Hello everyone - glad that you are on the mend Rockie, and that you are feeling better Toni. Chloebelle - sorry to hear about your nosebleed - that would terrify me! Cheerfulness - kids! canny as a cartload of monkeys as my Mum used to say. :hello: to everyone else and had anyone heard from Frogga?
Purpleivy and Mrs M - agree about the fruit - I very rarely have fruit juice as it is, IMO, a waste of calories when you can have sugar free squash (I know I know it is full of chemicals but hey.....), plus I find that orange juice and grapefruit juice give me heartburn.
There is another OS thread about a Tesco Breadmaker for £24.99, which I am thinking of getting as we use so much bread. I just don't know how I will be with it though - I am not a HUGE bread fan TBH and it might save me some money as kids will only eat bakery bread which is £1.85 a loaf:eek:
Spent the night in hospital with another bout of AF (Atrial Fibrillation - fast irregular heartbeat). It was awful as the hospital was at capacity and I had to wait ages to go on a monitor and then ages to be seen by a doctor. It went back into normal rhythm this morning so after they had done the usual cardiac blood tests and they were normal, they let me home. It is really getting me down now. It can be fixed with a fairly simple procedure (Tony Blair had it done) - you are only in for a day, but the cardiologist won't touch me until I am at a near normal weight. You would think that would spur me on but it just stresses me out so much that I end up comfort eating. Anyway today I have felt a renewed determination again so I have had:
Breakfast - in hospital so nothing
Lunch - 3 dry crackerbread with 1tsp honey and a banana
dinner - half a dry jacket potato, some sliced skinless chicken breast, boiled garden peas and some Sainsburys BGTY fat free gravy.
I have run out of salt so it wasn't the tastiest of things but it has filled me up and I will just have some fresh strawberries and a Mullerlite later on if I am hungry. Am going to knock the chocolate options on the head too - Doctor said that tea, coffee and chocolate can all trigger AF in susceptible people and I have been having loads of options drinks lately.
Also today I got one of those e-mails that says all kinds of bad luck will be visited on you if you don't forward it on to 20 people in the next 13 days - it gives examples of all kinds of death and destruction that supposedly happened to people who deleted it and it has totally freaked me out. It is a really spooky picture of the virgin Mary and baby Jesus. My brother sent it to me - he is more superstitious that I am. Touble is I don't want to send it on a)because I don't really have 20 people to send it to and b) because I don't want to upset people - now I don't know what to do and I have been panic stricken all day - I am so scared. All kinds of bad things have happened to me over the last few years and it has given me really bad anxiety. What would you all do? I am in tears typing this - how stupid am I?Jane

RS - Just delete the e mail, it's nothing but a pile of twaddle and nothing, absolutely NOTHING bad is going to happen to you as a result of deleting it - trust me hun!!!! Then forget it ever existed.... it's pure made up rubbish and not worth wasting one second of your time or thoughts on. These things make me so mad, grrrrr:mad:
Hope you're feeling better today and keep up with that renewed determination - think I've got a bit of that here too, helped by the fact that I've finished work today until next Tuesday, yay!!!! I'm so much better when I'm off and keeping busy rather than sitting on my bum all day in work. Planning to do a healthy shop in the morning to keep me sustained over the weekend.... painting the spare bedroom, which will mean loads of exercise up and down the ladder and shifting furniture:eek: and no time for nibbling more to the point! I am soooooooo determined those scales are going to move in a downward direction come Monday morning!!!
Keep it up everyone, and welcome to the gents!0 -
Evening folks (do we have a man on board ???? )
I've had a nice day today, dropped OH at the allotment, had a wander round the shops, called in to where I used to work to see a couple of the folks that didn't find the escape tunnel :rotfl: home for a bit of lunch, collected OH then had another wander round some other shops! Managed to get some nice summery 'accesories' to brighten up my living room and then had a play with my new steam mop - brilliant!!
Food today has been :-
B - porridge with raisins and a drizzle of honey.
L - wholemeal muffin with a poached egg and a little bit of LF mayo
Snack - a hotX bun - OH bought it for me so it would have been rude to refuse:o
Tea - cauldron sausage, sweet potato mash and brocolli with raspberries and LF greek yoghurt for pud.
I'm feeling almost back to normal now, hope I'm ok tomorrow then I can crack on with my decorating.:T
RS - ditch the email, load of rubbish! I've ditched loads and am still here to tell the tale!!0 -

Your menu sounds lovely Rockie - I have never tried the cauldron sausage - I have tried Linda McCartney and Quorn and didn't like them. Are these different? I really fancy some raspberries too - will add them to the online shop I am just doing ATM.Jane

I wasn't lucky that the bus narrowly missed splatting me yesterday I was stupid for trying to cross the road then and not using the crossing and the bus going just a fraction faster than I anticipated.

only glitch yesterday was that me and DS made that lovely banana bread that someone posted, poss purpleivy? thank you whoever it was, it was yum! (i really must note these things down....!) the house smelt so lovely when it came out the oven. it seemed rude not to have a slice, then friends popped in for dinner, i didn't have any pudding alternatvies so ended up with a slice of BB, spoon of golden syrup (all warmed in MW) then a scoop of ice cream
rockie did your steam mop come from lakeland? i bought one last week, they're great!

trying to cut down on carbs. i'm not a big vegetable eater so i tend to substitute them with carbs
finally picked up my cookbooks from the parcel depot - nigella express, ainsley's low fat meals in minutes, and low fat no fat chinese cookbook. they all look good - esp nigella, tho many of hers are not particularly weight loss friendly!!!
