Hi,
Does anyone know of any gyms within walking distance of the city centre, or anywhere you can go swimming or to classes at lunch time or first thing? I know there's one in Adelaide St., but I don't fancy paying £40 odd a month, when I would only use it during the day.
Thanks!0 -
High folks, new to this thread. Just wanted to post some findings. My OH joined weightwatchers before Christmas so I'm sort of doing it to by association. We have noticed that the weightwatchers brand foods are not always as good value in Supermarkets like Sainsbury or Tesco's. SPAR ar currently doing 4 Yoghurts for £0.75 special offer while Sainsbury's Special offer on the same product works out over £1.00. I've always maintained that the Big supermarkets are not always cheaper..
It pays to shop around..
I've lost over 8lb since christmas.. mind you would need another 20 to get to to what I would like.. but hay.. a good start... Bring on the Summer!!0 -

Made it to the gym this morning, very proud of myself cos I nearly didn't gobut forced myself out of bed and got there.
I managed 200 cals of aerobic excercise which is not great but really felt like a lotand also about half an hour of weights. Which means my arms will be killing me tomorrow but worth it. I noticed dreaded batwings starting to appear but hopefully I've caught it in time!
And made soup last night so a nice sensible lunch ahead too.
I think the endorphins kicked in
That's more like it!!!!! :T

I am just posting to keep my resolve up. I am NOT hungry so why do I want to go and eat some cheese and crackers. When I've just had porridge. Honestly I don't know what's going on with my appetite. Or desire to eat
And I am gonna be stiff tomorrow from all the exercise!!
cheers for the good wishes Tara, hope it's going well for you too...0 -
Since I started my bento lunch boxes, I found that I'm not hungry in the evenings and don't want to nibble! I have also lost 6lbs in the past 3 weeks since starting the boxes as well0

I get recipe ideas from Lunch in a box and Just bento
Boxes I have bought from J Box and Japan Centre
You don't need a special box to start though, all the bits and bobs are optional. A good sealing box such as a lock and lock one will do just fine. There's a good starting guide on finding the right size box for you and how to work out calorie intake HERE
This will give you an idea as to what I put in my box
broccoli florets, home made potato croquette, egg strips, 2 rice balls (very filling!) go ahead cereal bar.
The pots in the box are sweet chilli to dip, soy sauce for the rice and furikake for the rice. It's a rice seasoning and very tasty!
I eat this through the day, most days I eat the cereal bar on the way to work as breakfast. Then when I have my tea at night that's it. I'm not snacking all through the day as I used to and I'm getting a better intake of fruit and veggies as I'm using more in my box!
PM me if you need any more info as I have loads of links I can send you

i have been recently reading the atkins diet book. Our bodies will get used exercise and we wont lose weight. I went to the gym for a year a few years back at least 2 times a week and didnt lose a bit. unless you diet you dont lose the weight last time i diet'd i lost 3 stone and never exercised once:rolleyes: really healthy but dieting is the only way to lose weight. exercise + diet would be the ideal i just havent been able to manage both. :rotfl:Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -
