Morning ladies :hello: I bit the bullet ast night and went back to SW:o Since OH started this new job and is out most evenings I've been eating nonstop all night  I need to get back in control so hopefully a few weeks paying to get weighed will focus my mind. That's the plan anyway :D
Brekkie was oats, yoghurt and berries, I've just had a banana. Lunch - I've brought a salad with new pots and beetroot and some fruit for later but there's a leaving 'do' in the pub with a buffet laid on   I'm going to eat some of my lunch before I go and have a diet coke, if I have alcohol at lunchtime I'll be asleep all afternoon - not good when you're supposed to be working (although everyone else will either still be in the pub or asleep!)
Tea will be home made veggie burgers, SW chips and veggies and I'm goiung to do some roasted veggies in case I get the munchies.

Well done to all the losers :T I'm going to change my WI to Thursday, I'll do it in the morning, the class WI is at night and I'm always loads heavier then!
Hope to see you tomorrow :A

    Hi All,

Well done to Mrs M, Cranky and Saversarn on the weight loss. I too have lost - just under a kilogram so probably around 2lbs. Hurray! I was hoping for a little bit more but it's TOTM now so I am pleased to have lost any. OH has lost 2kg since last week - how do men do it? He wasn't even trying. I suppose the extra long walks with me have helped, plus I've been making him fruit jellies for his snacks rather than scones, cakes etc.

I am hoping to persuade him into another longer walk than usual today but we could do with finding somewhere new to walk to give him a bit of incentive with a change of scenery. I am now well established into my little extra trek to the bins and jogging back each morning. I don't puff for more than a minute when I get back now, rather than collapsing in a heap for 5 minutes!!

B: The usual muesli, fruit juice etc but I am trying to put a little less in the bowl and glass so I am cutting down without noticing.
L: Bowl of tomato soup, piece of baguette. Banana.
    D: Cauliflower cheese. Orange.

If I can persuade OH into an extra long walk we will stop off at the village bar on the way back for a coffee (him) and Coke (me) so probably that will be my treat for the day.

Good luck anyone else weighing in today or tomorrow morning.

    I need help.

I am completely unmotivated. And getting bigger. And then getting miserable about getting bigger. And comfort eating. And on and on it goes. I feel hideous. I think I have gone the last 2 months without ever looking at myself in a mirror - it's head only when I do my face in the morning and actively avoid all others. Someone sent me some photos yesterday and I was appalled by how many rolls of fat I've developed. So went home and ate an Easter egg that was earmarked for a mate's kid!

What do you do when you hit a just can't be bothered wall? My holiday is creeping ever nearer and I KNOW that I will be miserable as sin if I don't do something to shift a few pounds. But right now my weight loss mojo has well and truly left the building.

Ideas to get me back on track anyone?

  • afternoon everyone,

    welcome all newbies
big :T to all the losers.

nix i seem to have a sticking point also. i'm trying to spur myself on with little things like - OH and I have a weight loss chart stuck to both the fridge and cupboard, a little reminder! i also keep my fat picture in my bag so whenever i feel like buying something fattening i look at it and think yuk and it puts me right off my food ;) but my biggest spur in all this (thought i'd mention this as i see ur getting married around the same time as me) is that i need to drop two dress sizes by wedding in Sept 09 - i'm a 16 now, want to be a smallish 12. so i'm not letting myself try any dresses on until i'm a square 14! risky strategy i know but its kept me on the straight and narrow quite well so far! HTH

i'm having an iffy time at the moment tho i don't understand why, perhaps portions are creeping up again or something

right back off to work in a min - nice walk in the pouring rain.....

    have a good one :A

    Hi All,

Hope you are all having a great day, I have had a good day so far even though I am really fancying something sweet

    B: 2 plums
L: 2 small wholemeal rolls with light Philadelphia and cucumber
Afternoon snack: Options hot choc, 2 clementines
D: Not sure yet but it will be with a huge salad and corn on the cob as they need using up :)

I might have a little chocolate tonight if I still feel like it. I am quite pleased with my new found will power, I have an unopened tube of Thorntons choc eggs (gift from MIL), 1 unopened bag mini creme eggs (from OH as they were reduced!), 1 unopened bar of milka praline (from friends Germany trip) and 1 unopened Milky Way egg (from OH as they were reduced!) is it any wonder I am overweight when I get choccy gifts all the time :rotfl:

