GB - I was running our fish tank down as I am squeamish about them but, despite all promieses to the contrary, I am the only one that cleans them. I was down to the last two and things were looking well until exoh bought dd11 lots of lovely new fish and plants last week:mad:
*moggins* - I can't remember what your job is but if its a large organisation or public body then there may be some sort of diversity policy that your manager is breaching by collaring you 5 minutes before home time - its at least discrimination against part time workers - maybe have a word and if that doesn't help then consider taking further action. my w8rk (civil service) are really good about that kind of thing - almost makes up for the rubbish payI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Hello everyone,

:j Well done Catowen! I know you were worried about losing those hours, glad it is all sorted for you.
(((hugs)))Taplady - follow the wonderful advice on here and rest up and let the family spoil you for a while. I felt so much better after my op that I wish I'd got it done much sooner.
:hello: Hello Moggins! Might be an idea to be a wee bit assertive with your boss over leaving on time to get your dd. It might just be she needs reminding that after clocking off time your priorities have to be elsewhere. Good luck!
It's half term for us and my week is already getting booked up fast! mainly with dental and hospital appointments though! I need to try to find some me time as well even if it's with my curly crocheting!:D
Take care
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Great News Cat. Hopefully you'll pick up another before too long.
Taplady Ditto with what everyone is saying. I would just do it for the tummy tuck. How exciting.Keep us posted.
Granny Your big boss was game to take you into the ladies after the last few days you've been in there.Obviously has no sense of smell.
Busygirl Enjoy your me time next week. When DH went away for work I always classed it as a holiday.
Well the Bowls Club was nice last night. Had fish. DGS coming around to visit this morning & I hope to do a bit more mending and yard work this arv. Weather feels like it's going to be humid again. I think someone down the road is having a garage sale as there has been a steady stream of woman walking past this morning. Maybe there is a good sort on the island.
Have a good night's sleep. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
We have just had a bit of excitement, the fire alarms went off, one of the residents put a frying pan on and forgot it...........the smell on our landing is appalling.....lots of hunky firemen running around, but no firemans lift down the ladder for me!! Boo Hoo!!!.........our new resident decided to go walk about when the alarm went off despite there being a notice on her door telling her to say in her room until either the alarm is deactivated or someone comes to tell her what to do!!!!!!!!! stupid idiot!!!!!!!!
After the alarm was switched off we went down stairs to find half the residents by the front door............all of them complaining about the new resident....oh dear........rebellion is on the move......................watch this space.........
I missed the end of the choir...............gggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so do not know what happened..................it was filmed at a school I know well.......................so I was very interested in what went on, oh well, guess I will just have to wait until next week. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Without a doubt although it feels a shock, you will feel some much better after its done Taplady. I had mine removed in 1981 and it was the best thing to happen to me .But do take note of resting and not picking things up. It is very important for at least three months .I couldn't even drive for three months, as driving was my job.No hoovering,or if possible anything else that entails lifting .No picking up shopping bags or irons ,even take care when filling the kettle .It's worth it in the long run as I was daft, and hauled the hoover upstairs and ended up feeling extremely and poorly back in hospital for several days
Emjoy being spoilt and let your family take care of you for a change .
You will recover ,but you must do it in your own time .Get lots of books to read and borrow videos or dvd's to watch. and sleep as much as possible to help your body recover .I know I'm a fine one to talk as I hate being stuck indoors and laid up ,but it will make you better quicker .Good luck and let us know how you are faring0
