No doubt all you good people are gone to bed at this time...winding down after a day of looking after two sickly grandchildren...to be honest one Daddy arrived to take DGS 2 off for a few hours...DGD1's Daddy was busy rushing from London to make it in time for small brother or sister's arrival...Daddy arrived but baby is being stubborn and taking his/her time about it!
Have been very bad to-day...eaten all sorts of gloop and gunge, in addition to a hearty breakfast so will bore nobody with details.
Frogga...agree with you that it is nice to see newbies and that they can be helped here, but love the way you insinuated that you are NOT one of the nutters...nutty as a fruit cake you are...if that's possible for a frog!
We can do it!

MrsM, I've never kept cakes, sweets or chocolate in the house routinely - only for special occasions - and that was even when my three children were small. Their packed lunches consisted of sandwiches and fruit.
One of DD1's teachers taught them all that sugary things were what she described as "empty calories" - calories with no nutritional benefits.
Purpleivy, I watch both Glycaemic Index and Glycaemic Load carefully. The Index is particularly treacherous: if I eat something sugary, my blood sugar goes way up - and then drops way, way down - which leaves me even hungrier that if I hadn't had the sugar. So I've eaten all those calories and I'm ravenous!
Watching the GI does seem to help - porridge and veggies (the less cooked the better) are best, but protein is also good. Sugar and carbohydrates I try to avoid.
I'm of the post war generation. Food had been scarce and our parents trained us to eat it all up - a clean plate was the goal. I'm desperately trying to train myself not to do that, but to stop when I've had enough. I hate the waste - but the cat helps out!;)If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0 -

Morning folks,
Became a grand-mother again at 4.20 this morning to a 6 lbs 11 oz young lady who is at this stage to be called Aoife, a sister for S!bh (3) All well...new arrival apparently has a head of black hair...S!bh is almost albino fair so we may have a rose red rose white duo!
All I have had this morning so far are lysine and zinc tablets with some water to get rid of a particularly ugly cold sore, as it is cold I have put some apricots and cranberries to rehydrate in the microwave, may add some oatmeal and make a porridge, whatever needs to be hot.
Have been offered a pot of stew by dear brother, never one to look a gift horse in the mouth I will drop in later and collect it...he is out unexpectedly for dinner to-night.
Going to try to be reasonable to-day, feel a little hungry all the time which is good, at one stage yesterday ate 4 chocolates and felt so stuffed I had nothing else for the night.
Sorry if I upset you Frogga...are you trying to say that its MY fault you are nuts...try to blame it on someone else who is green!
Back later, have a good day
We shall overcome!

Hello Ladies :hello:
Well done Chloebelle - Fantastic loss :T :T :T
I did ok yesterday, had my glass of wine, a muesli ryvita (had to have my fix) and then a very thin crusty end off OH's white loaf  during the evening.
Today I've had boiled eggs and dry toast for brekkie and just had a banana.
Lunch is pasta salad and cherries and I'll have to decide what's for tea, not organised this week  so I'll decide when I get in........
Lots of walking today and I'll get myself a new pedometer on the way home......curious to know just how far I do walk in a day now. I think I'll go for a swim at lunchtime as well  is there no stopping this woman!!!!
Welcome to the newbies, you're in the best place here for lots of support, recipes, kicks up the bum, encouragement ........ and we're not ALL mad, just the odd one or two [strike]frogs[/strike] are a little strange....
See you later folks :A0 -
