I still can't find my pedometer
I know I did over 14,000 steps yesterday - walked to and from work, walked round shops for about an hour at lunchtime and walked to and from a friend's house later in the evening. But it would be nice to measure it...
Today I reckon I did about 10,000 or so - just guessing.
Eating has been mixed. Lots of healthy porridge and veg soup - but some snacking as well. Can't wait to find my pedometer.
I'm on a really tight budget this month too, some friends' birthdays coming up but I still intend to meet my savings targets. I'm living on £400 for the month, not including rent. I've only spent £15 so far! :T So that will give me something else to focus on. It's good to be concentrating on waist and wallet at the same time, they both require discipline after all!

Sorry tara, I have pretty much given up for the rest of this week...fingers crossed this is the end of the mad time and it will all start to settle a bit.
On the bright side I did lose a little weight this week. I'm now at a 31 bmi and would love to get it down below 30 (so not obese any more!) by the end of the month. I think this is probably only a few lb realistically so this will be my goal.
I'm very impressed by your discipline with money too. It's all gone to hell in a handcart for me unfortunatelyif I can get time to do my expenses it will all straighten out though...
Hope you're doing okay...0 -
hey Tara how's it going now? not great last week for me but hey ho this is a new week and a lot more settled work wise so I'm hoping to get back with a bang. Gym this morning although didn't do quite as much as I would have liked. And I resisted the urge to go buy a cookie for elevenses. And have nice healthy wholemeal seed bread made for lunch (with tuna). Turns out that we're eating out tonight though, DH had some good news and is insisting! Will try for somewhere healthy  but there will be wine!
Hope your absence doesn't mean that you too dropped the ball for a few days, you were doing so well!!
here's to a new and sensible week!0 -
Hi there!
I've just been doing pretty badly - I lost my pedometer for a few days, which really put me off. I am so sad that I actually like knowning how many steps I've taken etc! Anyway, I found it again the other day so am very happy. I've been measuring my body fat, it's fluctuating between 28.6% and 30.5% on screen! I'll be happy when I see it going down and staying down...
I had a very lazy weekend and am determined to get back on track this week. Here's to us!
p.s. do you know of any running/walking clubs in Belfast?Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I know the up and running store have running clubs and I believe they are having a get together on Wednesday night - see this thread http://talkback.upandrunning.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=urbelfast;action=display;num=1224065989
I have a friend who is a big runner and would go out on some of their runs and says they're a nice bunch. Not a runner myself thougha shame cos it is very calorie intensive!
Just had a HUGE dinner (risotto, very nice) and two glasses of wine so no more food for me tonight! Managed to get a bit of a walk in at lunchtime though so not as bad as it could be!
Glad you found your pedometer again, good luck for this week!0 -
Sorry, I've been away and doing not very well on the eating front. I've been keeping up the 10,000 steps - today was the best day for a while though.
15,210 steps
4.89 miles
247 calories
Very pleased!!!
Body fat monitor is currently showing 29.7%.
Foodwise, I could do better. I skipped lunch today as I had snacked so much this morning I may as well have had lunch. I felt better, not so stuffed this afternoon and really ready for dinner. I have obviously just been overeating in portion sizes as well as calories...
Must check out Up and Running, thanks for the tip.

Things a bit eaty here for me as well, out for lunch on Tuesday and had a HUGE fish and chips. Luckily could hardly eat the rest of the night so not too bad in the end. Did make it to the gym every morning except today and was lucky that I've had to fit in walks for work anyway so I am improving on the exercise front - which is also meaning I sleep better and it's easier to get up for the gym. Opposite of a vicious circle
Haven't weighed myself yet this week though so we shall see....
Well done on keeping the walking up!0 -
Today's eating - not that much all day, then a BIG dinner!!
Exercise-wise I am doing ok:
10,689 steps
3.19 miles
159 calories
The calories burned sound like !!!! all, but when you add it to your basal metabolic rate it all adds up...
Anyway. Not too bad a day today.
My spending is very restrained too! I've only spent £109 since 1 November including bills (except rent)! :T
You've done really well. Fair play to you for continuing with the gym-going and the virtuous circle, I salute you. :beer:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

My virtuous circle (let's call it a halo
) has a few breaks in it. Someone brought a tin of shortbread biscuits in to the office yesterday and I made my way through SIX biscuits over the afternoon. Which I did not need. And just had another 2 now. Getting rid of the rest. they were yummy though
But I did make it to they gym and actually had the energy to do a pretty intensive workout so maybe the sugar helped there. And will get about half an hour walking in later this afternoon.
Foodwise apart from the biscuits not too bad. Though I think I really need to sit down and plan for eating more veg next week because it's all been a bit carb heavy this week. At least next week is a bit quieter again so it gets easier all the time.
Hope you're doing well Tara - and fingers crossed for the weekend! I'm eating out tonight and tomorrow night so will def have to get a bit more exercise in!
Edited to say well done on the spending by the way. I'm already pretty close to overdraft and it's only the middle of the month although I do have some money due for expenses that should help get things back on track...also need to think a bit more about Xmas....but I have managed to make my saving targets for the month tooand hopefully should manage to for next month as well...

I've been doing well with the exercise. Yesterday I did:
15,661 steps
4.86 miles
267 calories
Today i didn't have the pedometer with me but have walked for about 3 hours, so that's good.
It's the eating I need to improve on! OK, confession time. I bought some of that Lipobind stuff on eBay. Have you heard of them? It might not work, but then again it might. This is the first time I've ever tried tablets to lose weight, and I know I shouldn't... but I am going to give them a go. Fingers crossed.
Never mind about the biscuits, sure you are making good plans for this coming week. And well done on making your saving targets! :TGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
