Glad you liked it Taplady.
Really enjoyed my salmon and sweet potatoes...now I'm wondering what my next 'fancy' will be.
Just about to have my salad sandwich but OH is making the lads tea and he's taking a heck of a long time about it. :mad: Want my tea and I can't get it till he's out the way.
Anyways, got lots of exercise today running backwards and forwards in the garden collecting seed trays for my lovely veggies and hanging endless washing out. :rolleyes:
Its been absolutely beautiful here today and was over 80 in my greenhouse, which would explain why the cat had herself curled up on my potting bench the second I opened the door.
Have been x stitching to keep my hands busy while watching a film with DH and think I'll do a bit more as fancy a movies night seeing as we're in for the night.
Take care everyone and keep plodding.
floyd - our posts cross but was just going to say that I have days like that too when I seem to need something all day.
Must be a day for sweet potatoes!AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Hi all
Nearly every one mentions yogurt in their posts of what they eat each day. Which ones do you all eat?
I can't seem to find a nice one. I'm not bothered about whether it is low fat or not, but don't really want one with added cream. Any suggestions??

Hi donna
Morrisons used to do a lovely pack of 4 organic yoghurts... very nice..in a green cardboard sleeve..they were about £1.35..but very nice
I don't have low fat yoghurts as i find them to synthetically sweet.... LIDL used to do some nice ones too -great if you get the single ones so you can test them out to see if you like them

Hi Mrs M
Out of interest, do you make your own yogurt? I am debating whether to as I just can't find one I like.
Tell a lie, there is one from Langley Mill which is made with full fat milk with sugar (and nothing else) and it is that tart it makes your mouth hurt! Lovely. Not at all sweet and what I thought yogurt out to be! However, I have only seen it in Morrisons and that is not somewhere I have been going lately (Aldi for me, I'm afraid!).
I am supposed to be taking my 4 year old twin DD's tomorrow to Asda to spend their pocket money so I'll look there. Mind you DD1 has spend the day throwing up, so we might not be going!
If anyone else can suggest nice yogurts I'll give them a go. I have just tried Activa, but they are a bit sweet and have added cream!!

Hmmm, is there some sort of munchie bug in the air do you think? Sounds like quite a few of us have had the uncontrollable nibbles the last couple of days - including me!!! Frankly I've been pathetic this weekend, no other word for it. Willpower went flapping out of the window at a great speed shortly after posting my good intentions for Saturday, and unfortunately didn't return until today....but it has returned thank goodness!
Weigh in this morning - didn't lose an ounce unsurprisingly, so I'm going to have to work a bit harder for the bank hols challenge now, a steady pound and a half for the next 5 weeks instead of a pound and a bit over 6 - still very do-able, I'm not giving up!
Well done to those of you who've been more restrained than me(:o), and good luck to everyone for this week's weigh ins!0 -

That site says 3500 calories = 1 pound of weight loss (and since I'm metric I figured this out to be 1590 per kg). So that means if I do keep up my target of 500 extra calories per day then I should take 3 days to lose a kilo. That should hopefully motivate me not to fall off the wagon.
Hello, I've not been on this thread before but the weight's been creeping on and I went on the scales today and !!!!!. Thanks for all the great advice I've read so far!
I did hesitate about posting this because I don't want to be the bringer of bad news the first time I post on here but I thought I'd better mention it - esthomizzy, I think there's a mistake in your calculations, if 3500 calories = 1 lb of weight loss then it's actually 7700 calories to lose a kilogram, so it would take you about 15 days or so to lose a kilo if you exercise an extra 500 calories a day. Oh I hope that's not demotivated you nowbut I'd hate to think of you looking for your kilo loss after three days and it not happening....

Not sure what's gone wrong with my life lately, I seem to be time starved, not even managing to get on OS every day, when I do there isn't always time to read all the threads I want to and its driving me nuts...maybe I am sleeping too much!

Banana, apple, 1 slice salami salad sandwich, coffee;
Twix;
Plaice, broccoli, salad, mash;
Bowl of soup;
Whole papaya...it was small and starting to go off so left a few bits;

Oh MrsMc I could kiss you:eek: I've been looking for LF alternatives for home baking for years:o Got put off when a SIL made a No-Fat sponge when MIL had gallstones--the poor cook was walking around demanding a sling for a fortnight cuz of all the extra beating it took:D
I know that now the offspring are in their 20s I have very little control on their total diet, but I feel that I should have made better 'food choices' while they were younger...
Hindsight has a lot to answer for doesn't it, but at the time you just do what you think is best for your family. I chose to make certain there was always food in the house---the best I could afford at the time---rather than spend on other things. I guess packed lunches were the biggest downfall as they had a snack bar & packet of crisps every day, along with sarnies & fruit, cuz that's what packed lunches wereA lot of home baking & sharing out a packet of jaffa cakes twix the three of them did mean I was trying but ----as you say---no point beating mesen up over it now:o
So in answer to your very kind offer.....brang it awn Sisssta!Any & all recipes eagerly awaited:p
Gotta go make a crispy cake for Pup's first b'day......:rolleyes: wonder how many calories in doggie chox:rotfl:Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
