I can see a lot of people are not having much luck with O2 Retentions - I can honestly say that there are still good deals available, there just really hard to get.

    Top Tips:

Be open and honest with O2 with what you want as a retention deal
    Be chatty and bubbly
Talk to the advisor there only to happy to help!!
Never be afraid to ask for that little bit more.

All customers who call O2 Retentions are now run through a system called "Vision" This system determines how much money the advisor can spend on you to keep your business.

The more money you spend with the network the better chance you have of getting a good deal, although I have to say that the two colleagues i've negotiated for are low spenders and just being friendly and chatty on the phone with O2 secured a great deal.

    Keep posting with your results!!

did the chatty thing tho the advisors i got had about as much personality as my thumbnail lol.. kept sayin thats the best we can do for u blah blah.. when i asked for my PAC i could almost hear him shrug his shoulders

i am not a big spnder (mainly cos they discounted it so much last year) but i do (did?) have 2 contracts with them but uwould still think they would want to keep them instead of letting them go to competitors

maybe u should do our all our deals matrix lol

The problem I've got with calling O2 Retentions for other MSE is that you haven't met me and would have to give me all your account details, ie passwords mobile numbers etc etc..

Thats what I do with people from my work, i call up and say that i'm not the account holder but have the account holders permission to speak about the account and give the advisor all the bits n bobs for the Data Protection Act, this includes the account holders full name, address with postcode, account password and date of birth.

If anyone wants me to phone up i'm willing to give it a try but please dont all rush at once as i work shifts and i'm tired when I get in!! :)

Tell you what if there are MSE out there who are wanting me to phone up and see whats on offer for them send me a PM, if I get hundreds then I'll pick a few and list the people who i'm going to phone up for on the main chat forum and we can see how we get on.

Remember if your sending me a private message to do this I need the O2 mobile number ( remember it must be a O2 Direct Mobile Number not a O2 CPW one ) Your full address including postcode, Date of Birth and Account Password. Tell me what kind of deal you would like, ie how many mins, texts and what phone you want.

Nothing will be changed on your account if you want me to do this, I will simply get a deal put together for you and leave the deal fully noted on your account notes for you to phone up and action and double check it.

    Hi

That's a great deal, but tell me ... was there a handset involved in this deal at all?

    Cheers.

everytime i called o2 to upgrade my contract, i got offered better deals. finally, i called again after thinking bout it and wanted the contract that they offered, they said they couldnt find any evidence of the offer and that i was making it up.

i asked to talk to the team leader and she suddenly went apeshit. she was bloody aggressive.

i was disconnected unsurprisingly. i was so !!!!ed off that i downloaded this program called solicall which u can use to record your voip calls which i was using to call o2.

i made sure the next customer assistant made me a really good offer before saying that i was recording the conversation. she was put in a corner and i just said, if you had offered it, surely it's possible. i played it back for her just to make sure i wasn;t bluffing.

she had no choice but to give me the ridiculous offer of 2000 offpeak xnet for £15 and a nokia n73!

if they play nasty wif you, u gotta go to extreme measures.

    my advice:

    call through voip e.g. voipbuster/voipcheap/skype.
    download program called solicall here
make sure u record the conversation so that u have proof of the offer.

What is the phone number for O2 retentions please?

I rang O2 - no idea if it was retentions or not - am currently paying about £25 per month (have a £10 discount) for 200 anytime mins & 50 texts

Was offered a SE W880i, the online 25 talker tariff - 250 anytime mins + 100 texts but no discount

    Can I do better?

    If so then how?