By Eck its quiet on here today

Why do i think everyone has been paid and are in the supermarket refilling their fridges for another month of eating nice but healthy things :p

Had my yog for brekkie and then 2 slices of hm bread -toasted n buttered and about 1/3 tin baked beans for lunch -how can something so basic taste sooo nom nom nom  I swear there could have been a national crisis right outside my window and i still wouldn't have put my knife n fork down :rotfl:

Have been sat reading my mags and thought this recipe might be of use to someone.. im going to give it a go as i have 3 bags of sweet potatoes.. and only me likes em ;)

    SWEET POTATO BALTI
    serves 4
2 WW points or 201 cals a serving
    1. 500g sweet potato, peeled, cut into semi circles
    2. low fat spray
    3. 400g chopped tomatoes with onion... but no doubt we will use basic and add an onion :p
    4. 1 garlic clove - crushed
    5. 2tbs balti powder
    6. 150ml hot veg stock
    7. 410g tin butter beans -drained n rinsed
    8. 1 red chilli -sliced
    9. 75g frozen chopped spinach
    10. 2tbs chopped fresh coriander
    • put sweet potato on a plate and micro for 5 mins on high
    • heat a deep frying pan, spray with oil and cook sweet potato for 20 mins, turning occasionally until they begin to caramalise
    • place items 4-9 in a saucepan, bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 mins
    • add the sweet potatoes and coriander and stir gently and serve
Think i will roast the slices in the oven, tip into a casserole pan..add all the other ingredients except the corriander and shove in oven until ready :rotfl:

I don't normal like spicy food but i like the basic idea of that.. mind i could leave out the chilli, garlic n curry and use a dollop of thai curry paste instead ;)

There is also a recipe for red pork curry and lamb biryani which i will type up later:D

Its nice to see more folks joining in :T hello and welcome to you all :D

Well done on the losses to Rosewood, saversarn and cranky :j and anyone else i might have missed.. don't think i have but you never can tell with me :o

Bobbadog.... love the "hippo in a mudbath" :rotfl:bet it was a lovely treat :T my brother always reckons his wife doesn't make "toad in the hole" Hers is always "frog in a bog" :rotfl: apparently her yorkies are always thick n heavy :p

right i had better get off again... hope everyone is having a lovely day... don't forget the clocks go forward this weekend -says she who only found out today :o :rotfl:
keep up the good work everyone :T

Like the sound of that recipe MrsM :T
Might make that for tomorrows tea.
I was VERY good at lunch, I had NOTHING from the buffet - the fact that they'd piled tuna butties next to the cheese helped  and had a diet coke to drink, then came back here and ate my salad *polishes halo*

empy - my breakfasts are pretty boring as I tend to stick to readybrek and weetabix... whack them in the micro for 40 secs and I'm away. Quick, easy and filling. ;)

Didn't get my shellfish as I was faffing and couldn't decide  so I'm going to have some next friday instead. :D By then I might have decided what I want. :p

Got my piece of salmon :T so thats Mondays dinner for me. I did buy a reduced angel cake tonight.... who was saying that I only crave healthy things? :o I had an urge. Not sure when I will have a slice but I will make it a little one. Strange because as a child we had that at Sunday nights 'bread and spread' tea every week and I vowed never to eat it again when I left home.

Off to cook the lads tea and then jump into a nice Lush bath before getting in PJs to watch a dvd... OH chomping at the bit to watch Godzilla again. Oh joy. :p

Catch you all later and well done to Saversarn and Rosewood on those loses, and anyone else I've forgotten to mention. ;)

And I apologise about my comments regarding the prunes :o:D but they were practically at a giveaway price in Home Bargains and my greed got the better of me.
I've now got a fancy for brussel sprouts and spring greens since I woke this morning so it doesn't bode well for my household today. :D

OOOhhh - I love Home BArgains!!! So you must be a Northerner too Cheerfulness as I read that those poor people living further down dont know and can not share in with the delights of this shop!! (is that true??)

I had a similar prob with aubergines:o They were on offer at ALdi and me and DH had some aubergine bake that Delia made on Monday night only I changed a lot of the other ingredients to fit what i had in the store cupboards. Anyway why anyone would buy ELax when they could have aubergine bake will remain one of lifes mysteries!!!
