Not doing so well this last couple of days. Had a lot of social stuff over the weekend and yesterday I just gave up the ghost, I was so sick and tired of being wet and cold
Today not great either but I'm clambering back on board again...
Good to see you back Tara, maybe it will inspire me to pick myself up again. Especially if the weather clears up at all. I can cope with walking in rain but monsoon is too much for me!0 -

Thanks. It's good to be back. I've done ok today food and exercise-wise.
Breakfast - muesli
Lunch - chicken and salad sandwich with light mayo
Snacks - half a KitKat (I shared it with a colleague), a Digestive and several mint imperials (baah), and two peaches
Dinner will be healthy and I will try not to snack again today.
I always bring my own lunches to work, does anyone else? It's very MSE and also tastier than the cafeteria options...
I did two hours' walking yesterday so am pleased about that. One hour done so far today and am aiming for another half hour on top.
Update on the Adios - the first weekend I went to the loo a lot but hardly anything since then, strange! My appetite does seem to have reduced/stabilised though. Have you tried it? I think I'll finish the pack and see what happens. And I bought piao yi tea the other day so am drinking that too.
Agree about the rain, it is very miserable!!! But nice and dry today, thank goodness - and yesterday evening was lovely.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I've been ok the last day or so. I've walked for about an hour and a half today. Muesli for breakfast, cup-a-soup and a roll & butter for lunch, about to have pork chops and spuds for dinner - but have had a few sweets and a TimeOut. And the butter was naughty too! Bah.
I haven't spent much though, so that side of things is going well! Any updates from anyone else?

Okay I'm back again. Been doing a lot of eating out for work this past few days and although I have been going to the gym and working out hard, today was the first day I got any proper walking done. I just couldnt' motivate myself to go out in the rain. No loss this week but I guess I should be pleased it wasn't a gain...glad it's going well for you Tara.
OK just under three weeks till I go on hol gotta get back with the programme. Had fruit salad for dinner which feels positive, although I did have a huge lunch!!
edited to say though that i am spending money like it's going out of fashionreally need to get a grip on this, already in overdraft and don't get paid for another week or so...this isn't like me...think I can only focus on one thing at one time...

Hey guys, how's it going?
After a scary gain a couple of days ago I'm back where I was again...honestly it is starting to drive me a bit mad. Although I had to have some medical tests lately and they did ask me if I was retaining water (something showed up somewhere) so maybe that's part of it?
Anyway made it to the gym today and had a salad for dinner so fingers crossed for a loss next week
And I'm trying to plan for being on hol as well, afraid I'm gonna put it all back on againanyone any tips?

Just come across this thread, and I would just like to say, honestly, GOOD LUCK to all those involved.
I am the ultimate fat Ba...you know what. I haven't a hope in hell of ever losing weight, and thus don't bother trying.
Those who try, you have my complete admiration.
Me, I decided to settle for an early death in my forties. It's less hassle.0 -
Sorry for dropping off this thread, thought I would resurface to say hello. I take my hat off to those of you who've been continung with your efforts to lose weight!! :T
I am blaming my extended absence on the 'old style' forum - based on recommendations there, I purchased a breadmaker, ice cream maker and yoghurt maker some months back in an attempt to save money, alas these purchases seem to have only resulted in my having lots of nice things to eat in my house, hence weight gain!
Going to weigh myself tomorrow morn in order to assess the extent of the damage..... and get back on the wagon....0 -
Hallo again girls
hope you're all doing well. I've been a tad too poorly to worry about loosing weight over the past few months but am hoping to join you ladies again. I found my uni ID today and had forgotten how well I scrubbed up before I got ill. I can't turn the wrinkles back 10 years but am going to try and turn the waste line back a little
I bought a great book called Eat To Live by an American medical doctor. It's really interesting and seems to have lots of sensible advice. His theory works on filling up with nutrient dense foods rather than fad diet foods. I'm hoping that eating a more nutrient dense diet will help my energy levels too. I'm only 1/4 of the way through the book but know a few people who've had good success with it saying that when they follow his advice they loose weight and aren't at all hungry :j
Anyhoo, I just wanted to show my face again in the hope it'll get me to finish reading the book and step away from the bourbons

Welcome back janren and sleepymy :)And hope you're feeling better sleepy...
I'm also trying to do the nutrient dense thing (albeit inspired by gillian mckeith but not necc following incredibly strictly). What are the basics of yours sleepy? On the Gillian stuff I do find that the eating seeds and nuts etc seems to help on the filling you up front. I'm also trying to eat wholegrain bread rather than white and cut way back on the pasta etc. And more pulses etc. I'm also focused on what I don't want in my body - so I'm avoiding sugar as much as possible, including in my two most dangerous forms which are chocolate and wineThat said we have a coffee morning at work once a week and someone brings in cake etc and I hate to miss that when it's home cooked so not being strict strict.
Lets keep going, fingers crossedGood luck with the weigh in tomorrow janren, believe me I know how scary the first one is
Tara how are you getting on btw?0 -
Okay well today was weigh in. And another lb gone (down to 12.1 from about 12.10). Had hoped to maybe lose a couple this week but heigh ho.
The other good news though was that I took my measurements and I have lost a total of about 10cm from bust, waist and hips in the last 2 weeks. So maybe there is a little bit of fat being replaced by muscle going on? This despite having eaten two scones last night - I made them for visitors and didn't succeed in giving them all of the leftovers
How are you guys doing this rainy tuesday?0
