    Sorry, Hi all,

Welcome sammy - read your food budget thread with huge admiration to the budget you keep to - welcome.

Had porridge for breakfast with raisins and syrup
Had soup I made last week for lunch (lentil and sweet potato but not a good combination as it looks like a bowl of sick :o - tasted ok though )
Tea is smoked pork sausage and mash

Snacks are (now that I've been paid) an apple, a cherry muller yog and tootie frooties. Will be good tonight though and I was starving after eating the sicky soup ;)

And tescos had no free range chickens at all so doesn't look like I'll get my favourite roast this weekend :(

    Afternoon ladies n gents :D

Can't you tell hubby is on duty...i find time to post on here again :p .. and have made 2 batches of tortilla dough and shoved them in the freezer, and am just waiting for the last lot of breadsticks to come out of the oven ... have done 1 lot of carraway ones and in the other i have put parmesan and mustard seeds... have just tried one of those nomnomnom :D .. but reckon dinner is cancelled and i will have fruit or yogs if hungry..cos right now i feel fit to bust:rotfl: ... have drunk soooo much water today,, im just really thirsty again.. mind it's nothing new for me really

My new scales are lovely :j and i was right there is a list of 400 products programmed in and if you put the code in and hit a the buttons it tells you all the nutritional information :T .... that should be quite good for if my weight loss slows and i need to be a bit more carefull..... you don't know how tempted i am to buy a 2nd pair to put away for when these eventually conk out :o

Jackie_W... don't panic mr Manwearing :rotfl: I have spent years buying low cal this, reduced fat that...and still ended up weighing what i did  .. since starting this i have dumped most of it :T i still have sugar free pop -but i can't stand full sugar anyway... i have full milk but let it down to semi -but don't like full fat either ;) and sugar free jellies -again -i don't like full sugar ones... but other than that its pretty much full fat everything :rotfl: butter, lard, mayo everything... I also reckon that having less of the chemical filled "diet" foods is why i don't crave junk any more.. i swear that your body doesn't cope with all the garbage and doesn't know what to do with it

I decided to have a little bit of something really nice rather than a plate full of something "low cal, low fat".... plus when i used to eat that stuff my mind just tells me i can eat more of it as there is less in it :rotfl:
Im sure it will just "click" with you one day soon that "diet" doesn't always mean its better for us...
I now skip past the "diet" stuff chuckling as i know normal basic stuff is much cheaper too ;)

Hello and welcome to Polly :D ... give us a try before you give WW your hard earned cash ;) and i agree with newlywed -just think of all the lovely things you can buy yourself with what you save :j

right im off again -glad you have been paid newlywed :T
    hello to everyone else :D

    Hi Everyone,

Welcome Polly and Sammy. I am sure you will find all the help you need on here.

We've had a busy day (for us) as we went into Gibraltar earlier and have only just got back. We had our usual walk up to the library and visited quite a few shops looking for tea and coffee jars for the shelves in our newly renovated kitchen. (Sounds posher than it is as its just 2 cupboards with worktop and sink over, wall mounted combination microwave oven and 2 wall shelves). We looked all over the place before we found something nice at a reasonable price.

I think I've done about 6,000 steps so far today so not too bad. I'm going to succumb to egg and oven chips for tea though as I am feeling tired with all the shopping. Strange, we can walk for miles by the beach but trailing round shops at a fraction of the distance and we're both shattered!

    B: Muesli, fruit juice.
    L: Chicken thigh, icecream, Coke
D: Egg, oven chips, mushrooms. Orange.
    Snack: Banana.

Weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed.

    Hi guys

Haven't had a great couple of days, not diasterous but just not brilliant. Decided I was in need of some motivation so got the tape measure out. Was thrilled to find a loss of 1inch to bust, 1 inch off waist, 1 inch off bum and a whopping 3 inches of hips!!! Made me feel loads better.

    Todays food:

    B. - nothing

    L. - yoghurt, apple, 2 x mini cadburys creme eggs

    D. - steamed chicken breast, jacket potato, broccoli, carrots, peppers and onion

    Have a great day everyone

Thank you all for the kind welcomes, and with the comments about budget - we have moved a few things round now ot accomadate more healthy food products and buying veg mroe regualrly - we now do it in two shops - each at £50 so we get another fresh burst of veg/fruit mid month plus im hopign ti will change again soon as i have plans to grow our main veg at hoem in pots now (the basics we use onions, brocolli, carrots and swede) and myself and mother in law now go half on a big 5kg bag of spuds each so it costs us £2.50 each from a local market and they are much bigger in size generally than tescos).

EEeeeeeeekkkkkk.........................................sorry back to the original topic!

