  • :hello: everyone.

Queenpig - so pleased that your friend has pulled through - poor girl - what an ordeal.

Well I decided to get weighed this morning and found that I had gained a pound, which is not too bad as my TOTM is overdue:confused: (no!! not unless there are wise men and shepherds on their way here that I don't know about). My ankles are all puffy and I feel mega bloated so I guess I am retaining fluid, which is something I get from time to time - not every month, just sometimes.

I am going to try and limit my bread intake this week and see if that helps at all.

Went to Tesco's this morning to get a few bits for DD1 who is going away on a revision break to University this afternoon - got pyjamas and so on very cheap so was pleased, however I got drawn into the BOGOFs and special offers and came home with pork loin steaks, a side of salmon, chicken breast fillets, a Willow farm chicken and some extra light philadelphia - none of which I needed but I have frozen them so they will come in handy.

    Meals for today:
Breakfast - 2 weetabix with sweetner, skimmed milk and half a banana
snack - Flora pro active drink
lunch - big salad with tuna and some Multigrain crackerbreads (got in Mr T's this morning - never had them before but they are only 20 calories each), followed by an apple
    snack - chocolate options drink
dinner - hm meatballs in tomato sauce with brocolli (pasta for DD2 but I will give that a miss cos of the wheat), followed by defrosted blackberries with natural yoghurt.

I am going to have a go at making a crunchy oaty topping for my fruit and honey - never tried it before but I will just mix oats (not quick cook) with a pinch of salt and some apple pie spice, and then mix them with a little bit of melted low fat spread and honey and then toast the whole lot in the oven for about 15 minutes. Don't know what it will be like but might be nice so I'll give it a go.

I envy those of you who can grow veg! I have tried for the last 2 summers and have had little or no success - everything got eaten by slugs or just didn't grow! I loved watching Jamie at Home and seeing how easy he made it all look.

My dishwasher is broken and I have to wait until Wednesday for the engineer to come and it is driving me nuts!

Didn't have time to post before I went to work this morning. I did however have my porridge.

No snack, but took a flask of nice coffee into work, but home now for lunch and HUNGRY. Had the tiny bit of hummus left from Sat night with a few bits of carrot, cuc and pepper. It's a bit of a case now of "mmmmm what can I have next?!!"

    Don't know really.

Dinner to be carrot and coriander soup tonight I think. THere are some nice bread rolls that I made yesterday to go with it and then they can have a sandwich or pud. I need to clear the fridge of most perishables before I go away on Thursday. family won't use them!

Now... lunch! Will start with a cup of tea I think and go and see what the fridge offers.

    Hi guys,

Weigh day, am pleased to say a loss of 3lb! :T

Very pleased, was naughty yesterday and went overboard on the cake but will certainly be trying hard this week.

Tried on my sz 16 trousers again. A fortnight ago they only got as far as my knees, today I can get them up to mid-thigh. Hopefully in another 2-3 weeks they will actually get round my bum! :rotfl:

    Food today:

    B. - shredded wheat & semi skimmed

    L. - hmmmm not to sure. Definately fruit and a yoghurt. Think some beans or scrambled egg on toast.

    D. - HM chicken, leek and mushroom pie with carrots and broccoli

    Have a great day everyone

  • Well done on the loss chloebelle!

I went to make my tuna salad but decided to have tinned salmon instead. I haven't had it for ages and it was really lovely. Had some mulitgrain crispbread and a cup of soup with it and had a pear for afters. Feel just nicely full now, but not stuffed. I mainly tend to overeat at night - usually about an hour and a half after I've had my evening meal I start to get this urge to eat toast and other rubbish, even though I am full. I have found lately that I am worse if I watch soaps so I have stopped watching Corrie, Emmerdale and Eastenders - I've got enough trouble in my own life without all their stresses too! I am definitely a stress induced overeater!

I went to Borders with a friend yesterday and bought a pretty spiral bound notebook which I am going to use as a food journal, to track what, when and why I eat so that I can see if I see any kind of pattern. I am also going to have another go at planting up some veg and strawberries. This time I think I will try growing them in containers or even hanging baskets. I have got loads of empty containers and baskets so I will go and get some growing compost I think. What sort of stuff do you all use?

DD1 is just getting ready to go on her revision workshop course at Liverpool University. She is going to be away for 2 nights and is packing a case AND a holdall, plus hairdryer, straighteners, tongs, electric razor and a huge tuck box:rolleyes: We have to leave in less than an hour and so far she hasn't even got into the shower yet and that takes her ages, plus we have the blow drying and straightening, and then the make up application to get through. grrrrrrr........

    Anyone heard from Frogga?

    Hi REcovering,

Mercifully I won't be here when ds goes away on Friday or when dd goes away on her music course next week. I suppose I'll get frantic calls from them and dh about where certain things are!

    Hi all,
Ate too much over the weekend. Couldn't find the naan bread recipe and should've looked harder for it as dinner wasn't filling enough and so made yoghurt scones - which were yum but me and OH demolished the lot with jam (no cream) :o - That was Sunday, Saturday was biscuits and too much cheese on lasagna :o

So 2lbs put back on and determined to be really really good this week ;)

Been for my walk. Bought no tootie frooties (none in the shop).

RS - know what you mean bout soap operas. I only really used to watch Eastenders but someone said the same thing - enough stress in life without getting involved in theirs. The first week or so was a bit difficult not to turn it on to find out what's going on - but now I can't be bothered, don't care and don't really want to know - and I feel much more "free" as there's no addiction to be sat in front of the telly for a certain time (if I recorded it I never seemed to have enough time to sit and catch up before the next episode).

    Breakfast was porridge with raspberries
    Snack was an apple
Lunch was jacket spud with tuna, olives and low fat salad cream
Snack is a muller light (and maybe another apple)
Tea is sesame salmon with roasted sweet potatoes

And hopefully no toast and choc spread in the evening. There aren't any biscuits or crips left so safe from them now :p
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
