like this cos my younger sister was like that, and I seen what my Mum had to go through with her. Im afraid I had had enough, so I went up to the park where she was hanging with all her friends (drinking and smoking stuff), and basically kicked the carp out of her. I told her every time she was going to give my mum and dad grief she would get it off me, and eventually (not right away) she stopped. Whether it had anything to do with me or she just decided to grow up well, I dont know. She has a daughter of her own now, and many times Ive heard her say "if she turns into the sort of teenager I was, I will lock her up" .

Anyway, you keep your chin up. We are all here if you need to vent.
Big hugs again to you ((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Anyway, yesterday I was good. Although I didnt have my vegetable curry. By the time I got home, I had to drop some stuff (well booze actually) :p off at In Laws, as us girls are going away next weekend. Then I had to take niece home, then I had to go and pick up boys from my Mums, however, DS#2, fell over a cushion and smacked his eye off the corner of the table. I had to take him to hospital because I thought he was going to have to get stitches, but, hes okay, cut looked much worse that it was. Poor wee soul, hes got a black eye now. So by the time I got home it was 7pm, so, we had a chicken curry frome the local chinese. I only had a small amount on a small plate with a large glass of diluting juice, then I had a glass of Rose, and a cup of tea. NO CHOCOLATE YESTERDAY:j :j :j .

Today, I have also been good.

Breakfast : last of the crunchy nut cornflakes, cup of tea

Snack : Chunky Kit kat with a large coffee

Lunch: 2 cracker breads, 2 oat cakes with a laughing cow light triangle (shared between the 4), 2 kiwi fruits, and a large coffee.

Dinner will be the vegetable curry with the pita breads.

AND I did weigh myself this morning and I lost that 0.5lbs that I put on last week:j :j .

Anyway, I must be off and get some work done.

    Jackie xx

    Afternoon all

Just got back from fetching some more compost and 5 more long troughs :D
Hubby nipped in the naffi and came out weilding the new WW and SW mags :j oh and 2 bottles of sugar free lemonade for me :j .... I have had a quick flick through and have spotted some yummy looking stuff...will have a proper rummage later and report back with any "too good to miss finds";)

Well i had my smoked mackrel and sweet potato slices for lunch... i enjoyed it but don't think i will be having the mackrel again in a hurry.... a bit to strong tasting for me now days  ..plus its "repeating" on me...not nice

Haven't quite decided on dinner now.. started swinging between feta salad n potatoes or frittata with feta and veggies in and salad.... will decide...eventually...:p

well done on the losses Jackie_W and rockie :j haven't missed anyone else have i?

Cheerfulness... my peppers are being little swines... but i WILL win if it takes forever ;) .
I think we must be on a similar wavelength as i have had a few days of not really deciding what im doing for meals until the last minute... got to stop it as i like to know what im having and when im having it..well within reason... means you can plan in plenty of your fave foods ;)

Toniwoty...hope you have had fun looking at all the dresses... i spotted my dress the day after i got engaged..went in the shop and put a deposit down without even trying it on..i just knew it was the one... i was glad too as i hate trying on normal clothes when i shop..so the thought of dragging meringues over my head really didn't appeal to me :rotfl:
I bet you have come away from the shops full of extra determination and enthusiasm for the weight loss :T -nowt so encouraging as folks seeing you in your undies trying big frocks on is there :rotfl:

Recovering.. you must have the patience of a saint because i would have blown a gasget by now with DD.... in fact i would probably deposited all her clothes outside the boyfriends place ;) ... saversarn is right... you need to make time for yourself and treat yourself and let the selfish madam stew...god i sound like my mother :rotfl:
Hope this stage passes soon... i was a moody c*w as a teenager but would never have dared not come home  ... my mum n dad never raised their hand to me (they must have had great restraint :p ) but i still wouldn't have pulled that one..well not if i wanted to get back in the house ever again :D

right im going to park my bum on the sofa and read my mags...all in the name of research and sharing with you lot you understand ;)

have a great afternoon everyone :D

    Hi Everyone.

Well done on the weight losses Mrs M, Rockie and Lil Me. I had my weigh in this morning and think I've lost about another lb - scales in kilograms so hard to read accurately.

It finally stopped raining today although it is not very warm yet and quite breezy. Still I could dry a load of washing at long last.

We had our weekly trip to Gibraltar today. We shall be going in again next week to pick up DD from the airport but that will be our last proper trip there this year I should think, although we will have to drop her off again on the Monday as she is only here for a long weekend. The time is ticking away really quickly now.

B: Usual muesli etc. Fruit juice.
    L: Chicken leg, coke.
D: Tagliatelle with bacon and cheese. Raspberry yoghurt
    Snacks: Banana, orange.
