Morning all
By some miracle i have lost the 1.5lbs i needed this week...so have achieved the good friday target by the skin of my teeth :j .... so i will set my next mini target for May bank holiday at 7.5lbs.. which (if i manage it) will take me to 14st 13.5and 6st and 0.5lb gone in total.....how many weeks is it in this challenge? just so i know what im doing...sort of
Hubby is on duty today... so has left for work and will be back about this time in the morning... then he is on leave until the 7th i think  so hopefully the weather will be kind so i can get loads of my tubs set in the garden - think i have got a bit carried away on the setting of the peas n beans -as they are now ALL making an appearance in the bedroom window:p -mind you can never have too many pod peas nomnomnom.. who knows i may even grow enough that some make it to a pan-rather than getting snaffled in the garden -gardeners perks n all that, and we will hopefully get some walks around the golf course
meals today hmmmmmm:-- Brekkie -weetabix
- lunch - beans on toast -i think
- dinner -feta salad probably
- snackies - fruit, yoghurts
..lets just hope it stays that way.. not gonna be on here long..think the chair is partly to blame  ...but will pop by later and catch up with whats happening... don't like missing anything you know
Hope everyone else weighing in has a good result :T

Hi everyone.
Pebbles - I would be inclined to wonder about the treatment you got at the hospital, seeing as you weren't impressed with them. I had a tumour removed from my hand under local and I didn't feel a thing. Staff were lovely, too. What a shame for you, poor thing.
MRSMC - Well done on reaching the challenge. :T :T See.... I said you didn't have anything to worry about.Hold your breath for me for that 2lbs I need off tomorrow.
Rockie - The choices in vegetarian food are great now, aren't they? I've often thought of going back but there are some things that I just couldn't give up just yet.
I decided to have my iced finger bun last night. Right enjoyed it, too. The lads are asking for all manner of baking treats over the next few days.. chocolate tart, millionaires shortbread, jam/coconut sponge and custard. Shall have to be exercising my 'portion caution' during this hols.
Food today:
Creamed mushrooms on toast from HM loaf (was lovely yesterday:drool: )
Egg salad sandwich on HM seedy bread
Prawn & cheese omelette with salad
Snacks - dried apricots, apples
My mum is getting better because when she visited she brought around a big bag of prawns. Was thrilled as I love prawns in sandwiches, omelettes and quiches...in fact in loads of stuff, so its helped with my grocery challenge, too.
Think I'll have another :coffee: and a surf before the gang wake up and disturb my lovely peace and quiet.
Have a lovely day one and all.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

