    Morning!
I actually got myself organised and made lunch for work today so shouldn't spend unnecessary cash and calories today!

Last nights tea of quiche, jacket spud and beans was yummy - in fact I have to eat what's left of the quiche tonight for tea to use it up - so will have a repeat of last night!
Did try to resist the choccies left over but did have about 4 Thorntons - why will they not just disappear and then I can't eat them!

Have decided to try to stop smoking again today so may feel a bit nibbly if you know what i mean - will try to keep it down to a constant grazing though!:o

    So today's food is.....
    B - Special K bar
L - Cheese and pickle sandwich, grapes, satsuma
D - Quiche, jacket spud, baked beans

    Good luck to everyone....
  • ok, i'm going to sound off now, i hope no one minds :o
its partly because if i don't i will head for the fridge and partly because i wonder if anyone can help me with any ideas!

we are a family of 3 - me, OH and DS who is 2 and half.
OH works in london and commutes so leaves @ 7.30ish and arrives home 7.30ish.
I work part-time - 4 afternoons and 1 full day, at which time DS attends nursery. I also study in my own time - its a law qualification. Do exams once or twice per year.
now today i'm fed up. all the housework falls to me, OH does washing up and hoovering twice a week, obviously most of the care of DS also falls to me, all the paperwork is my department also, as well as ebaying bits that need doing and then trekking off to post them, all the cooking, all the shopping (OH occasionally grabs a bit of milk on way home), all thewashing, ironing etc. i think you prob get the picture (o and the wedding planning). OH does clean and sort the car - though it hasn't been done for some 3 months now....
when OH arrives home, I need to have DS ready for bed, and dinner at least cooking if not ready to actually allow me any study time. OH eats his dinner, washes up then promptly turns on his ps3 or wii.
i just don't seem to have enough hours in the day. i have an exam in may and i've only done 1 assignment out of 8  i certainly don't have time to do batch cooking etc which i wish i could as we could do with the pennies. i'd like to squeeze in some exercise too. as well as spending quality time with DS and OH. and seeing our friends/family at some point.

does anyone know what magic i can use to add more hours to the day?
i've just had enough now, i don't know if i'm asking too much from myself or OH or what. OH seems to think its unreasonable to ask him to do more. i;m at a loss.

    toniwoty - hugs to you.

In our house we both work full time (more or less - oh is self employed) - he does cleaning (dusting, hoovering, cleaning bathroom, washing clothes). We each do own ironing. I dust, clean and sort our bedroom (change bedding etc). I do all food shop, cooking, clearing up after and loading dishwasher etc. I know this is unusual to have an OH that does that much though ;)

I found it easier to food shop in my lunch hour in a few smaller stints as I resented spending over an hour at weekends doing it (plus the step kids often wanted extra stuff, as kids do). That way I get out of the office for a break too. And for the last few months I've been walking to go get the shopping each lunch time - that way I get small bits that I can carry, and get my exercise.

As for batch cooking - I found it easier to cook extra and freeze. So if I make shep pie or something, I'll double the amount as it really doesn't take double the time - then either layer up into a lasagna and freeze or else freeze the extra sauce for another time.

I also find a slow cooker helps loads as I chuck it all in first thing in the morning (does sometimes take a little time) and then it's as good as someone having cooked dinner for me - all I have to do when I get home is dish up ;)

I use that for batches of chilli, sometimes for shep pie/bolog sauce, for soups for my lunch etc.

Hi everyone hope you are all well.

Ive not been keeping up with this thread very well at all, and that has been a down fall for me im afraid. However, im still feeling positive and I think thats because last time I was struggling and I posted on here, all your words of wisdom and encouragment have stuck in my mind.
I think if I manage to keep up with the thread I will do alot better, and that is what Im going to do, even if I have to do it a couple of times a day.

Have been having 3 square meals a day, but, I really really struggle after ive had my lunch and my dinner, I crave something sweet like a biscuit or something. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to curb this? Ive tried to keep myself busy but, its still there at the back of my mind, and Ive tried freezing chocolate, and having a couple of squares, but, its still not helping.

