Hi Tara, well at least you made up for it - well done!

I've had a good couple of days, I'm starting to really feel the benefits of hte new routine, I've been managing to up the walking and keep going to the gym. And have been eating healthily too although not necessarily low cal. I'm feeling a lot more energetic and just better in myself. Determined to keep this going - this is the stage when I always realise how much better I feel for getting regular exercise and eating well and I wonder just why I let things go so far...

I know what you mean. It only takes a couple of weeks of good habits to make me feel much better. There's actually a theory about it that it only takes 21 days to form a habit - will google.. I can't wait to get to your stage, reckon I'm a week or so behind you!

Got a punnet of plums on my desk and have had two so far. :A

No falling off the wagon today hopefully! Thanks for the moral support.

Had a healthy lunch (soup and a roll) but then had FOUR chocolate digestives half an hour ago. I feel ill - and guilty.

I won't let it get me down though, I'll go for an extra long walk and think about why I did it and how I can get out of the way of temptation...

Oh, today has been very mixed! I've eaten a baaaad amount of chocolate, but balanced it with a healthy soup/roll for lunch and salad for dinner, and also walked for about 2 hours. If I hadn't had the chocolate I would feel a lot better. :o

But I guess it could be worse eh...

Sorry I've not posted for a few days, no idea why, just got distracted I think :)

Have been keeping up with things reasonably well and am upping my walking a bit again - I've also noticed that I'm speeding up a bit which is great. Not lost any more weight though :( but still eating reasonably sensibly. Apart from a choc biccie at a talk today - I couldn't keep my eyes open and was looking for something sweet to keep me going. But that's it!

Well done, you are doing so well and giving me inspiration. ONE chocolate biscuit is angelic compared to what I've eaten today. I've actually noticed since starting this challenge that I'm not really cutting down on chocolate at all, but am eating lighter meals to compensate! Not really a good thing - I know it cuts down on calories but still. I will try again tomorrow.

Anyway, I have walked for two hours and 20 mins today so I feel good about that.

Hi guys, thought I'd posted more recently than this...

Not doing too bad although I'm starting to feel motivation slip a bit. Have been doing okay on exercise but yesterday had 2 oatcakes loaded with peanut butter and jam. Yummy but a very bad habit to get into!! I'm also not really seeing results on the scales at the minute and this is bringing me down a bit, although it wouldn't surprise me if it was partly water retention with the heat this past few days. Tomorrow is official weigh in so we shall see - a good motivation ot have a healthy lunch despite the fact that I am starving!

How are you all getting on?

**edit** when I weighed in this morning I'd lost another .4 of a kilo (about 1lb) - would have liked to drop more but hey, I'll take what I can get. So that's 1.6 kilos (about 3lb) gone in 2 weeks.

    Everyone on hols?

Struggling a bit with the eating side of things myself but keeping up the exercise and still managing to lose a bit. Nearly half a stone down since I started :) and finding walking easier all the time - my ankles and knees have stopped aching so much.

How are you guys getting on?
  • Think I'm not an official member any more due to lack of weight loss! Can we have a section for lapsed members? Funny shifts at work and eating late seem to cause my downfall. Anyway I do pop in now and then to see what everyone is up to - just had to post when I saw your fantastic result Belfastgirl23. That's so good.
Bet you're really proud of yourself!

Ps oatcakes and nut butter are a VERY good gi snack. Not sure about the jam though! - maybe a tiny smear for taste?
How do you motivate yourself for walking/exercise? Any tips gratefully received.

Cheers for the kind words WBH, I'm just coming off a several month lapsed membership so I know what you mean :) In fact it's just the thought of traipsing around in the heat on holiday that's keeping me on the straight and narrow - you do feel every extra lb unfortunately :( I found too that it was things being mad busy at work that was causing my problems, I just didn't have any mental energy to put into eating well.

As for exercise I go to the gym very first thing before I have a chance to think of all the other things I could do instead of going to the gym :) I give myself one morning 'off' a week. I also go on Saturday. As for walking, I try to tie it to other stuff, so our petrol bill has stayed steady all through the price rises because I can convince myself it's cheaper to walk than drive. I feel guilty taking the car out for town driving now. I also try to extend normal walks - so if I'm just nipping to the shop I go around the block. I aim for an hour walking a day but I don't always make it if I'm honest.

I'm working really hard on myself to not let it all go on holiday. Work will be mad again when I get back and I just can't afford to pile the weight back on. I really was starting to feel it physically, especially in my dodgy knees which get really painful when I go much over 12 stone.

Go on. Just go for a walk now. Don't think about it, just put your shoes on and go. You'll feel better for it... :)

((talking to myself here too btw))
