Morning all. Its snowing here and so pretty.:snow_grin Absolutely freezing tho.
Well I didn't make the GF challenge myself.Scales read the same this week as last. Had a check of my food diary and can't work out why but not gonna faff over it... that only gets you negative... much better instead to think ahead to the May BH challenge.
As its a six weeker I think that I'll aim for 10lbs. Should be do-able and a bit of fun. I'm actually meeting some friends and relatives that I haven't seen for about 6 months at least so it should be quite a good motivator.
Recovering - loving the Little lady agency book and ordered the next one from the library.
Food today:
Readybrek
Chicken curry and rice
Mushrooms on toast
Taplady - has your OH managed to get butternut squash to grow before. I've tried about 3 times and get lovely plants going but no produce. Mind, I'm contending with lots of pigeons that sit in the trees at the bottom of my garden just waiting to see what gastronomic treat I'm going to lay on for them next! Between them and the snails its a wonder anything reaches in the plate in my house.
Away to have my brekkies. Well done to all those that have lost this week and welcome to all those just joining in.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Morning everyone. A big thank you for the 'welcomes'
Taplady - do you have a green house? I owuld love to grow some veggies - to replace the veg bag when the win runs out in may. I bought a raspberry bush and a blackberry bush yesterday. They were only tiny and from the pound shop, so I am not expecting too much this year. Last year I tried growing lettuce and was delighted with my small crop. I noticed lots of veg seeds in the pound shop, but don't have a greenhouse.
My big challenge this morning is the scales. It is nearly 9am and I still haven't had the courage to step on because I know its bad.0 -

Hya Folks
Well done to all you losers, especially Frogga and Mrs M...way to go!!:j:j
Oh dear stayed the same this week..so only managed to lose ONE pound on the GF challenge..aaargh! Never mind, will try harder on the BH challenge.
Failed totally on the GC challenge last month too...so started yesterday on both with renewed determination. I suppose, at least I am not getting heavier, and we are starting to curb our expenses...a good base to make improvements...so it could have been much worse!
Must dash, off into the garden to get more weeding done. Then when/if the weather gets worse (rain/snow) I will head indoors to get more seeds sown.
Hope you all have a great weekend...off to sunny (snowy??!) Slough for Easter Sunday to see my sis. We traditionally roll our eggs (decorated hard-boiled ones) down a hill in a local park...we may be rolling them down my neice's slide in the garden this time if the weather is rotten!
Have a great weekend.

OH's dad took us out for lunch yesterday which is why we still haven't had our sausages and cauliflower cheese! was quite a big lunch but i didnt eat for the rest of the day - aside from a yoghurt about 9.30pm.
i'm determined to manage my 7lbs by may bh. i failed miserably on the GF challenge.
today is a clear the house day - going through every room, dragging as much out of it as poss, cleaning it then as i put it back sorting out stuff to chuck or ebay. then once DS is in bed tonight, everything will be put on ebay. i might put them on for varying lengths of time so i can do several small trips to the p/o instead of trying to lug it all at once!!! plus then i get more mileage out of it:j :j :j

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all having a good Easter weekend.
Well, I am continuing to try not to be too efficient in my personal energy saving so have continued taking the rubbish down to the communal bins on a separate trip to our walk (500 steps round trip). The last two days I have jogged back - not very far I know but uphilll with three flights of shallow steps. I certainly puff and pant by the time I am back.
At the moment OH is dozing on the sofa but I am hoping to wake him up around 3pm for a walk. It will be a bit of a blustery one as there is quite a strong wind today, with a cold feel to it. So although it is sunny it is definitely long sleeves and leggings rather than shorts and a t-shirt weather.
We did our weekly shop at Lidl this morning - 38 euros which is just under £30. We also get a few bits from Morrisons in Gibraltar each time we visit as we can then park for free. I have been reading the Grocery Challenge for the first time so may join in for May.
B: Muesli mixed with fruit and fibre and extra raisins, with skimmed milk. Pineapple juice.
L: 2 slices eggy bread (with wholemeal bread). 5 cherry tomatoes. Raspberry yoghurt.Mushroom and garlic tagliatelle with a handful of grated cheese. Orange.
Snack; Probably 2 fingers of kitkat as we have 2 bars sitting in the fridge. We bought a pack with 3 bars in yesterday when we had our second walk of the day but restricted ourselves to one bar between us. Also treated myself to a Coke at the bar in the Village Square yesterday whilst OH had a coffee.
I have managed to stick to 1400 calories per day every day this week now and think it is making a difference. I felt quite hungry last night so need to save more of my calories for the evening I think rather than using them up by the end of the evening meal. I've also done an average of 6,000 steps extra exercise each day in addtion to my normal walking around. Hopefully, it will mean I have finally cracked it. I have spent the past 2 months cutting back and being surprised to have not lost any weight apart from the odd lb but actually counting calories made me realise I hadn't actually cut back as much as I'd thought even though I was eating sensibly and not having any major treats.

Hello everyone. Had another night of bother with my AF (fast irregular heartbeat), ended up in A&E until 8.45 this morning - luckily it went back to normal on its own but it is getting me down. I am seeing my cardiologist on Tuesday so hopefully he will filddle about with my meds and get it under control again, until I can lose enough weight to get it fixed surgically. Decided to weigh in this morning so that I can begin the May BH challenge at the same time as all of you, and was pleasantly surprised to have lost 10lbs since last Monday:j Much of that was fluid as it is TOTM which has now arrived. I am hoping to lose another stone in the challenge (I have lots to lose so in theory I should lose it faster).
Meals today:
Breakfast - nothing
lunch - 2 multigrain pittas with lettuce, tomato, hellmanns extra light mayo and a tiny bit of leftover tuna in springwater. Glass of water.
Dinner - not sure as DD2 is out for day with a friend, and DD1 will only want a snack as she is off out too, so I might have bacon and egg as I haven't had it for ages.
Hope you are all enjoying the Easter weekend.Jane
