Have you looked at your seller account page yet? this has all your listings (open and closed) so you can see if the listing is now properly closed with no duplicate listing still open.
This page is the key page you need to get your head around - everything is there, including all the transaction details with the item number so you can look at the page listing again for reference, the buyers email and postal address and all the other bits of info that you need0 -
OK here is my e-mail to him and his reply.
Hi
I have removed the item for sale as I am concerned about your method of payment. I would prefer to use the Amazon marketplace payment system for your protection and mine.
I have only one currently but could have another in a day or so. (slight fib on my part but I can get two within t
The camera is the box sealed by Canon and is old stock from the Canon warehouse, it is to all intents and purposes brand new and comes with a full one year warranty.
If you are still interested please just get in touch.
Many thanks
His reply:-
I will like you to get back to me with the total cost of the item including the shippment fee internationaly via royal mail, and also your paypal email address for the payment. If you want this transaction to take place via amazon, you can relist it and get back to me as soon possible so that payment can be made asap.
Slight fib on my part (saying I had one item) but I can get two within 2 days but thought I had better remove the listing in case someone else bid.
His e-mail does not even mention where he is from (I will ask him in a minute). If I deal with him through the marketplace am I covered? Will need to check out how much Amazon pay for international P+P. This doesn't smell right to me!!!0 -
Ah.....
I now see that Amazon doesn't cover postage of electronics etc overseas. That will be why he was asking to pay through PayPal etc. Have just asked where he wants it to go. Might put it up on EBay for him.0 -
You sound as if you know what you're doing with this - It'll be interesting to see how it all works out0

Oh well guess that one is dead...Nigerian scamster by the looks...lol
"Items will be shipped to nigeria where i am right now for a new contract which has just been signed for. If you want payment via amazon, i will add 10 pounds to payments for the shippment, and amazon will include 5.01 pounds as shippment fee making 15 pounds, and also i will be using my home address in Bath as the payment invoice, and deleivery address in nigeria."
And my reply:-HiGuess that will be the last I hear from him??!!!
The only way I will ship to Nigeria will be through a bank transfer direct to my account. Unfortunately there are too many problems with trades to Nigeria for me to contemplate any other method.
Let me know if this is acceptable0 -
Is there nowhere safe from Nigerian scams!0

BTW, I've now sold 3 of those books in less than 5 days!
Also I'm definately going to buy my books from MarketPlace now, it is just so much cheaper especially when it's a 1p item!
Sorry. I pressed the Thanks button but had to dash off not long after (another burglary at work _pale_ )
I've only ever bought on eBay and sold on Green Metropolis, but is it as easy to list on Amazon as it is on Green Metroplis do you know?
I'm a bit lost wondering how to do a 'comparison' - especially when some of the books are 1p
Congratulations btw0 -

The easiest way to see what money you'll get for your books on Amazon is to do a dummy run -
Use the search button to find one of the books you're planning on selling, look at all the other copies of the same book and see what everyone else is selling at.
Click 'sell yours here' and fill in the amount that you think that it would sell at
Click onto the next page and there will be all the figures you need which are their fees and the postage allowance that they give you, at the bottom of the page there is a line that says 'paid to seller £?.?? and if you are happy with that £?.?? figure then you can list your book for real
If you don't think that the figure is enough keep going back and play with the selling amount until you are happy. By doing this you haven't put the book up for sale, you need to do one more click before it's actually listed.0 -

Phew .... thanks apprentice tycoonI'll copy and paste your post - I seem to go from page one to today - everyday
The only reason I asked is: books like "About a Boy" for instance, are ten a penny aren't they? So are books like that worth trying to sell sort of thing.
But good practice even if that particular book doesn't sell (if that makes sense?) I seem to have a houseful of 'beach books' lol.
I'll try a specialist book after that, but I'll try what you suggested first:)
Thanks again .... I was tying myself in knots over something that's probably as easy as buying from eBay0 -

I'll take you through the 1 penny book scenario -
The book will sell for 1 penny, they give you £2.75 to post the book so you now have £2.76
They then off take 86 pence selling fee, then 17% off your selling price - and since your selling price is 1 penny it is zilch, then they take 43 pence off your postage fees for admin so you now have £1.46, less 6p for VAT so they are giving you £1.40 in total
A small paperback in a light bubble envelope will cost you either 58p, 71p, 83p or 94p to post 2nd class so in theory you can make as much as 82 pence for yourself out of the postage allowance, you have to pay for your bubble envelope out of that but if you pick up the bubblewrap from around the fruit in Tesco and use an ordinary envelope then your packing costs will be almost nil - so a small profit, you can see why the weight of your book is critical if you are selling so low0
