I usually get the best phone I can and sell it on Ebay, I have a Sony E I am very happy with - that usually pays for my subs for the year0

I stated I wanted a free small in size phone on a twelve month contract and a good deal on both minutes and text.
was offered a SE 880 and 500 minutes x network with 500 text messages for £25 so have got a ten pound monthly reduction on current contract.
Anyone else got offered simliar or better.

Hi,
I am currently on 100 mins 500 txt's pm for £25pm. My contract is due to end early next month so I rang 02. 1st time I rang they said it was a fairly good deal and all they could do is give me a free K800i or W880i and stay on the same tariff for the next 12months.
I have just rang for the 2nd time and was offered the same 100mins and 500txt's But this time for the reduced price of £20pm with either K800i or W880i.
Is it worth me trying to get a better deal or do you think this is ok?
I really fancied the K810i but that would cost me £80 for the handset on my tariff. So I'm thinking of taking the W880i selling it on ebay and getting the K810i with the money.
Cheers,
Pete.I'll get me coat!0 -
Just rang 0800 0288151 (whatever o2 department that might be) and got offered free k800i 500 anytime mins 200txt 12 mth contract @ £25 p/m.
Considering I'm just coming to the end of my contract through The Link which cost me in total £45 for the YEAR, I requested my pac code.
Let's see what happens.....0 -

Pete there's nothing stopping you trying to squeeze a few more minutes out of them. Bear in mind I got 200 mins 500 texts for that amount, but i have been a customer of theirs for years and have another phone with them as well....0 -
I've just phoned for my upgrade. I was on o2 100 online (100mins 500txt) for £15 (was £25 previous year)
I asked what upgrades were available for me and she informed me that my tariff was going back to £25 next month, she said that I could go to £20 but I'd only get 50mins.
I told them I'd like to cancel and she said she'd put me through to the cancellations department. A minute later a guy asked me why I wanted to quit, I said I wasn't happy that I had to pay £25 from now on. I said I thought I'd be able to get a better deal online.
He said he'd try and get me a deal and asked what phones I wanted so I said Sony K810i or Samsung u600. He said to be get the K810i I'd have to be on a £35 tariff, for the u600 I'd have to be on a £20 tariff. I asked what I'd get for the £20 and he said 200mins and 500 text. I was quite happy with that but then remembered to ask how long the contract was for, he replied 18 months. I told him I only wanted a 12 month contract and he said they can't do that as all their future contracts will be 18months.
I then asked if I could have a 12 month contract with less txt/mins (I don't really use them) Eventually he offered me 100mins and 200 txt for £20 on a 12 month contract with a free Samsung u600. Not the best deal but I'm pretty happy with it. I didn't want to have the bother of switching providers to be honest.0 -
For those that are due to upgrade after just one year and youve been paying £30 per month i think you will be offered something good if our upgrades at that stage was anything to go by last year. Still cant believe what deal we got and are hoping for something similar in a couple of weeks when our upgrades are due again.
I have 2 identical contracts (me and oh) and on upgrade having been paying £30 per month for 12 months we got offered a new E900 on a £25 per month contract (this had just been released at the time and was high in demand) extra minutes and extra texts to make it 100 minutes and 300 texts and also £15 off per month so all we paid was £9.99 per month. The contract was for 12 months so in total cost us £120. We could have actually had a £6 per month contract but the minutes and texts that were offered with that i wasnt sure would be enough. The phone went on ebay (oh kept original D500)and made around £240, so we could pay the contract for the year and have a good bit left profit. I got the same contract at £9.99 but went for the Nokia N80 and had to pay £80 for it. Had to haggle a bit for this price and ring a few times as had been offered ot for £130 before.
So am watching this thread with interest to know what i may get. My first day i can ring is the 27th and im hoping for deals similar to these. I would like the N95 though.0 -

Let us know how you get on. I think we must have upgraded last year around the same time, as I can phone up as of the 26th. I have heard that they are not as generous this time round, but fingers crossed hey!0 -
Was origibally offerred:
Nokia 6300 plus 400 mins and 500 texts for £20 for 12 mths and £30 for a further 6.
Called back, then was offerred:
Nokia 6300 plus 400 mins 500 texts for £20 for 18 mths
Called for final time, as decided i needed more texts and was offerred:
Nokia 6300 plus 600 mins and 1000 texts for £25 for 18 mths0 -
Having seen the three contract with 750 mins and 150 texts for £17-50 for the contract duration, I called O2. They hummed and ahhed and offered me 750/750 (I dont need that many texts!) for £30. They did not try any harder and the PAC code is on its way to me soon. I'm a bit surprised really, I have been with them many years now reliably giving them £30 every month - ah well, I hope '3' is good!

except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.0
