    Hya Folks

Just a quick post to say hello...up to my eyes in College work...last day tomorrow...aaargh, so many bits to write up!

Writing up menu plans, and reasonably on target with GC challenge...hope to lose weight this week too, though not sure after the 3 pound loss last week.

Hope everyone has a good day today, weather here is awful but I'm off to Amsterdam tomorrow on business - get me, I sound so glamorous :o its not, believe me - so expect an update on Friday where I've eaten the dutch equivalent of motorway junk Saversarn :D

Nix143, I lived in the Netherlands for 21/2 years a while back (1986 to 1988), and I always found the food really great..and lots of it! I did manage to lose quite a bit of weight while out there...could have had something to do with not having a car and cycling/walking everywhere!!!! Have a great time there!

Must get back to it, have a great day...will drop in on Friday (WI day) after work.

    M

    Weight loss since 24/06/2012: 30lb
  • hello all

couldn't post WI result last night as we were out but......i lose 2.5 lbs!!! :j :j :j which now puts me into being 12 st something, it seems so long since i was 12st something :o
and i'm determined to keep it up - if i could lose weight at a rate of at least 1lb per week then i would be at target within a year (41 weeks to be exact  ) but if i could lose it at 2.5 lbs per week then it would be gone in 17 weeks!

    food today-
b: grilled lean bacon rasher, egg and toast (well a girl has to treat herself now and then :p )
l: just a yoghurt and cereal bar as i'm not all that hungry
d: bbq chicken, mash, cabbage and green beans and maybe some strawbees

been dentist this morning, he's referring me to hosp to have my wisdom tooth removed  i'm terrified as not had a GA before (or local for that matter....) and i'm convinced i won't wake up :o i'm sure i'm being silly but hey ho.

was intending to walk DS to nursery today but it keeps raining on and off and i don't like rain :o maybe tomorrow....

cheerfulness glad DS is ok. like MRSM said, at least he thought to knock.

    work soon, must be off
    have a good one :A

I lost nearly a stone in a fortnight when I had my 4 Wisdoms out :T then put it all back on when I started eating solids again :o
  • Hello everyone - well done on the loss Toniwoty!

Cheerfulness - glad DS is okay - as others have said, at least he didn't just leave it. Twice last year someone wanged my car and twice they just got off. Once they scraped all down the side and took off the wing mirror and the other time they had obviously gone right into the passenger side back. I had the first one fixed quite reasonably but the second on is going to cost £350 and I don't want to ruin my no claims so am having to save up to have it done.

Mrs M - your gardening exploits have me in awe! I would LOVE to have a vegetable garden but as I said before I am plagued by slugs in my garden and nothing ever really establishes. I did manage to grow some tomatoes in a hanging basket last year but that's all I've done.

Nix - I lived in Holland years ago and just lived on the chips with mayonnaise on and frikadellen. I was proper addicted to them and gained 2 stone in no time! Moved from there to Germany and discovered the joys of nussbrotchen, bratwurst and quarkkuchen and before I knew it I was HUGE! I did manage to lose the weight when I got back to the UK eventually, but I have yo-yoed ever since and now am the fattest I've ever been - BUT that is changing - 10lbs off and only another 100 odd to go!

    Food today has been good.

Breakfast - nothing as was up late (DD2 still on holiday from school) and decided to wait for lunch

Lunch - hm "carbonara" style pasta - this was REALLY nice - I just boiled a medium portion (80g) of taglietelle and then mixed it with a slice of ham (chopped) and an egg beaten with a little milk and juice of half a lemon and lots of salt and pepper. I let the egg set a bit around the pasta and then sprinkled with a little grated parmesan. It was just lovely! TBH I wouldn't add the ham next time but it only added about 60 calories so not so bad. Afterwards I had an orange.

Dinner - don't know yet - this is my danger time foodwise. I always seem to pick at stuff and end up without having a proper meal. So tonight I might do tuna jacket potato and salad.

Rockie - the savoury rice with hard boiled egg was GORGEOUS - proper amazing! I will deffo have it again I added a little tin of Heinz curried beans to the rice when it was cooked to stretch it out for DD2 and I - not very OS but quick and not too high in fat or calories (I know there is chemicals in the savoury rice but sometimes you have to trade off you know?)

Newlywed and Mrs M - Can I add my request for the recipes too - plus the cheese and chive scones?

Saversarn - blood oranges. yuck! I just can't fancy them at all..... (mind you I am the worlds most squeamish person!)

    Hi everyone

Mrs M - can I request the recipe for Chewy Fruit Muesli slices please? I think you will be keeping busy typing with all the requests!!!

I have been to Asda today with my DD's (4 year olds) to spend their pocket money. I used the chance to stock up with yogurts and other things I can't get locally and in Aldi. I said I was starting my weight loss campaign last Saturday, but it hasn't got off the ground with DD's being off school and DD1 and OH being poorly.

I have decided to get myself geared up and go for it from this Saturday, DD's back at school next week and I am getting back to my twice weekly runs. I am actually really looking forward to it and can't beleive how much this thread is going to help me. I really look forward to catching up with how everyone is doing.
