:hello: everyone - hope you are enjoying Sunday. The weather here is bright but really really cold - I have the heating on and I still have freezing cold hands!
Jackie and Keiss - I have read somewhere too that if you don't get enough sleep you can slow weight loss right down. I get swollen ankles sometimes (had it checked out and it is just gravity due to overweight) and I find that if I don't get enough sleep they are MUCH worse. ATM I am averaging only about 5 hours a night and my ankles are really puffy - I just can't seem to get to sleep at night and I wake up in the night too - think it's anxiety.
Anyway welcome back Frogga! We've missed you!
After last nights overeating episode I am back on the wagon today. I have decided that, just for a couple of weeks, I will count WW points again, although I won't go to the class or anything as that just makes me worse - loads of people who have about half a stone to lose at most and I just feel so embarassed. But the points are easier to count than actual calories, particularly as I have the scales and the calculator. I think this might help with my portion control, which is just hopeless! I know lots of people on here get on well with SW, but I find that I just eat HUGE amounts of the free food and that makes my portion control even worse long term, and I'm sorry but no-one can lose weight eating the amount of pasta I can eat at one sitting, even if it is free food!
Well DD1 is still out from last night (no wonder my nerves are frayed) and DD2 has just gone out with ex DH so I will do some ironing and then read or watch a DVD.
Food today:
Breakfast - none (still full from last night!)
Lunch - sliced roast pork, small jacket potato, lettuce tomato cucumber gherkins red pepper and spring onion (all chopped into a salad), with a little bit of Sainsburys BGTY dressing.
Dinner - plan to have some sliced roast chicken and small portion of savoury rice with added stir fried chopped veg mixed in with it.
Snacks Muller yoghurt, apple.
Drinks - decaff coffee, decaff tea both with skimmed milkJane

Hi all
Keiss I read your post with interest re. not losing weight when you are short of sleep, I read on some magazine or the other that actually loss of sleep prevents weight loss. Not that I needed an excuse for having that extra lie-in, mind you!
Today is a TREATS day for me, as I have been invited by a friend to have a slice of spring cake (a bit like a simnel cake) to celebrate the arrival of spring - spring? What spring? Here in London it is snowing in big flakes!
Anyway, this is my day:
Breakfast: Blueberries, strawberries, apple and banana with cottage cheese and yogurt, 1 small slice wm bread with 1 oz smoked salmon
Snack: CAKE! Scary to eat cake after all this time but also an interesting experiment in losing the fear of some foods, and incorporate them into a sensible diet.
Lunch: bowl of vegetable and pasta soup, 1 apple, 1 oz cheddar.
I know that dinner will be sushi (veg) in the new sushi bar in Greenwich - because I am doing the SW diet I am sure that will not do too much damage!
Have a good day, all!
Love

Hi All,
It's hard to believe lots of you have had snow today in England when it is so warm and sunny here. We went for a long walk earlier and I walked along the beach in just a bikini. The sea was further up than usual and we had to do quite a bit of scrambling over rocks to get round the point that we can usually paddle round or dodge the waves getting round. We were out for nearly 2 hours and have spent the rest of the afternoon on the patio with a book. Not one of my Freecycle ones but a library one. The books I collected yesterday came from a slightly 'unusual' home and I was convinced I felt something bite me whilst we were there. I have a really itchy and swollen bite of some sort this morning on my ankle so the bag of books has been sprayed with fly spray - just in case!!
B: Fruit and fibre with muesli, raisins and skimmed milk. Pineapple juice.
L: 2 crackers, 25g of cheddar, 8 cherry tomatoes. Raspberry yoghurt (frozen).Pork chop, peas, mushrooms, potato and onion. Strawberries.
Snacks: Banana, orange.
Have a good evening everyone.

Hello all,
Good to read how you are all doing and to find I'm not the only one weighing in monthly. Like you Frogga, I get disappointed if I lose nothing in a week but leaving it a month I've always lost a reasonable amount. 5lbs for the past 2 months. I hope it will gradually get less each month until it stabilizes at around my target weight as I like the food I'm on now and don't fancy changing it much. I lost 10lbs the first month so it's reduced by half so far and I've 20lbs still to go. That will be 5 and a half stone in all.
Today started with a walk round and on top of our local Bryn (hill) with one of our dogs, and looked out over the snow covered mountains with the birds in full twitter in the woods, glorious. Sun out but cold!!!!
Home for breakfast of Oatabix with half a banana, grapes, dollop of set yogurt, sprinkling of flaked almonds with semi sk milk. Orange and passion fruit juice and cup of weak coffee.
Washed up to CD and jigged to music. One track had me grabbing two tins of soup and waving them around while dancing up and down the kitchen to DH's amazement. DD arrived having been to the gym so demonstrated the 'soup routine' for her.:rotfl: She's now talked me into going with her to Tai Chi on Friday! After she left I had a go on DH's gym in the garage before taking ageing dog for her s... l ...o ...w walk. Got home and thought I'd give meditation a go. Managed to stay awake (amazing) then changed DS4's bed before lunch. Veg soup and rhubarb yogurt.
This afternoon washed up....again! Threw DS2's rugby kit in washing machine and hoovered house. 3 GSD's all moulting. Had snack of wholefood dried fig and date. Then thought I'd have a go at Paul McKenna CD 'cause I like the music and imagine I'm a fish in a warm ocean with the sun filtering down.:D As usual don't know if I got hypnotized or just fell asleep, but woke up when he told me to!
Just off now to get tea of jacket potato, fish in breadcrumbs and half tin of baked beans. Bye for now, keep going, we can do it.:A"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0 -
Well.. I stayed the same.. again.. but af is here so in a day or 2 I should have lost the 3lb I usually gain in water retention.. so I'm not counting this measurement.
I think I am losing lard off my arms and feet and it is appearing on my boobs.. they are getting bigger by the day! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
The bonus to having the children off school is.. I don't go shopping.. and we have nothing in the house worth eating.. I have a freezer full of meat.. a fridge full of cheese (I hate cheese) and very little else.
I did sneak out a few times to buy fruit though and stock up on veg and cereal.
Frogga.. olives are beyond 'yuck' .. they are 'gip' (wretchworthy to those who donn't talk proper!)LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Hello everyone,
well yesterday was hopeless. I had three jam doughnuts! Sayers cakeshops should have a turnstile on the door so fat people can't get in! I have no unhealthy food in the house, but it just didn't stop me making a detour on the way home from my friends house. Hmph!
Today has been a bit better. I met up with a friend who is as fed up with the solo care of a three year old as I am, and we took the little people to McDonalds, but I hate McDonalds, so safe there. I did have a latte and part of a muffin in the coffee shop, but I counted that as lunch, and then I had a jacket potato and chilli for dinner.
I really don't want to be the fattest person in SIL's wedding photos, but I'm my own worst enemy sometimes.
I'm not technically a single parent as I have a dh he just works away for 17 weeks at a stretch. Are any of the rest of you single parents, and how do you cope?
Recovering Spendaholic give me a wave, I'm just across the river from you (well sort of) in New Brighton.0
