Hi Jackie_w,
i would take the jeans to a seamstress, i cant see it being a problem unless they are really thick rigid denim.. ??

Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!0 -
Those mirrored wardrobes are popular... my brother and SIL have them, too.
The mirror I hate the most is the full length one oposite my bath. I struggle to get out so have to get on my knees and sling my leg over the side. Its not a pretty look so why the heck do I alway choose that moment to look in the blithering mirror!
Recovering - I don't think I'd be a nice ex-wife because in your situation I'd be hoping on hope that the reason that for sale board was up was because they couldn't make the mortgage payments anymore. Yep, I'd sleep all the sweeter for letting myself believe that.
Off to bed as have tummy ache. I've making my way through a big tin of prunes the last couple of days...just love them...but I think they're having an adverse effect on my digestive system.

TMI Cheerfulness!!! - are you just trying to make sure you hit that MAyday challenge?
Recovering - what a very understanding woman you are - i dont think i could let him in MY house each evening. Maybe they are splitting up:D . DId you mention it to him tonight? JUst in case Ill type FLUFF OFF as well to help you out!!
Jackiew - glad to see you are still feeling positive. Im on for 7lbs off by MAyday as well. You cant be that bad if youve got a pair of jeans to take in!!:D
Regarding the clothes not fitting properly - what i want to know is this... before having children i was a 10 or 12 - probably an 11 as some 12s were too big and some 10s were too small. 3 children later i have gained weight to be a 14/16. No make that a 15 as i have the same problem as before. Why cant i be a dress size? Why are you always somewhere in the middle of 2 sizes?

Maybe they are splitting up:D .
And there was me feeling a tad guilty that I was hoping they were on the skids financially... you'd be much better at this ex-wife thing thinking of that! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
And I apologise about my comments regarding the prunesbut they were practically at a giveaway price in Home Bargains and my greed got the better of me.
I've now got a fancy for brussel sprouts and spring greens since I woke this morning so it doesn't bode well for my household today.
Food today:
Readybrek
HM Oven roasted onion soup with HM seedy bread
Jacket potato with cauli in cheese & bacon sauce, steamed spring greens and carrots.
Snacks - Apple and mandarins (run out of my oranges)
Recovering - my hands are in exactly the same condition as yours through hands in water all day... vaseline with aloe vera is making them a lot more comfortable and taking the redness down.
I'm now off washing up duty till they get better...hubby says soso DS2 has been handed the tea towels.
Lovely sunny day here, tho perishing, but I'm going to nip out and clear one bag of garden debris so that I feel like I've made a start on shaping it up for summer.
Going to sow my Cosmos and Morning Glory today, too. That always makes me feel like Spring is finally here when I do that each year.
Have a good day everyone and keep focused on our BH challenges.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Only 1lb lost this week, so disappointed as well as finding it inexplicable.
I read all the blurb about this, but typically see it as applying to others - only positive to take from it is the drop to the stone below.
Ah well, persistence is one of my traits....and Bastille Day is some way off yet.
Good luck to all for this week.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Morning all!
am off to work later on an 11 hour shift so its 2 meals at work for me. I havent a clue whats on the menu but it always includes meat so I need to be prepared.
I have several things I could take, ATM I am thinking of salmon for dinner, I have some sweet potatoes i could roast to go with it. Lunch will probably be a sandwich with salad and fruit.
I have had muesli (healthy eating one which I add cashew nuts and raisins and extra oats to)for breakfast.
Good luck to anyone weighing in today!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all, I did post yesterday but my computer ate it!
Anyway, I ate well having my usual porridge breakfast, tuna sandwich for lunch and quorn sausange and bean casserole with sweet potato mash for tea.
Today will be pretty much the same until dinner but tonight we are having one of my favourite comfort-food meals. It tastes really naughty so I get my 'junk' fix but its not that bad.
1 spicy veggie burger in a wholemeal bun with home made potato wedges and baked beans yum yum
Hope you all have a good day X0 -
Sorry Cheerfulness, but I'll have to pass on the very kind invite to post after you for the forseeable future...def TMI:eek:
Ex's are a right royal PITA arn't they? I thought I was doing the right thing by letting the offspring's dad 'visit' like Recovering does----it's sort of paid off cuz they've seen what a duffer he is:p but I had to endure the wrath & advice of many to get here:o Thing is, folk really do mean well & want to help, but until they are faced with the prospect who truly knows how they would react?
I have eczema & very sensitive skin so I use Nutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream....excellent stuff & works immediately. It's a tad pricey but you really do need the minimal amount.
Cuz it was my baby's [23rd:eek: ] b'day yesterday, I had a couple of those cardboard kebabs that you bung in the MW......euk!but it's a family tradition that we have to eat what the celebrator decrees....even whacking on a jar of mint sauce & wodge of salad didn't help:o Or perhaps it did! I didn't eat another thing all evening & still can't face breakfast:rotfl:Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Morning everyone
2hrs 20 mins and 12,000 steps -and im back......popped out this morning.. went to the clothes shop near the supermarket -1st time i have been in there  ... some of the bargains in there were amazing..but as usual the best ones were in every size but MINE :rotfl:I swear when i wanted the even bigger sizes i couldn't get them...now they have shed loads  ...did pick up a pair of black trousers for slopping around the house in..instead of my blak pj bottomsbut they look exactly the same -but i know they arent jigglyparmas
.. oh and picked up a pair of 3/4s in the next size down ready for the summer... if it gets here..
They had a huge "plus size" area... only they call it queen size which i think is much nicer.... i am going to attack that place when i get to target... they had jeans from €1 and they weren't naff either..some had embroidery on and allsorts  ..so once i get to target i know where im restocking my wardrobe
picked up a new set of digital kitchen scales.. i feel lost without my WW ones that died last week.. but i wasn't willing to pay €50-80 for new ones.... been in REAL today and they have some down from €49.99 - just €15 :j ..... and it looks like they hold a data base of foods that when you press the button it tells you how much cholesterol, carbs, fat etc is in  ... if they are good as they look me thinks i might have to get my mummy some
i know the foods will come up in German -but i can type her a list of the english... guess wht im going to be doing today???? playing with my scales :rotfl:
Well hubby is on duty until tomorrow morning so i was up n out early this morning.. as soon as i got in i shoved a raspberry yoghurt down my neck... very nice it was too...well what i tasted of it..as it hardly touched the sides
Lunch will be leftover lamb nuked in the micro and i will have the last of the dish of coleslaw mmmmmm and dinner i think i will roast some sweet potato slices and a drizzle of balsamic and salad nom nom nom
then again i have 17 yogurts and 4 kilo of big fat oranges in the fridge-so if im feeling lazy
Weigh in tomorrow and after sitting on my behind for most of the week any loss will be gratefully received :rotfl:
Cheerfulness - i will still sit next to you on the wagon... i love nobbie greens too .... i get cravings for weired things too, but i reckon your body knows what it wants unless of course its telling you it can only eat choccie -then i think we have to ignore it
Taplady -hope work isn't to difficult today..they are bloomin long shifts you do -never mind about that itty bitty 1lb -you will whip that off again in no time
Jackie_w
Have you tried putting your denims on a hot wash? only thats what my mum always used to do for my brother back in the day of his "sprayed on" trouser look :rotfl: ... he used to have to shoe horn himself in and couldn't bend his knees... looked brilliant -so he thought. They "give" again as you wear them but another wash and they go smaller again... might be worth a try .
Right i had better get off and get something done..
hello to newlywed, marie, rockie, m.e and everyone else... have a good day
and keep up the good work...summer is on its way (supposedly) think of all that exposed flesh -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
