And I forgot to mention the other day congratulations to Rosewood on that big loss too. It should be a bit easier now for you having scales at home. You don't need to have all those heavy clothes and footwear on to give you a false reading.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

afternoon all!
Cheerfulness - we grew 3 butternut squashes from plants we bought at a carboot last year - I made them into soup!:D DH laid some straw around them as he was told they dont like damp ground. Lots of our fruit and veg were eaten by frogs:rolleyes:and slugs. Frogs seem to like strawberries!;)
Prudent - we have a tiny half a greenhouse(leaning on the side of a shed) so dont grow much from seeds so we buy plants from carboots such as runner beans and tomatoes. Salad leaves were planted straigt from seed into the ground and we had a HUGE crop! we luckily have a large garden and have had to turn it from lawn into veggie beds. I think its possible to grown anything in containers if you are short of garden space.
Had a busy time with DH on the milk round, managed to eat a hotcross bun to keep myself going!:D
B - muesli
hotcross bun
L - jacket spud, beans and salad
D - quorn chilli and rice.
have also eaten 1 plain choccie digestive:o
Hope you are all having a lovely easter!:EasterBun (thats me!)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Well Done Everyone, I know just how hard this can be. I gave up all sweets, cakes, biscuits, puddings, jam - just about everything with sugar in for lent. I've lost 10lbs :j but it has been really hard going at times (I've also watched portion sizes) I cannot wait to tuck in tomorrow but then it is back to it, I've still got 7lbs to loose. I do feel a lot better for the weight loss and it is great not having to struggle into my jeans.:D
Good Luck everyone.MFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

Had porridge this morning with honey, banana and milk and coffee for breakfast; lunch was soup and an apple, then snacks were 3 hot cross buns...no butter mind (how virtuous!) am shortly going to have corned beef, cabbage and some mash with my second pint of water of the day...why the hades do I do things like that, mess up what was going to be a really good day?? If I were supple enough I would kick myself...could you all line up and do it for me please?
RS...well done you, if I could do something like that it might get me motivated...TOTM is a distant memory!
Happy Easter all

Hello folks :easter:
Not having a good food day todayboiled eggs with 3 slices of toast (2 buttered) for brekkie. Lunch was HM soup with a wholemeal roll (dry) then a buttered crust and a slice of banana bread
Tea was veggie sausage, mash (with butter) and cabbage, ice cream for pud then 1 piece of cadburys caramel - OH ate the rest!
OH is 'working' tonight, one of his clients wants to go to a singles night:cool: OH is terrified :rotfl: :rotfl: The only thing I'm worried about is that the area it's in is not the nicest of places on a Saturday night (or any night!)
I got a pedometer this morning! Lloyds chemist, £1.59 and it's good! It seems to be accurate, is as sturdy as a the more expensive ones and it has a sprung belt clip so is less likely to snap.
I put it on at lunchtime and have done almost 6000 steps so far
I've emptied the ironing basket this afternoon  Yes I did iron it all, even my gardening trousers!!! How good is that!!:T I think that deserves a glass of vino tonight and (hopefully) an Easter egg tomorrow :easter_ba only the one mind!!
See you tomorrow folks :A
Pigpen - you haven't put any weight on though so that's good !!!!!!0 -
Well, it’s nearly Easter egg day, my girlfriend has bought me this !!!HUGE!!! Egg and have been planning how to logically disassemble the egg into managable pieces, you see I have already had my treat day on Friday just gone and I can’t have two can I? Anyway, I got my bike ride in this morning set off around 09:45 cycled past the Metro centre, through the Derwent Walk, up through Rowland’s Gill, into Burnopfeild, down into Whickham and eventually @ 11:20 back home in Gateshead, in total 18 mile round trip, must get in shape for July this year as myself and some work colleagues are doing a charity bike ride from Workington in Cumbria all the way home to Newcastle so I need to get my fat a**e into shape.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Thankyou rockie4, for the pedometer tip - had decided this would be another excellent goad for me, but feared the cost.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
