    Hi Everyone

Not much to report here. I succumbed to doing some baking last night and made scones - and gave in to a piece of the mixture and a scone with butter! Oh dear. I don't usually have butter in the house but bought some last week for making my chicken liver pate. It has nearly gone now though.

Had the usual sort of day with a walk on the beach at 5.30pm. We are having to leave it till later now with the weather improving as we get too hot toiling up the steep paths home otherwise.

B: Usual muesli etc. Pineapple juice. Banana.
L: Home baked baguette (1/3) with mashed up boiled egg. Raspberry yoghurt
Snack: Felt really hungry around 4pm so had 3 crackers with butter and cheese.
D: Prawns with rice, mushrooms, pepper, peas and garlic. Remains of raspberry yoghurt frozen to pretend its icecream. Orange.

Thanks for the lovely comments on hubby rockie and saversarn... i know i have a good one -mind he hasn't done too badly either :rotfl: .... It took me long enough to find him ..so im holding on tight ;)

Had the scrummiest dinner ever... even better than yesterdays :j .. still had the salad with feta, avocado but then sliced up some sweet potatoes and raw beetroot and roasted it in the oven with a little olive oil and pepper and when i ate it i drizzled a little balsamic syrup   ... Think i can see my having that again nom nom nom :D so im now full up too

im going to make some jellies later with tinned peaches in... just for something a little different.. plus im trying to eek out my oranges n yogs so i don't have to shop until Monday ;) have 8 of each.... but i can easily demolish those in a few days :o

Now who asked about freezing smoothies?? was it you toniwoty??? only whilst reading my mags today i have read that freezing them is no problem... when you think about it -you can make them into lollies so its obvious now  it says just shove in a bottle and leave room for it expanding..but it says not to freeze yoghurt based ones  don't know why as i freeze yoghurts all the time ..

Hi there and welcome on board shawtj2.... hope you get lots of help on here :D

Nothing much happened here today...much reading of recipes again :o .... finding some lovely ideas though so i will let myself off ;)

  • Hello everyone - just got my computer back from repairers and had a quick read through the posts from yesterday and today. :hello: to newbies and :T to losers and ((())) to those who are struggling for whatever reason. I haven't had a bad couple of days eating wise and as yet I have still not murdered DD1 so that's a bonus.

    Today I have had:
    Breakfast - milky coffee
lunch - cup of spicy beef soup and tuna salad baguette ( I split the baguette and then scoop out all of the soft bread inside and throw it away so I am left only with a crisp shell to hold filling)
    Snack - orange and apple
Dinner - sliced leftover cold roast pork, a few Tesco light choices oven chips, bit of rice and spoonful of hm curry sauce (we call it the hm takeaway here) - no dessert

Bobbadog - did you get a pedometer? At the moment Lloyds Pharmacy are doing a special offer - I think the pedometer is about £4.99 but it is actually a properly calibrated one worth much more - I think they have done some kind of deal with the NHS cos they sell blood pressure monitors and so on v. cheap too. Anyway it is meant to be a really good deal. I was given a pedometer by the dietician and yesterday when I was out for my walk I unclipped it from my waist to see how many steps I had done (too vain to wear glasses in street so couldn't see it otherwise:o ) and it blew out of my hand and right down the road and that was the last I saw of it. I have to go back to the dietician tomorrow and suppose I will have to pay for a new one.

Cheerfulness - the Little Lady Agency books are by Hester Browne - there is the Little Lady Agency, Little Lady, Big Apple and the newest one is the Little Lady Agency and the Prince. They are really witty and mad and I love them. I love Sophie Kinsella and these are very much in that vein, and Hester Browne thanks Sophie Kinsella in her spiel at the beginning of the book.

Queenpig - hope you get good news of your friend.

hope you are all having a good day.

    Evening everyone. :)

Well, after a shakey start this morning I ended up having a lovely relaxing day. :D Got masses of xstitch and dvd watching done  and even froze a batch load of bolognaise sauce.

