Is it really that much to ask for someone to send a one line email to confirm receipt? Perhaps I'm just unrealistic.

The very first book I sold on Monday, posted Tuesday and I got just that, a one line email, to say lady had received her book - when I saw it I thought it would be a complaint!!! (pessimist). She was thanking me for speedy service! :T

What you forget is that many people dont use the internet and/or emails like you do.

Many just order their book from Amazon never to return to check emails or anything.

  • Another fair and valid point Pete - some people have real lives :o away from the computer and if you don't have broadband logging on every few hours (or minutes - embarassed smilie again :o ) is hard to do

Thanked you instead of quoting you :D (I think you deserve it though!)

TBH I couldn't live without broadband which is quite sad really as I'm sure I would do a lote more away from the computer if I knew it would be less "convenient".

That original quote was not mine, just me not being able to cut out the bit I was replying to. It is true that people do not live for their computers and of course I think when you are selling it keeps drawing you to it. When I originally bought something from Amazon, I remember the seller mentioning something about feedback and I did not have a clue what she was talking about!!!!! As you say you just order whatever it is you want and that is it.

I have some stuff that finishes on ebay on Monday evening and I have to go out - that will be a good thing, so I am not hovering over the auctions to see if anything is going to sell. It is so addictive, but at least Im not comfort eating at the moment :D

PS. Can anyone tell me how you just pick out the bit of a quote you are replying too and not repeating the whole post again?

What, you mean like this? :p

Just edit out the text you don't want to quote, leaving the <QUOTE= > and </QUOTE> bits intact.

When you click on the quote button (in the bottom left hand corner) of the message you want to quote it takes you to the page with the whole message quoted.

The following in read is the tag for quoting 0 Ignoring the [ CODE ] tags.

    [code]

YOu can remove bits of text you don't want to include by simply deleting it.
