Good to have you both back. Arkonite at least you're on a plateau rather than at a peak :) Sleepymy hope you're feeling better soon.

Had a pretty sensible day today despite having a couple of slightly stressful meetings :) also managed the gym and all snacks were fruit. DH worked heavily on me to go to Pizza express and I gave in in the end but tried to keep it to a minimum . Tomorrow is a weighing in day - so I should know the worst by then.

    stick with it!

Hopefully the walking will sort me out and get a bit of my wobbly bits toned up, that's all I want really :D

What's the best exercise to tone up your tum?? Anyone got any good ones? Please don't say hundreds of sit ups........ they make me sick doing them :(

I've been struggling too this last few weeks ....

time for me to stop fooling myself and start seriously working at this again ... i have given myself a good talking-to :rotfl:and come up with a plan of action including a return to writing a daily food diary and making sure I weigh myself weekly.

On a more positive note I need to start focusing on the positive end result again. Also ordered a pilates dvd, some stretchy bands, pilates mat, plus a powerball from amazon (with hope of toning up arms) and got all of those recently so need to start using em! Easier said than done, because I am the laziest so-and-so when it comes to exercise and I have even let my regular rowing sessions go to pot!

I reckon that we may have slipped/plateau'd this past while, but at least we haven't lost sight of our goals and we're not in denial about or ignoriing the situation, so good luck everyone with getting back on track this week :T

So I faced the dreaded scales and showed up at 12.5. I'm hoping the first couple of lbs will drop off fairly fast cos of the pizza last night (tends to make me retain water). Back on the wagon!

I really admire you guys who exercise at home. I've never been any good at that, I have to get up and out to the gym. Managed to get there this morning and did some upper body strengthening stuff which should help tone up the arms a bit. Arkonite sorry situps are the only thing I really know of for the tum. Although I have been doing side bends with a 5kg weight and I think that helps too!

Janren I'm with you, time to stop fooling around and take this seriously!! Well put.

Here's to another sensible day. I've got lentil soup out for lunch and plan a nice plain tomato sauce and pasta dinner (one of my faves anyway). Good luck...

way back in the day when i was a young slip of a thing i used to do situps too, but even then they were too much like hard work! No chance now...

i have been looking at (the back cover! :rotfl: ) of this pilates dvd i got from amazon by darcey bussell and it says that she always used pilates for her ballerina training, but that she also attributes pilates to getting her figure back into shape after having her daughter .... and i think i have read in other places about the tummy-toning merits of pilates ...

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Darcey-Bussell-Pilates-Life/dp/B000EHSY48/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1207079488&sr=8-1

not quite sure what these tum-toning pilates exercises consist of yet but i'll try to suss it out over the weekend and let youse know ... :D

I think it's a big grin rather than a cross smiley...

Personally I found pilates way waaay too hard work :) Even doing the first levels of the exercises had me in a sweat. I'll take situps any day :)

**edit** should have said that I think it would probably work though...

Good luck with the diet belfastgirl while you are away from home.

I haven't done too well recently, as I have been comfort eating because I have been very depressed and stressed :(

However, I hope to become more motivated in the better weather. I can't believe it I am now 11 stone 8 and I am only 5 ' 7"!!.

About 5 years ago I was 10 stone and 10 years I was 9 stone and 20 years ago 8 stone!

I would really like to be 9.5 stone again..... :)
