Just a quick heads-up....Good Friday is a week tomorrow:eek: Apparently it will be something like 57 yrs before Easter will be this early again..thank goodness:p
And while I think of it, I'll be at me muvva's from next Weds for a week cuz a relly is coming to stay & I'm baby-sitting the pair of 'em....lucky me! Should make for a good weight-loss tho as they are both diabetic;) swings & roundabouts!

Welcome to the newbies---can only suggest you keep having a nosy & pick out the bits that work best for you. I'm more of a background support....the ones you'd find selling the flags at meetings & stuff, rather than an inspirational leader like most on here:D

    Morning all ...

BigMummaF  a week tomorrow eeekkkk.. thought it was a bit longer than that... poop... ok , still hoping to lose the 4lbs by next friday then  ...lets hope tomorrow is a good 1 :p ...mind i haven't been out of the house since Saturday...oh apart from a small walk to the NAFFI the other day... mind i have been good with the eating-especially considering i have been left on my own all week - Being left on my own used to lead to the "if no-one is there to see me eat it then it doesn't count" approach.... glad to say it looks like i have knocked that habbit on the head :j ...Hubby is back tomorrow evening :D

    Meals today :-
    • brekkie-cherries in jelly -with yoghurt...very nice it was too :p
    • lunch - smoked pork loin with salad
    • dinner - prawn and avocado salad i think nom nom nom
    • snackies - jellies (6 left :D ) or fruit, yoghurt
Cheerfulness.. glad you are feeling brighter :T .... those are some strange sandwich fillings ...eughhhh
I always used to find that even the "whoopsed" fruit from morrisons seemed to have a better shelf life than the fresh stuff from other supermarkets
Are you looking for lunch ideas to eat at home or for packed lunches?... Im still wandering through my cook books n mags..so will keep an eye out

Toniwoty - I must be in a minority.. i would rather go to the dentist than the hair dressers :rotfl: god i hate sitting there bored out of my tree..folks faffing with my hair.. give me the dentist any day... mind i think i spent so much time there as a kid with braces etc ..im about immune to them..well apart from the price of course  .. last time i went in the UK it was £900  mind he made a good job..

Agapanthus.... oooh off to France... I could come with you :p .. we could take a spare wagon.... im only thinking of you :D honest :D

Pebbles.. just think how much more stressfull it will be if you don't take the appointment next week.. how long could you be left to get stressed up before the next appointment comes...
I have never had a general before but have had loads of local ones.. had more of those than I care to think about... loads of lumbar punctures.. everyone is right.. you feel a bit of a sting and then its done....
Can you take a personal stereo with you so you don't have to listen to the "goings on" ??? wonder if they would let you... it might help..

Right i had best get off and do some ringing around... sis had another dose of chemo yesterday -so need to check she is ok... and then mum...

have a great day everyone..and keep up the good work -especially now we know good friday is closer than we thought

Hi everyone, oh dear chances of me losing 5lbs by next Friday are remote, i will try though- my friend at work won a huge easter egg in a raffle and bought it in today to share the calories.... I MUST BE BRAVE.
Pebbles- I am the biggest coward and faint just talking about blood etc, but I managed a stay awake operation for carpel tunnel about ten years ago- mind you I've not looked at the scar yet_pale_ . Anyway a nurse holds your hand and chats and you can not feel it- although at one point I felt a bit squirmy and wriggled and nearly gave the nurse a black eye (better than the midwife I bit I guess  ) After they gave me a certificate saying 'Dumbo said Sandra had been a brave girl' none of the other adults got one  You don't want a general they make me ill for weeks! Good luck be brave.

    Morning Ladies,

Thank you all for your help, i have booked the op for next wednesday and i am going to ask if they can give me mild sedative so that i dont wind myself up, its no so much the op that scares me but the thought of 'seeing' inside the operating theatre as i have always had general anaesthetics in hosp! but as you all say the quicker its done the better!

Mrs M - thanks for the personal stereo idea, i'll take my ipod with me just in case, perhaps i will pop Mr McKenna on then i wont need Sedative!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Toniwoty - i have had wisdom teeth removed under local anaesthetic and apart from the noise it was ok, i took a friend who held my hand and my teeth were really hard for them to get out but i honestly did not feel a thing.

Cheerfulness - i have visions of a musical going on whilst i have my op now !!:rotfl:

Recovering Spendaholic - you are right, longer i leave it, longer i will stress out for!!! :T

    thank you all again!!

its such a lovely morning here, sun is shining, think im going to take myself off for a walk, speak to you all later
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

    Hello gang.

Haven't read though the posts yet but will soon, just an update really.

Val wasn't actually in a coma or on life suport (as i was told by the street gossip why i listened all they care about is spreading evil lies)but sedated and is hooked up to monitors ect, what happened was as you probably know she had problems with her placenta and had to have an op to remove it, this made her hemoridge (sp) which they manage to control, once she got she bled out and they had to remove her womb, once she got back she bled out again the hosp thought they might have nicked her stomache, so packet her stomache up, her blood simply wasnt clotting, so today well how can i put other than her fate will be what it is now, as at 9 this morninf they gave her, her last chance and giving her the last and most expencive blood clotting they can get, remove packing and do what they ect, if this doesnt work nothing else will. they put 42 units though her and as oon as they were putting it in she was lossing it. I think thats about every thing Jan told me (yes jan not ann, i'm not v good at names) I will find out tonight at school if val has made it, I didnt really know her that long probably as long as she was pregnant but this has made me really sad..........you dont realize what you have do you. I hope i made sence.

Anyway today sorry to say i wont be working out house work to busy my self.

    b - nothing
l - not sure if i feel up to it. (cheese salad if i do)
t - bbacon and eggs lol

    yogurt and fruit.
    Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
    Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:

Welcome, shawtj. We're all trying hard, but I think you've hit a vital point by actually giving the quantity!

Portion sizes are my downfall - I eat pretty healthy, low fat stuff, but usually too much of it! Mind you, a few glasses of wine don't help either - and I'm just off to France for a fortnight. That's not a place where it's easy to go on the wagon.

hi I had just won the dorset cereals and their little boxes were 45g each. But I too sometimes give myself too much. I weigh pasta at 3 and half oz not cooked.

Had a bad day food wise yesterday.... had cheese sandwich for lunch..not bad in itself, but I really am starting to think I'm better off without too much gluten. then to make sure I had 2 scones! got the munchies big style yesterday.

Just remembered I'm having my feet done today, at least I can't be shoving things in my mouth while that is happening! Need a snack before I go, otherwise I won't be sensible when it comes to afterwards. In a way a bit of a nuisance having the appointment over lunch time.

Got to be on the go at dinner time as well as I have parents' evening and dd's cello lesson to sort, At least she won't want to go to mcdonalds!

I'm finding excuses not to do much today methinks!
