Hello again, good on you for going to the gym especially at this time of year! And well done on getting back on the wagon foodwise. :T

The baby was lovely, she hardly made a sound either. I had FOUR slices of toast for 'dinner' and 2 oat biscuits when I got home, me bad! But I did do a lot of walking yesterday (my friend with the baby lives in East Belfast and I live in South Belfast):

    18,628 steps
    7.81 miles
261 calories (is that all????) :D

    Very pleased with myself anyway!!

Today I have had two brazil nuts and am about to have some porridge for breakfast. I've taken 3,289 steps so far this morning (1.57 miles) and burned 61 calories.

Here's to a good day of sensible eating... good luck to y'all too.

I ended up having toast and butter  for breakfast instead, an ex-workmate arrived and we went to the canteen for coffee etc etc etc. So much less healthy than my nice porridge, and not as satisfying...

Ah well. I'll make an extra effort to be sensible for the rest of the day.

I am starting to think that only belfastgirl23 and I have a weight problem out of the whole of NI!!! :rotfl:

    Today's progress since breakfast:

    Steps 8,777 (total 12,066)
    Calories 140 (total 201)
Mile measurement has changed to KM, argh!!!!

For lunch I had a big bowl of homemade veg soup and two oatcakes. Feeling very virtuous after my butter incident this morning!!

I have been snacking all afternoon... 5 oat biscuits, 3 oatcakes and an apple. The biscuits were NOT a good idea. I feel ashamed.

  • Well at least it's healthy snacking - oatcakes are hardly the same as biscuits! And do fill you up...

I do think the cold makes it a lot harder to eat less, personally I'm almost constantly hungry these days...

No gym this morning and another mad day, had a meeting up by Newcastle and it was a horrible day to be driving. Luckily too horrible to be tempted to stop and eat c**p. I did have pizza for dinner though, HM and controlled calories. And didn't make it to my class cos it took me so long to get back from the meeting - stuck behind someone driving at 30 mph!!

Anyway will make the gym tomorrow and have a meeting in town so that will be antoher bit of exercise....

Hope you're feeling full after all the oatcakes!

I was on my own last night so just had some pasta and tomato/basil sauce, couldn't be bothered cooking. Today I've had porridge (yum), 3 oatcakes, 2 mint sweets and tinned chicken soup and a roll for lunch. Not the healthiest lunch but I'm cold and it was quick...

I've been walking plenty though, yesterday I managed 15,631 steps. Today's total so far is 6,311. You're setting me a good example with your exercising, belfastgirl! I want to focus on that as well as healthy eating. Body fat reading this morning was 28.6%.

Speaking of healthy eating, my colleague has just gone and bought a Twirl for us to share (!). She's so nice but I am going to try to resist...

  • Halfway through a bag of crystallised ginger :o your post made me dump the other half. Thanks! Besides anything else I am beet-red, it is spicy!

Anyway not too bad a day today although I did make scones last night for someone and ended up with a load left over so I had 1.5 today already - although without butter or jam so not so bad. Usual brekkie and some ciabatta for lunch with oil and vinegar (in a rush as always these days!). Think we might have pasta e fagioli tonight, will probably go for a hot version since dh is permanently cold these days (I won't let him put the heating on :D or at least not too much)

Oh and went to the gym :D and got a bit of a walk in as well.

Hope that makes you feel better about your measly half twirl!

    Alas quickly.

They sell it in Holland and barret, it's basically ginger cooked somehow then rolled in sugar. about 300 cals per 100g if you're interested....it is nice and not too sweet. But not good to sit and eat the 125g bag though - thanks for reminding me not to :)
