I've been huggin the mattress all week so not been concentrating on my diet very much :o Don't think I've been terribly bad but struggling to eat 'wet' foods due to nausea and craving carbs which has led me to eat some foods that don't agree with me.... but the two slices of real toast with organic pure were soooo nice :o

My Cirque du soleil tickets arrived this morning so I'll have to bluetack them on the side of the wardrobe to remind me of my first goal

Hope you all have a good weekend x

  • Hi girls (and guys?), I have been keeping a low profile too for obvious reasons. I am really pleased to hear your weight-loss successes - very well done - even losing one pound is a step in the right direction - keep up the good work.

I am taking a mini-break from weight-loss - it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and have been out for numerous meals to celebrate (and going out for one again tonight!) - how long can this last - it's not even a significant birthday - any excuse for eating out - it's my main hobby?

Anyway I am starting to feel really annoyed about not sticking to my WW diet and don't want to buy any new clothes in case I lose weight. Anybody any tips to motivate me - I really need something to get me back on the right track.

    Hi sassycese

Did you see cathy2702's previous post?

I found her suggested websites: http://www.mvm.com/en/index.htm and www.fridgegraph.com useful in particular.

I also got my mum to take a pic of me before i started my diet, (wearing clothes which did nothing to disguise my flab!)and stuck that on my fridge! Truly horrifying  but at least it got me out of being in denial about my problem.

I have had another pic taken since, and I can actually see that I have lost weight. :j

Thinking about summertime too I find motivating - this year I want to wear 'slim' clothes and not have to worry about buying clothes with the primary aim of disguising my flab!!

    Finally, I read this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Only-Fat-People-Skip-Breakfast/dp/0007176996/ref=sr_1_1/026-1740575-2581229?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1203861575&sr=1-1

  • Thanks Janren - I really appreciate that - I've had a look at the review for that book on Amazon and have ordered it. I may now go and take a picture of myself in my underwear and print it off on my computer and put it on my fridge - that should put anyone off overeating. I have to really start seriously tomorrow and will use this site to report and confess where necessary.
    Thanks - cece
  • Hi guys I am back hopefully with a bang :)

Not a good week for me last week, I was feeling a bit miserable and it showed in my eating. I've got to get back on the wagon now, not just for weight loss reasons but because I know I feel happier and better when I'm eating properly and exercising. I've got a very heavy month at work including doing some things that I know will be very good for me but I'm actively dreading (including having to be away for a week which is always a trigger point for overeating). But I also know that I'll find it all a lot easier if I eat properly and keep exercising - so wish me luck.

I made it to the gym this morning, had a sensible breakfast and am going out for a walk at lunchtime!!

Glad to hear you guys are doing well. Have to say the negative dieting does NOT work for me, I need to reinforce the positive but whatever works for you, go for it.

    Here's to a good week!
  • I'm not expecting any great results this week as I'm ill, again *sigh*

Hopefully it will pass pretty quickly and let me get back on track.
  • Hi there, seems like i haven't been here for ages but it was only last tuesday. Was on a bit of a downer so suppose time went slower? Not a good week. Have decided to pick myself up and start again so feeling more positive. Just thinking back now though, it wasn't ALL bad. I did manage to use the stairs a bit more at work and I used the exercise bike a bit (in VERY short bursts but hey it all helps!)
Glad you're back belfastgirl23, look after yourself arkonite_babe.
  • :A Hi guys I have had a good day and feel in a better frame of mind about sticking to this diet - interesting that several of us have said that when we are feeling down about something, we don't eat well. I always say that I need my head to be in the right place to stick to a diet - but life is not all roses.

I'm trying to think about what I have done in the past which has helped me lose weight and I think probably the most important thing was not letting a bad day ruin the rest of the week - if I did go mad one day, I would tend to just blow my diet for the rest of that week. When I got to my goal weight with WW before, I kept myself aware of that and overcame it. I also drank two litres of water every day which is very important and of course stuck to 18 WW points. So here goes, I'm feeling positive - hope you all are too. I will write a review of the book Janren recommended when I get it and read it.
  • It was weigh in day here again and i have another 2lb off this week, so that makes it a total of 10.5 lbs in 2 weeks. This week i am aiming to up my exercise activity.
I have been naughty today and probably tonight as well as we are off out to a party.

That's a mad amount of weight loss Irishmummy, make sure you don't run yourself down too much, the slower it comes off the better chance it'll stay off.

I was surprised to discover that I'd lost a pound this morning. I've been very poorly recently so was expecting to put some on, I'm just hoping it's not muscle loss :undecided

I started my treatment with the Chinese clinic on the Lisburn Road this afternoon and am hopeful they can help me gain control of my daily headaches and get a bit more active. If I find the treatments help I'll see if they can help me with some weight loss.

Hubby came to pick me up afterwards with the car smelling of chips  lil b*llox
