I am here, promise! Just back from a work trip. Not doing too well with the old sensible eating (I bought a tub of mini rolls which is so far still sealed but tempting me!).

You are doing so well belfastgirl23! I too have a holiday goal (about 6 weeks away) but am finding it so hard to get motivated!!!

OK, I am going for a walk RIGHT NOW.

hey tara :wave: good to see you back. Well done on the walk. And my advice would be to open the mini rolls and empty them into the bin and put something really disgusting on top. Or leave them on your neighbours doorstep. Don't open them unless you have will power of steel....

I say as someone who hasn't stopped eating all day though all healthy stuff. B****y PMS and rain do not help at all. Though I have done my exercise :) so not all bad.

    Welcome back onto the wagon!
  • Anyone still around or looking for a wagon to jump on? I'm still pretty focused but hit a plateau lately and weight not really shifting at the mo - not too worried though cos my trousers are definitely getting looser and my legs have changed shape a bit. Oh and DH noticed that I'd lost weight which means it is def noticeable. Good job he knows not to mention if I've put it on :)

Anyone else? Tara? Wee bargain hunter?

I know the weather doesn't help though :(

I did see that and def gonna try it when I get another bit of the beef off :) We did go for afternoon tea one day from work which was delicious although the service was pretty fawlty towers which took the fun a bit away from it...
  • hey!
I used to be 7st 10lbs then due to pregnancy went up to 12 stone. I'm only 5ft4" so it showed!!

I got down to 8St 3lbs, but over the summer I've crept back up to 10stone. Yikes.
Currently trying to diet again, down to 9st 6lbs.

    Motivation is needed!!!

    Hi rudedoodle and welcome...

I know you're saying yikes now but I'm around the weigh you were before (12st) - try to remember how horrible that is and this might help with the motivation. Cos if you're not losing you're probably gaining :( or at least this is the story of my life....

Have spent most of today resisting eating something I shouldn't, hopefully tomorrow will be better...
  • Oh god I know. The minute you try to diet you start thinking about food non-stop. I start to want to eat things I'd never think of eating when I'm not dieting. Like I start thinking how much I'd like a ham sandwich!!

I find if I have a cereal bar for breakfast, then for lunch a jacket potato and salad, and for dinner a big massive Tesco or Asda bag of salad with salmon, or prawns, or any kind of meat... then I lose weight.

Is it just me, or does everyone gain weight just eating NORMALLY??? If I eat over 1000 cals a day I gain weight, it's not fair!

I gain weight by eating the wrong things unfortunately. And drinking the wrong things too :o Seriously if I eat healthily (but enough that I'm not hungry) and avoid eating rubbish and do a bit of exercise I can still lose weight or maintain. It's the scones and biscuits etc that do the damage...

Not a great weekend, too much socialising to not quite enough exercise ... still off the drink though which helps but I had my first dessert in ages last night (sorbet though so not as bad as it could have been). I also made the mistake of making nut biscuits (the infamous twinks hobnobs with nuts) for visitors and ended up eating 3 before sense prevailed and I binned the last of them :) Having my cholesterol tested in the morning so no gym for me - no way I could cope with exercise without some fruit or something and I have to starve for 12 hours before the test. Will just have to make it up later in the week....

OK, sorry again for being away so long. Work has been MAD. I actually can't keep up with any of the threads, esp. the 'overspend and overeat' one. So I am back and I am going to keep up with this one.

I have been doing quite badly foodwise, still munching the chocolate and biscuits. It has to stop! Moneywise I've been better, I'm under budget so far for the month and am probably going to be able to save £680 from my salary - which I am thrilled about. So having got my spending under control, I have to tackle the eating next!! How is it that I can resist something in the shops but not a KitKat???

belfastgirl23, you are doing amazingly well! I am so inspired!

Welcome rudedoodle, what a great name! I'm in the same weight range as you and it is tough to get rid of those last few lbs. Chin up...