I weighed myself yesterday in boots. OMG I got such a fright when a voice started coming from the machine. I was soooooo embarrassed. I am never going to get weighed there again. Ive got scales in the house, but, I dont trust them. They are weightwatcher ones, and depending on which side of the room you weigh yourself depends on what it says your weight is.

Anyway, Im off to try to catch up on this thread for the last week or so, and thank everyone.

Hi, I have the same thing, it's almost as if my brain doesn't think I've finished till I've had something sweet. I've tried fruit but it didn't really work. Toast and jam works fairly well for me. Sometimes an Options hot choc helps take it away.

The other thing we've started doing is angel delight - I found I only need a really small teacup half full and that's enough (OH has all the rest). It's low fat and the sugar free one is ok - we make it with skimmed milk (you can freeze it too to make it into an ice lolly type).

    Hi All

Sorry, Toniwoty I can't really help. Could you cut back on how much housework, washing and ironing you need to do? I've found just by hanging things up carefully I hardly ever need to iron anything. As newlywed said, try cooking extra rather than batch cooking, and then freezing half for a busy day.

We've had another long walk in the sunshine today. We went up to the local lighthouse and then back along the beach. I think I have done at least 12,000 steps already with the jog to the bins and back added in.

We went quite early today as although the sun is still strong there is a nice cool breeze coming off the sea. We can now sit in the sun for a couple of hours with a book.

I've been doing really well counting calories everyday and it really is working for me. I'm sticking to 1,400 per day - averaged out over the week so I can still go over some days if I am feeling extra hungry as long as I go below another to compensate.

    B: Muesli, fruit juice.
L: Small roll with boiled egg filling. Rapsberry yoghurt
D: Tagliatelle with garlic, mushrooms and cheese. Banana.
    Snack: Orange, Coke.

I am actually looking forwards to my weigh in on Friday this week.

Also today I got one of those e-mails that says all kinds of bad luck will be visited on you if you don't forward it on to 20 people in the next 13 days - it gives examples of all kinds of death and destruction that supposedly happened to people who deleted it and it has totally freaked me out. It is a really spooky picture of the virgin Mary and baby Jesus. My brother sent it to me - he is more superstitious that I am. Touble is I don't want to send it on a)because I don't really have 20 people to send it to and b) because I don't want to upset people - now I don't know what to do and I have been panic stricken all day - I am so scared. All kinds of bad things have happened to me over the last few years and it has given me really bad anxiety. What would you all do? I am in tears typing this - how stupid am I?

Just reading through catching up on the thread, and saw yours about the chain email. You can send one to me if you want cos I would just delete it.
Please dont worry about these awful things, there just rubbish that some sick person thinks to send on to people.
My sister is like you, and I always tell her to send them to me.

Big hugs to you. Let me know if you want my email address and I will PM it to you.

Hey Ho.....I'm back home after my 'holiday' rellie-sitting at me muvva's:o

As the two of them are diabetic it wasn't that difficult food-wise, apart from now having a large box of chox that came with the visitor:p I'm 99.9%certain that the offspring will be able to help out with those tho, or I may hide them to give to someone else...howzat for:money:

As most of you know I don't weigh, but go by how my clothes fit as to how well I've behaved, but I've had an awful shock. There's a full length mirror in mum's bathroom:eek:
And now I know I've got those saddle-bags that hang from the back of your knees & elbows----I feel so ashamed that I've got into this state that I'm having my May Day challenge as fitting into a size smaller trousers.:o I tried a pair in evans sale--they were awful but I was curious--does anyone else find their stuff to be a weird cut or is my blubber truly out of sync:D
    Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;
loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Don't know about Evans but me and my sister are different "shapes" and always found trousers to be a difficult thing to find. I found M&S fitted me well, but sis didn't. BHS trousers always have extra flappy bits of material below my hips (when I get the size to fit over my hips) and I never worked out whether that was me or not - but it made my belly area look even more huge!!!

I think it's the style and cut that makes the biggest difference and different shops or ranges in the same shop seem to vary loads ;)
