Morning all
Cheerfulness..... I think you are right...May bank holiday was the next challenge and then the start of summer for the next one.....so we don't have challenges that are too long...
I have been checking my seeds..and have carrots n peas through, onions,
my cucumber seedlings are now about 7" plants :T ..so i need to get some more tubs n compost at the weekend..unless i can put it off for a couple of weeks -so i don't have to fetch money out of the bank-have loads more to plant... getting excited as i love asparagus..but that needs to be planted and left in the same place..well we have discovered "asparagus peas" ..grow like pod peas -but are almost squared with frilly bits down the edges.. only they taste of asparagus -not peas :j .... i have so many seeds to grow its mad... can't wait to get the lettuce n stuff going..will save us a fortune
Taplady -hope you are making the most of your last day off for a while
My hubby declared that he is on duty -friday morning until Saturday morning this weekend -and then is on leave..but he hasn't decided how long he is having off yet.. so hopefully a couple of trundles around the golf course will be involved....
Meals today:-- brekkie-sf jelly with fruit -wasn't really hungry
- lunch- not sure
- dinner -hubby is having pasta bake so i might have the same... have one of those heads on me today..where im really not interested in food:eek: but i will have to think of something..could always have weetabix i guess
Hope everyone has a great day..keep up the good work.. last week of the good friday challenge... then we get to start a fresh again :T

I was wondering how your seeds were doing MRSMC. Need to catch up so think I'll have to add cleaning out the outhouse and greenhouse to that long list of jobs.
I saved an absolute fortune when we had our allotment. We had every kind of veg and fruit growing there as well as rows of flowers. I always thought the allotments were like a wonderland, I just loved the peace up there. FIL had the one opposite and I know he let us believe that the wonderful produce was all our own doing when I'm convinced he was secretly tending it himself. OH's dad is a lovely man.
Right, off to warm up a bit of compost and sow my basil and tomatoes NOW! I keep procrastinating and it's madness when I know how MSaving growing is. Think of all those wonderful salads for free. :j :jAUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

I got told last week that i had got an allotment- i put my name down when hubby was supposed to be coming out of the army..they back onto the street our house backs on to... had to turn it down... but will put our name back on the list when we know we are coming back
I have sooooo many things to have a go at... i find it so relaxing and i only grow everything in tubs...
have some lovely stuff to grow.. well try :rotfl:
Beans n peas are my pet fave.... just winning the battle with the slugs and my peas at the moment..putting some of hubies beer down to attract the little sods..they are NOT having my peas
salad stuff is sooo easy to grow isn't it... and so much more taste than supermarket stuff.... we will have to exchange piccies of our attempts :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Morning gang.
Quick up date on Val, it seems she has pulled though and is much better, they have took the packing/balloon out of her tummy so i assume they have managed to stop the bleeding. She had her baby for a couple of hours on saturday (which I'm pleased about as i was worried about her bonding etc), Val was sitting up in bed asking for ice cream, and she is now in the maternity ward. So looks good, that is as much as I know though, because she is only been told from her family and letting me know.
I am baby sitting my friends daughter again today shes at the dentist.
B - Nothing (sorry i am a breakfast skipper)

WI today - I've stayed the same, which considering the high carb diet I've been on over the past few days I'm pleased with, at least I didn't put anything on!Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Quick gardening question....if I plant stuff in a couple of gro-bags, will it be safe from the Pup:rolleyes: or should it be raised somewhere out of 'reach' IYKWIM:oFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Hey guys, I'm back *waving*
I have well and truly fallen off the wagon this last month and so I am starting from scratch, going to get weighed later and then measure myself tonight. I have 17 weeks until my holiday and the way I feel now nothing could induce me to take my sarong off. I had bad cold last week and binged like I've never binged before. I literally ate until I made myself sick. Shocking. Feeling very down with it as well.
Anyway onwards and upwards.
Had porridge for breakfast, sarnie for lunch and chilli and salad for dinner tonight.
Like others my seeds are coming on great guns - got cut and come again salad, rocket - which I could eat every day, peppers, toms, broccoli and herbs for starters. They're all going to be grown in containers and I can't wait to start tending them properly, as it is I am there talking to the little critters about 3 times a day telling them how good they are for growing so wellFancy doing shallots as well because they cost a blooming fortune to buy. Oh and there are a pair of bluetits nesting in the bird box right outside my kitchen window - its lovely watching them in the morning. But my faves are the pair of robins who are hip hopping around the garden currently, such a cute little bird.
Life is good, I just need to remember before I ram a big wodge of nonsense in my face how unhappy ultimately that will make me feel
Good luck to all xxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

Bigmummaf - Depends if your pup is likely to pee on it. My cat is a digger so we've made a net 'cage' like thing to stop her getting in. (pea net from £1 shop and branches from trees.) And we have to protect the rocket as she seems to have a taste for that.
Aren't we a lot of gardeners..nix at it too.Goes hand in hand really, love of food, love of producing loads more free. Most of mine is in tubs as well. And thrilled to see that my thrushes are back nesting so they'll be making a meal of the snails again this year. :T (I'm so cruel.
)
Tomatoes, basil and cucumbers now safely sown and I'm looking up recipes to use them in now because I'm definitely going to have a glut...I've made my mind up.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Rockie.... help... talk at me..... 1lb off since last weeks WI.. BUT knowing that will be back by the time I've eaten my lunch is totally demoralising..
Breakfast I was in bed for..
Lunch Corned beef hash.. and dinner tonight we are having mince of some description.. not sure what with yet.. Anyone got any funky ideas?
:T :T :T :T 1lb off is brilliant :T :T :T :T Baby steps and all that! better off than on! Going in the right direction! You're doing great!!!!
*crawls back to sick bed*
Not sure what's up with me, I've got a cold that I do know but I've had the most AWFUL headache since Saturday, ordinary painkillers not working neither are my migraine pils, it's not stopped me eating though. Should have weighed in this morning but 'LO battery' flashed up...perhaps as wellso I'll weigh in tomorrow.
I wouldn't mind but I've got the week off work - holiday and I'm supposed to be decorating.....the house just looks like a tip at the moment.
Right, I'm off to sort out some lunch, not a lot in at the moment until MrT delivers tonight so I'll have to scratch around for summat healthy.
I've got a new incentive, we've been invited to a birthday party in 2 weeks, we NEVER go out (not together, I think the last time was 1986  ) and I have a dress I bought for a friends wedding 2 years ago, it fits but I could do with losing a couple of pounds to make it look as good as it did when I bought it.
Se you later folks :A0