I'd like to join you all if that's alright? Jackie's post from the other day could have been written by me. I've been doing really well and lost a stone since Christmas, but dh works away. He's been gone a week (16 more to go until he's home again), and cue a mammoth comfort eating binge from me.
I went to my WI yesterday, and I've put 2lbs on. It has to stop. I'm hoping that with a bit of help and support from here, I can lose a good bit in the 16 weeks before dh comes home, and give him a bit of a surprise.
Todays menu is
b: crumpet with jam (no butter)
l: banana sandwich (no butter)
d: SW home made chips with a WW veg pizza that I bought before I really got into OS and which has been sitting in the freezer for a good few months. It looks fine, (checked yesterday), so I'm not throwing it out.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.0 -
Welcome Cranky40 - nice to have another on board. If you like challenges some of us are just starting a new one as the last is just finishing.
We're giving ourselves a goal to lose so much by the first BH in May. A six week challenge. Jump in if you're interested or just do your own thing as others prefer.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Ooh, yes please. I weighed 15 stone exactly on my scales this morning. I would like to be 14st 6lbs by the May bank holiday. I was going to say 14-7, but it would give me such a boost to be under the 14-7 mark!
Thanks for the welcome.0 -
Hello everyone - :T Mrs M on the loss this week and meeting the GF challenge. I would like to join in for the May BH challenge and hope to lose 1 stone by then - I will start on Monday when I get weighed, so any loss this week won't count towards the target for the challenge. Mind you, don't know if I will have lost much because, despite being very good food and walking wise, TOTM still hasn't started and I am still all bloated with v. sore bust.
:hello: Cranky40 - this is the best thread on the whole MSE forum IMHO. I have got real problems with eating and around food in general and this has helped me no end. Everyone is so friendly and non-judgemental and the meal plans people post each day give you some great ideas for healthy things to try.
Cheerfulness - how are you getting on with the Little Lady book? All I have read at the moment is a Danielle Steele - Sisters and two Mills and Boon Historical romances. I love historical romances but I am fully aware that they are utter drivel:rotfl:
Just had my breakfast of 1.5 slices of wholemeal toast, a flora pro-active little drink thingie and a cup of herbal tea (Twinings Calming - quite nice)
Lunch - omelette and green beans, mullerlight
Dinner - cheesy tuna pasta bake - kids love this and so do I - I just make a cheese sauce (I don't use any fat in the sauce - just skimmed milk and a little flour) with lower fat mature cheese and lots of seasoning and a pinch of mustard and stir it through boiled macaroni with a tin of tuna in springwater. Sprinkle the top with a little bit more lf cheese mixed with a bit of parmesan and bake for about 20 mins until all crusty on top. Will have with green salad and orange for dessert.
Snacks - Muller light, apple, cups of decaffinated tea and coffee.
My dishwasher is still broken. I have one of those repair insurance policies and the engineer came on Wednesday and has written it off, so I will get a new machine. Don't know what they will offer me though - I have a feeling that they may offer me the cheapest available one and make me pay extra to get the one I want - will have to wait until Tuesday before they do that though so I am having to wash dishes by hand which is hard as I recently revamped my kitchen and only have one of those built in bowl sinks with no draining board!
Pebbles and Mrs M - hope the wrist and back are feeling better today
Off to take DD1 to work now and then will try and sort out the ironing mountain!
Have a good day everyone!Jane

Morning all. I don't post very often, cause if I get on here first thing I'm on here all day, but Friday is weigh-in day, so I thought I'd report.
Very pleased to say that DH has lost another 2lbs this week and has now lost 11lbs since we started three weeks ago. I think he's a bit disappointed it's not dropping off faster, but I'm trying to encourage him to go slow and steady. The 5lb loss in the first week set a bit of an unrealistic expectation.
I've also lost 2.5lbs so my cumulative loss is now 7.5lbs and I'm within squeaking distance of my target. Just need to start fitting some kind of toning exercise into my day (ha ha. Like I have enough hours as it is!). I feel walking to school and back three times (round trip of 1.5 miles) every day is sufficient aerobic exercise.
Anyway, today's menu:
B - fruit (lovely strawberries in this week's fruit & veg box), HM hot cross bun (well, it is Good Friday).
L - HM celery soup, HM granary bread, ham, salad
T - (children plus small niece) - stuffed pasta with HM tomato sauce
D - (us) - grilled salmon, new pots, broccoli, cauliflower.
Snacks - fruit, yoghurt, possible half a hot cross bun if I really feel I can justify it!
I never really believed it before, but the whole low GI thing really is becoming a way of life. Twice as many vegetables as anything else is now second nature. It will be interesting to see how the in-laws react to it over the weekend.....
I'm not going to confess the weekend menu, since lemon meringue pie is involved. It is a holiday.
Hope you all get through the weekend in one piece.

Morning all!
MRSM - well done yet again!:T have you taken any more pics lately?, with nearly 6 stone off there must be a huge difference! Does your DH appreciate the slimmer you?
Also Hows the back today? - if it is sciatica my DH found the best cure is rest.
Food plans for today are
B - muesli and tiny slice seeded toast
L - possible a jacket spud with salad
D - quorn cumberland sausages, mash, veggies and a yorkshire pud.
snacks of banana and yoghurt.
Will try and not eat any hot x buns!:D
Have a lovely good friday all! xDo what you love :happyhear0
