I have changed my diet following a massive 3 stone weight increase over the last 4 months, I used to very big, 19stone and 40inch waist and after I left the enemy back in 2006 I lost 8 stone in 3 months and managed to get back to my ideal weight and 34 inch waist, I met someone else and just recently I let my self go a bit, However I am now back on track and having quit smoking and along with the new diet things are on the up, my general mood is better, I feel good, my stress level is reduced 10 fold and I have a much more positive outlook on life, I will list my diet below it is based on a simple low carb, low fat and calorie controlled systems, I am not saying this is the right diet for everyone but it may give some a few pointers and a starting point.

    Breakfast:

Home made muesli made from oats, mixed nuts, sultanas and ground cinnamon for a bit of spice.

    Cup of coffee

    Glass of fresh orange.

    Vitamin supplement and Calcium supplement

    Mid Morning Snack:

    Sliced Apple and Carrot sticks
    Coffee
    Herbal Tea

    Lunch:

    Full tin of tuna.
    Coffee
    Herbal Tea

    Mid Afternoon Snack:

    Apple
    Coffee
    Herbal Tea

    Evening meal:

    Jacket tatty with filling or
    Spag bol or
Fish in sauce and tatty or rice

Through out the evening I don’t pick, if I feel really picky I grab the carrot sticks and drink herbal tea or green tea.

Current weight: 14st 10lb 36 inch waist Target Weight: 12st and 34 inch waist

    Target Date: June 2008

Hope this info is of some help.

    Regards

    Rob

  • Hi Everyone - finally got DD2 off to bed so having a little read of the OS board before Law & Order SVU starts at 10 - I am worryingly nuts about Christopher Meloni who plays detective Stabler.....

Chloebelle - any news on the job front for OH? I have been out of work for a while now, but have been living on my redundancy money, which will run out before too much longer and I know how hard it is to find a job!

Was just reading the condolonce thread for Smokeybabe - poor girl - it is the stuff of nightmares and really put my weight issue into perspective - all I am is fat and I can do something about it......

Food today has been okay but not to plan. I decided to use up some cod loin which was lurking in the bottom of the freezer for lunch, so had it with some brocolli and a little bit of leftover potato. Was okay but a bit rank if I'm honest. Tea was a packet of pasta n sauce with the rest of the brocolli from lunch chopped into it and that was even ranker!! I bought the Pasta n sauce when I was doing SW ages ago and it needed using up. Had some yoghurt and hm oaty topping stuff for afters and that was lovely. Last night I just put 200g of oats in a roasting tray, melted 4tbs of low fat spread with 2 tbs of honey, a pinch of apple pie spice and a tsp of vanilla extract and mixed it through the oats and baked it in the oven for about 20 mins. When it was golden I took it out and let it cool before crumbling it up and putting it into a lock and lock container. I found it wasn't quite sweet enough so I stirred a spoon or two of Splenda through it and it was lovely. It made loads and loads so I should have enough for the next two weeks, and that's if I have a bit every day. Snacks today have been 2 digestive biscuits, a chocolate options drink, a pear, half a banana and several cups of tea without sugar.

DD1 has phoned several times today because she needed the toilet- she wanted me to go and collect her, bring her home to use the toilet and then run her back. She has a thing about doing a poo poo anywhere else but at home so she was in a real flap. Needless to say I didn't go and get her so she rang tonight and said she was "in bulk" and I was the worst in the world for not going for her and just when I was starting to weaken and said I would go for her she said "Oh its too late now I'm going out to a disco!" Grrrrrr.......

Hope you are all having a nice evening. commiserations to Toniwoty and Droopydrawers on the WI - it will come off next week!

I made hm granola, sounds similar to yours, but I put some fruit in as well, dd has been eating it with milk or yogurt for breakfast or snacks. I've had the odd helping too! Need to make some more as it's nearly out, I prefer to have porridge for breakfast, but don't always have time and sometimes it's nice to have a change.

Rockie - hope your feeling better soon

Chloebelle - congrats on the weight loss and fingers crossed for hubby

Queenpig - glad your friend is feeling better

recovering - i saw a strange star in the sky tonight - wasnt going to your stable was it!! I wouldnt mind if it came to mine but hubby might!!

JAckie - w - come on here and rant and rave all you like. Weve all been there and still do it as well from time to time. I find i can go so long with out choc and then i MUST have choc or i would possibly kill someone. That made me think it was probably better to have a little each day or every other day raher than none for 2 weeks and then a whole aisles worth of choc in an hour which made me feel sick and guilty.

Anyway it was WI day for me yeaterday and it was a 1lb loss for me this week. Id been fairly good but had eaten millonaires shortbread as someone kind had posted the recipe on the GC thread and it would have been rude not to try it!! Im telling myself a 1lb loss a week is 52lbs a year which is 4 stone for the year to make me feel better!!

Well done to all the lossers and heres to a better week to anyone who needs it.

I just found this thread and I NEED YOU !! :) I cant get weight off to save my life, Got ME and am too knackered to go outside the house much, so can't exercise. I dont eat much but like my sweeties, would find it hard to cut that out completely, but the weight since I gave up work is steadily creeping up and I need to stop it.... Does it really make such a difference if you dont eat after 5pm ??

Finally on my way home - back in Newark airport again (hopefully all will go to plan this time!
I'm starting in earnest tomorrow and will weigh myself in the morning and then go to Tesco and stock up on "good" stuff.
Its impossible to eat normally in America - everything is flipping massive or full of meat!
Back to normality soon I hope.
Will report in on the damage on Thursday when I'll be back online.;)