Ok so so far today Ive had
Breakfast - 2 slices of toast with butter and jam, cup of tea
mid morning - pear and 1 cup tea, 1 cup coffee
lunch - turkey roll and cucumber sandwich, bottle of water
snack - half an easter egg - dammit i will banish you to the cupboard!!! nto the sideboard! more tea (about 3 cups so far.....)
dinner - no idea yet will update when i make it

I do tend to drink alot of tea though so thats not helping my anaemia so think i will make an effort to reduce that too - maybe limit myself to about 4 starting tomorrow (i easily drink 10+ a day at present) and each one has about 3 sugars in it!

but at least the eating is relatively healthy today. Plus have also roped my mother in law in as she is trying to lose weight - she 50 with a thyroid problem - so shes hoping to help keep me on the straight and narrow and lsoe weight with me. Plus i think now bf knows hes heavier than me he seems to be being healthy too.
    Time to find me again

    Debt-free and Proud!
Hi all, I was just wondering if I may join this thread. I am a long time lurker of OS, now just getting the courage to post and join a challange, hopefully the first of many.
I currently have around 4.7 stone to lose, the result of 2 children, giving up smoking and a chocolate addiction.....
I currently work 3 jobs, a full time TA in a secondary school, a bank nurse and a youth leader. I am hoping to soon become a part time SAHM, will still work a couple of nights a week as a nurse to help pay the bills. just got to persuade hubbie to downsize house, mortgage etc.
I love all things old style and will be using recipes from the wartime collection by Marguerite Patten.
I already cook most things from scratch such as treats, bread and meals. My problem is weekends, my husband and I will eat out all weekend and it is usally little chef and hungry horse:eek: v.expensive and so unhealthy.
So far today I have had:

Breakfast: 1 bowl of rice crispies, coffee
lunch: 2 slices toast(bought bread:o I worked a night last night, to tired to make a loaf)and a bag of choc buttons ( already had them and cant leave choclolate if I know I have got it.
Dinner: Shepherds pie with Quorn mince, swede, carrot mash on top and broc, cauli, green beans. slice of homemade choc cake and cream. only a small slice.

I really look forward to sharing this journey with you all.

    Hi all,
What a fantastic group, I have only just found this thread and have spent the last hour looking through, I am so blind have been on mse for ages and never seen this on here.
Would it be ok if I joined in.

I am a busy mum of four and as stated before by others giving up smoking five years ago and have my kids has contributed to my weight gain, I am getting married later this year in sept and although I know I will never be a tiny ten I just want to feel proud and good about myself.

I have looked into joining WW again, I was a member before a couple of years ago, but I really cannot afford it now, and cannot believe it is now £5.50 a week, I never thought I would be able to do it without the help from WW group but you have all really inspired me.

I started trying to lose weight a couple of weeks ago and managed to lose 5lb just by cutting out chocolate and eating off of a smaller plate at dinner time (and cutting out all the bad snacks), I will be coming on here regularly now.
    Thanks All

    (sorry for the long post)

    Hi all,

    No internet for two days....aaaaghghgh!

Have not been at all good over the last week or so, not sure what's going on in the back of my brain but has to stop as I am sure that I have put on half a stone! We will see to-morrow...really wanted to get some weight off as we are off to Oz in eight weeks and would like to buy a few clothes which are smaller than size 22!

Mhe and Cheerfulness...if I don't drink gallons there are huge problems....need I say more, at present all the water seems to be lodging on my midriff! Get up in the night once anyway and have done since I has a hysterectomy in 1987, so makes no difference.

    Today I have eaten:

    B...soaked dried fruit, apricots, prunes, cranberries and kiwi...only came across dried kiwis last week, nice soaked or not;
Snack....Mini fillet and a few of OH's chips ( he loves rubbish like that) nothing to drink as they had no hot drinks to-day (why?) and wanted to charge me for water, no said no thanks!
    Lunch...soup, followed by slice of bread, butter and honey;
Dinner...mash, mixed roast veg (lots) 1 roast potato, chicken, 3 twinkies, glass water

If I can leave it that I mightn't do too badly.

    Good luck all

    Marie

    Hi all

Can I join please? Great thread, and some really nice recipes that I plan to try out.

Am mum of 3 - youngest is just 3months - and I've put on loads of weight over the last few years, 2 stone just from my last pregnancy:eek: Anyway, am sick of beating myself up over my weight - time I did something about it. I'm 5'4" and weigh 12st 12 - and I like the sound of the challenge to lose 7lbs by Mayday.

No more snacks or choc and starting Monday - I've worked out a 3mile circuit to walk after I've dropped dd1 at school.

    Good luck to everyone
