that sounds lovely - wouldn't have thought of adding nutmeg. I might try it as potato cakes and fry it in some frylight! luckily I have some sweet spuds in as I had some yellow stickered ones from Tesco. Might try them tonight with my quorn burgers instead of pasta.:T

I was thinking along those lines myself to have with quorn sausage!

    Hi everyone,

Well I have been good over the weekend, have bought new scales because the old ones were giving me different readings every time I went on them.

Today I have had a kit kat, but plan to have no more chocolate over the day.

    Hi guys,

haven't been on for a few days as exceptionally busy. Afraid I am rather cheesed off as have had a mixed week and put on 2lb's!

Very cross so am having a strict week. Have bought some slimfast to try at lunchtime - I know you will all say its carp but I just need a kickstart to boost my willpower again. Also I am between dress sizes and am so uncomfy. All my size 18's are really loose :T but still need about another 7lb's off to get into my sz 16's.

    Todays food:

    B. - shredded wheat & semi skimmed

    L. - slimfast

    D. - either jacket potato & tuna or some pasta with pesto & veggie bits. Not sure yet.

Any marvellous words of inspiration or confidence boosting would be nice!! Have a great day all x

Hi chloebelle - I find that Slimfast is a good standby for when I am not that hungry but I know if I don't have something then I will be likely to overeat or even binge later on. I only ever replace one meal a day with it, but find that it is good. I don't like the ready to drink stuff though - it tastes foul IMO, but I like the banana powder whizzed up with a banana and ice cubes - a proper milkshake!

Thanks recovering, I simply bought it so I could replace the odd lunch or whatever. I'm certainly not buying into the whole system of ready meals etc... Too expensive & not worth it!!

Hi everyone :) Can I join you all? I'm not exactly completely OS but I've read a couple of pages here and it looks like a great place to chat and learn. I am really down about my weight just now and determined to lose a stone and a half. The first half stone is the most important as it will get rid of the feeling bad about myself.

Anyway, today I've had a cereal bar for breakfast and a panini and salad for lunch. I'm going to Asda tonight to get healthier homemade lunches for the rest of the week.

I've been to the hospital wiv No2 offspring, for an appointment re: back pain. Today we saw the images from the MRI scan & I can tell you it's terrifying:eek:

Unfortunately, out of the three of them, he takes after me & my dad's side of the family for keeping hold of the weight:o But on this scan, there was a distinct white blob approx a fifth of the width of the image, & that was the fat layer:o I have never felt so ashamed & inadequate in my role of a mother as I did then.

Trouble is...he's the one that would survive on crisps & sausage rolls given the chance, & won't even consider fish fingers let alone a nice mackeral.....woe is me.....Why can't the Powers That Be invent a computer chip or summat, that stops you from putting on weight:p

    Afternoon all :D

What a glorious day it is today :T ..... hubby nipped me to the garden centre and supermarket..so i have picked up 6 lavenders for €2.99 and 6 herbs for €2.99 and then 4 more big bags of compost so hopefully tomorrow im going to have a walk to fetch some strawberry plants:j

Hubby wan't back in time for lunch so i had 2 slices of toast and we are having the chichen, stuffing, potatoes n veggies later -only im going to have sweet potato slices instead of normal ones ;) nomnomnom :rotfl:

BigmummaF.... don't beat yourself up ... heck you can't force them to eat the "good stuff"... I have quite a few recipes for "lower cal" alternatives to muffins, biccies etc if you think they might be of use... so he can still have lovely HM goodies -but without feeling different....let me know if you are interested and i will type up a list of what i have and how many cals in each and then if you want any i can type you up the recipes ;)

Hello and welcome on board Sammz :T

Chloebelle .... if having a slimfast helps then you have one ;) its not as if you are giving up proper food completely is it :D

Well done on the losses and big hugs to those who are having a hard time at the moment..it will pass ....

Right had best get off as hubby wants the PC

    talk to you later :D

Today so far I've had 2 weetabix with a bit of milk and a small lunch sized portion of pasta and pesto spiced up with some sliced mattesons smoked sausage (my staple am a bit skint meal). I've been for a lunchtime walk (4k) which I think should be 200 calories burned or so. I've also cycled to work (70cals) and if my good intentions hold I'm going to cycle to the swimming pool (100cals) and back home (70cals) I estimate. Hopefully that'll be another 200 or so which should satisfy my daily 500 cal goal for today at least and then I'll have managed to two days in a row of my target.

Well done all the losers and everyone else keep motivated. We can do it!
