Hi all, just wanted to say I have GE money - Debenhams Mastercard - they were annoying, but not horrid. They initially refused the DMP due to "recent activity on the account" but then a few weeks later changed their mind and accepted. Then I got a letter saying they didn't know about the DMP - so be prepared for the departments not to talk to each other ;)

They did keep ringing but each time I told them the DMP reference number and they said they had it but still kept ringing. Apparently the 5th guy to ring said they should have flagged the account so as not to call for X number of days until CCCS got in touch - so when he did that, I had no more phone calls.

When I did get calls at work I just said no it's not convenient to talk, I'm at work and won't go through security questions. They then gave me a number to ring back on after work. So had no problems just saying - Nope not convenient to talk. Bye ;)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

GR, from what I can remember (it was 18 months ago) when I set up my DMP with Payplan they were really quick. As long as you can respond to them quickly and have all the details of your creditors to hand then it should only take a week or two to get set up and running.

Many thanks for all your replies. Payplan have called sister and they have taken down some details. She's got another telephone appointment on Wednesday evening and then they'll go through it with more detail. How much surplus income do you have to have for them to accept you, any ideas?

  • It is £100. We had, luckily, £100.15 (hey that 15 pence makes all the difference) ;0)

:hello: everyone I'd like to join in too if I may?

I have received all my letters from CCCS to send out to my creditors and have my recent statements ready to post later today. The notifications to the creditors will go tomorrow when I finish writing them all out - I have 22 to do and a total debt of just under 32k  First payment is due 1st April and will take me 17 years and 5 months at the current rate. Hope to bring this down drastically with some savvy spending and selling anything that doesn't move. Anyone want a teenager ? I've got 3 to spare :rotfl: and believe me they don't move (unless I ask them to do anything then you can't see them for the dust trail  )

So can I have a number rayday? Pretty please with yellow icing :p

right here we go for the first bit of advice im after so please bear with me and i apologise in advance if it comes out as waffle!!

ive been with the CCCS now for a couple of year and am due a review next month. Having read a lot of the previous posts on here I'm wondering if i could now go it alone as i have a few smaller debts which i think i could pay off in the next few months and put that money to the bigger ones.

has anyone done this and if so how did you go about it? can i just stop paying CCCS and send the payments directly to the debters myself of do i have to let them know im doing it this way? or wold sticking with the CCCS be my best option?

i really feel like i want to get in control here and would be grateful of anyones comments
    Hi
I've just changed from CCCS to DIY DMP. I have to nip out now but I'll post again when I get home
