Taplady- thanks for the tip about plants at the car boots. I will have a look.
Anyone -What is the bank holiday challenge?
Thanks to all who have posted what they ate. It has given me some good ideas. Handy to see some veggie meals too.
Today (day one) I have eaten:
Porridge for breakfast
Beans on toast for lunch
A banana late afternoon
Mushroom and hazelnut cutlets, cabbage and a root vegetable mash for dinner.
I have made minestrone soup for tomorrow.0 -
prudent - re the bank holiday challenge. basically we've found it easier to set ourselves small more achievable targets (i know i for one often become very negative as my goal weight seems sooooooo far away) so we find a 'key' date. there was recently frogga's fab in feb and then the good friday challenge. this time we're aiming for may bank holiday. you set yourself a fairly small target of what you hope to lose by that date, then let us know and we can all support each other
it just helps to break down the weight loss into small chunks rather than one big lump :rotfl: (excuse the pun...!)
so what's your target?

Thanks toniwoty2009
I want to loose a stone by the time I go on holiday in July. But a challenge until the May bank holiday (6 weeks?) would be good. I would like to loose 8lb by then.0 -
Hello everyone - hope your day went well. I have done okay eating wise today - Pittas for lunch and then a large salad with some chicken breast fillet for tea, followed by three small pieces of chocolate (really small - but couldn't resist) and four M&S percy pigs (I love them so much and tonight DD1 brought home lemon ones!!!!). Just having a cup of tea and hope that I don't get the urge to eat any more PP's. There is alot of chocolate in the house tonight - presents from people for DD's so I am going to have to be extra strong willed tomorrow!
Anyway hope you are all having a good evening.Jane

Thanks Taplady. If it stays sunny today then I will do some more weeding in the tiny patch of ground I have for fruit and veg.
Thanks to everyone for the welcome yesterday. Have got up feeling very motivated. Just checking in here then off walking. If its not to cold, then I am going to do a route thats about 50 mins before having my porridge. Started this morning with green tea with a couple of marshmallow capsules disolved in it as I have a bit of a cold.0 -
Morning everyone,
Just wanted to say HAPPY EASTER.
Stay strong, and avoid those easter eggs.

Hi all,
Its gorgeous here today. Just like a winter wonderland in my garden. Quite beautiful!
I'm a big kid at heart and was running around the house waking everyone up at 7.30am for fear it would melt and they'd miss it.Don't think there's much chance of that as its coming down again....the cat is up to her hips in it and going wild in the back garden.
It definitely going to be a 'winter warmers' menu for me today so....
Food today:
Weetabix
2 boiled eggs with HM seedy bread fingers
Roast turkey, roasties, brussels, carrots, broccoli, sage/onion and gravy.
Don't think I'll need many snacks with that lot but I've bought a net of navel oranges and apples for when I feel the need...
Pollys - good for you losing that 10lbs. Well done. :T
Supposed to be having friends pop in at 10am but not sure if they'll brave the roads at present. Think I may just relax and have a nice read until we nip out ourselves this afternoon for some visiting.
Take care everyone and keep up the good work.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Thanks to the BH challenge I did not overeat last night after I had put ds to bed (it's so easy to do that when there's nobody around to see you do it).
Todays plan is as follows
B : crumpet with jam (no butter)
L : Egg mayo on HM wholemeal bread roll (no butter) and fruit
D : HM quorn lasagne
I have an Easter egg as this year I am not the fat person who always does without IYKWIM. I will not be eating it yet though. I'm saving it. Maybe if I do well in the BH challenge I will have some of it then.0 -
Thanks Cranky and cheerfulness4 for posting what you are eating. It is a big help to me.
I was wondering how many of you are vegetarians? I am mainly veggie as dd (who lives with me) and bf(who doesn't, but we eat together a lot) are both veggies. I no longer buy meat, but have a few things like tinned tuna and one bit of chicken in the freezer to eat. Too frugal to throw them out.
Any hints for bar meals? Bf has offered to take me out for lunch, but can't decide if its a good idea0
