Morning all
Got woken up this morning by thunder and lightening, which turned to a hail storm and then a snow storm..all in under 5 mins. I love thunder storms -but the hail and snow was so bad you couldn't see out of the windows..glad i wasn't planning on going out today
mhe.... it will be our 6th anniversary this year...so not that longTook me a long time to find a decent fella -and i found him in Kosovo
..There was an appeal in best magazine in 2000 asking for people to write to squaddies and thats where i found him...well he found me
.... He always swore he would never get married whilst he was in the army, as he had seen so many crumble with the extra pressures... but he changed his mind and suprised the heck out of me..reall didn't see it coming :rotfl:
Cheerfulness... he is a little diamond... he has quite a lot of old ways.... every time we cross the road he swaps side so he is walking on the kerb side, always opens doors and doesn't let me carry anything if he is there... It took some getting used to.. deffinitely not something you find very often where i come from :rotfl:
It drives him crazy, when he buys me flowers or a gift...how many people assume its because he has done something wrong
Hope you are feeling better soon...take it easy and don't push yourself
Toniwotty... well done on the loss :T
Bemuzzed.. you made me laugh... had visions of loads of 5 year old running riot whilst all the teachers who were sat in a big heap in the staff room eating biccies and recovering from the mornings activities :rotfl:
Lil_me... you can soon whip that 3lbs back of again... come on -you can do it...;)
Rockie - i will be having the same thing for dinner again tonight mmmm i think they go together sooo well... hubby isn't a fan of avocado..so even when he is here i don't have to share :T
Hope OH made it home ok..

- lunch- smoked pork loin and hm coleslaw
- dinner -salad with feta, avocado and beetroot... and if i really push the boat out i may throw some prawns on there too

Know what you mean about the plastic ham mmmmmmmm
Does anyone know if not having butter/margarine on sandwiches makes a difference?
Also, am getting a pedometer later, how far is 10000 steps? Is it doable on a realistic, routine day?
Well done to all the losers! Big hug to the stay the samers and gainers !
Thank you I hope so stepped on the scales today and 1lb lighter than yesterday, AF still isnt acually here yet but its horizon sorry i know tmi.

Queenpig.. I'm not doing well either!! Maybe we should change our names to slinky malinky!! It may well all be relative!
I love plastic ham *shame*
if you don't have butter/marg the food doesn't stick the sandwich together and your innards drop out.. you could use mayo or salad cream instead though.. that holds it together!!
10000 is EASY to achieve in a day.. I do about 3 times that on an average day!!! 3 or 4 school runs and just cleaning up and shopping account for the rest. A school run is about 400 steps for me! Going to make a cuppa is 100.. I am so sad!!
Terrys chocolate orange bar scoffed.. 210 calories... pig out number 1 of the day!!!!!!
I shall save the other bar for tomorrow
Am I allowed to replace 1 of my 2 sugars in every cuppa with 2 sweeteners?? I know all about how crappy the sweeteners are, that they are banned here there and everywhere but the amount of tea I drink it WILL make a massive diference, and as I am only replacing half the sugar it should be better than replacing it all.. in theory.
If it makes you feel better I pigged out good style yesterday, i had, a triple chcolate bar, a bag of crisps, 3 chocolate digsetives and a yogurt as my snacks ggrrrrr.Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03

Then last night when I was collecting the children from school I seen a lady - ann a know, now wer're both friends to the same woman - Val. Now val was due her baby any day, so i saw ann with vals daughters getting all exited I though aw val must have had her baby!! So i asked ann "any baby news" she pulled me away she had a boy this morning but shes hemorriged (sp) twice and they we're battling with her.... it doesnt look good, i have been dreaming about her all night worrying to make it worse i didnt see ann, as she was going to let me know how val was and I don't know where either of them live ( have just got really friendly with val and now ann at the school yard)

Quick question about couscous...do you have to be as ultra sensitive once its cooked as you do with rice? I'd love to keep some in the fridge for those snack attack times, & hopefully also persuade the offspring to take some for lunch. I'm such a newbie to all this tho, cuz my lot rarely stray from the traditional english menu however hard I try:oFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Morning all,
Sorry to hear about your friend queenpig. Hope you hear good news soon.Quick question about couscous...do you have to be as ultra sensitive once its cooked as you do with rice? I don't think you have to be quite as strict - couscous is meant to be a type of pasta I think. However... I don't like it when it's two days old - it always seems to kind of stick together in a huge big clumpIt only takes 5 mins to make so I usually make it night before.
It's nice if you use stock instead of just water - or a bit of tom puree with the water - and then add your other bits into it
Had a bad day at work yesterday and got all stressy so went out at lunch to Sainsbugs but got low fat cakes and muller yoghurts - and didn't get the wine bottle out of the fridge, or eat the curly wurlies - so not tooo bad.(Did blow a bit too much of the grocery budget though
)
