Hi all
Hope this helps. My O2 contarct is up in end of june i phone 2 weeks ago to see if they can offer me any deal have been offered 500xnet mins and 100 text for £17.50 for 12 months and after bit of negotiation was also offered 3 months free line rental and 9 months at £17.50 and new phone either Nokia Pink 6111, 3250 or 6280. I think its a great deal at the moment they doing 500xnet mins n 100 text at half price deal which is £17.50 from £35. I am on o2 200 xnet mins with 50 txt at the moment. so when u call just tell them that u want to go for 12 months 1/2 line rental deal if they don offer u anything and i think someone said its too good tobe true! but its 200% TRUE :rotfl: :T0 -

and was it a 12 month or 18 month contract?
I was offered 750 xnet minutes and 750 texts for £25 a month with pretty much any phone I wanted for free. I declined because it was a 18 month contract so they offered 500 xnet mins and 600 texts for £20 and I chose the Nokia 6280 for free.
Just waiting for them to get the phone in stock.Sigless0 -

ok so the 500 xnet tariff one was 12 months contract?
I have noticed that lot of these offers made by 02 retentions are 18 month contracts.0 -

Have they given you a date when they're getting it?
I've had the 1st of may, the 5th and the 15th so far.
Just called now and was told the 2nd but to phone back on the 5th because the system needs three days to update????Sigless0 -
I am currently on 250 minutes tariff at £35 per month. When I called I was offered 500 minutes and 400 text (I dont really use text) for £25 per month for a 12 month contract. I said I wasn't interested in an 18 month one.
However the sticking point was the phone. I wanted one of those XDA execs but the guy said that I would have to pay £150 for the phone. He offered me the XDA mini for free. However I couldn't get him to include any data tariff at all and the O2 data is expensive.
I am comparing with the T-Mobile offer where for £31 per month you get 900 minutes and unlimited web surfing and emails. The latter is worth quite a bit. The phone is £70.
I prefer the O2 service as I make a lot of overseas calls through dial through numbers. Reading this forum Some people seem to have managed £17.50 for 500 minutes and 500 text. This would nearly knock £90 off the £150 phone.
Should I be haggling for a better deal? and will an 18 month contract make a big difference. He asked me to hang on and then seems he looked up the T-mobile deal.
Great thread!

Thats exactly what I was told, not seen anything else posted on the net about it tho so I suspect its a marketing ploy for them to get out of giving him a free handset!0 -
mite not be a marketing ploy.i had my nokia in the other week and the guy said he gets loads of fones in.look in google and u'll c loads of problems.0