Made my cauli/broc in cheese and bacon sauce and am more than full. I knew my jacket pot was a little bit too big and I should have stopped 4 mouthfuls before I did :o but it was lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Will be able to enjoy it again twice more too because the kids turned their little noses up so I froze their portions for me another time. (waste not want not. ;) )

I'm glad you're managing to get lots more walking done again now Rose. Can't wait for the weather to get warm here so that we can enjoy pleasant walks, too. My knees are heaps better when its warmer...although I'm beginning to feel a difference through the weight coming off them. Poor wee things were buckling under with the strain all these years.:p

Got the Pret a Manger recipe book from the library a bit ago so going to have a look at that in bed after I've had my bath. Am looking for inspiration for more interesting lunches. They've got a lovely section sandwiches, wraps and crossiants.

Have a lovely evening and all the best for the weigh ins tomorrow.

Oh recovering - our posts crossed. Was just wondering as I was typing mine how you were getting on. I can see you're doing just fine. :)
Thanks for the author.. I'm going to do a search of the library catalogue and get myself one for the weekend as I've nothing going at the mo.. hate being 'bookless'.

    Hi,

Today I had dorset cereals flakes 45g in semi-skimmed milk.
    :T

Welcome, shawtj. We're all trying hard, but I think you've hit a vital point by actually giving the quantity!

Portion sizes are my downfall - I eat pretty healthy, low fat stuff, but usually too much of it! Mind you, a few glasses of wine don't help either - and I'm just off to France for a fortnight. That's not a place where it's easy to go on the wagon.

I know how you feel because I am a terrible stress eater too! On the operation front - I would much rather have a local anaesthetic than a general - in 2005 I had a cyst removed from my breast by local anaesthetic and I can assure you that, once they put the LA into the area you don't feel ANYTHING at all so don't worry on that score. They are really nice to you too and sometimes they have music playing while they are operating. Don't worry too much about it - if you put it off are you just going to be extending the stress eating period? If you get it done next week then it will be over with and you can put it behind you. Good luck with what you decide but please don't worry that you will suffer pain while they are operating - the local anaesthetic is really good and you will be fine!

Pebbles88 - I've had a couple of operations while awake.. a c-section with DS2 and a tumour removed from my hand.. and I found it much better than the general anaesthetic that I had with my first c-section and an operation on my foot.
I felt better so much more quickly and the staff were lovely. I had music, too plus the surgeon was singing along! :D
You'll be fine and I'd agree, get it over with. ;)

Well, I couldn't feel more different today than I did yesterday morning. I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed today and full of energy and positivity. :D
Helps that the sun is already making an appearance, I think.

    Food today:
    Readybrek
Ploughmans lunch with brie and HM seedy bread.
Herby cheese & bacon omelette with salad.

Snacks - apples and dried apricots

Am gutted that I have run out of red grapefruits. :( Was enjoying those each day. Morrisons did a net of 5 for 39p in their reduced section and they were as fresh as a daisy. Huge, too.

The Pret a Manger book was a waste of time. I didn't see anything that rocked my boat other than a recipe for brie and cranberry sandwich filler. Some looked plain awful!:p ie.. lemon curd, mint and mango sandwich  and Chocolate, raspberry and rocket sandwich. Still, horses for courses, they'll be someone somewhere thinking YUM!

So I'm still on my pursuit of new and original HM lunch ideas. I'm off to the library later to return some books so I'll have another browse and see what I can find.

Hmmm... I thought it was Friday. All day yesterday I was sure it was Thursday. Oh well, gives me an extra day to get stuff done before the weekend. :D

Have a good day everyone and keep going! ;)

pebbles88 i know how you feel. i've been told i have an impacted wisdom tooth which needs removing. they can do it under either local or general as i will need to go the hospital for it, but having no experience of either anasthetic (and being pretty scared of the dentist) i have no idea what to do. general scares me more but the thought of being awake.....well i'm sure you now what i mean!

aside from that i'm feeling quite positive today and raring to do!

    planned meals for today-

    l: crackers and hummus, smoothie
    d: corned beef hash
    s: cereal bar/fruit

right must get off, DS is demanding a wash  doesn't happen often....:rotfl:
