Afternoon all,
Just been catching up with everyones posts.....
Rayday - hope you manage a good nights sleep tonight. Will keep my fingers crossed for your friend & his family and the re-mortgage.
CBI- good luck with your DMP. I am in the same boat as you turning 30 this year and my plan is to have no debt by the time I am 35!!!
Lindsey101 - Well done for taking the first steps. I have just made my 4th payment through payplan and I can tell you it is the best thing I have done. I had about 60K of debt to start with and like you dreaded payday and never knowing how I would survive the month. 4 months on all of my creditors have accepted my DMP and I am well on my way. It is scary at first as like you all payments were up to date but I was borrowing from friends, not being able to buy food etc to do this...that's no life! Life is so much better now and I can see the end...although far off!!
Hope everyone is well this lovely day :-) xx0 -
Hi all :hello:
Well I've just had a look at the first DMP support thread and discovered it will be a year on 28th February since my first post on here and one year on March 1st since my first dmp payment to CCCS! How much water has gone under the bridge since then and how differently I feel about things! What a differance a year makes. Anyone out there experiencing the terror that only debt can bring can be reassured that there is always a way forward and even on the blackest of nights and in your darkest hours there will always be a light shining somewhere! Omg hope that doesn't sound patronising I'm trying
to be inspirational and positive! You will be hard pressed to meet a better more worthy group of people than you find on here and much of the advise is priceless. :T Good to see the oldies paying a visit :hello: kelly, teecee, smile - no post from Joek since May 07
- hope all is good for him and everyone else too.
Take care all. Love and hugs

I was the same, hadn't missed any payments and send off token payments. But when I sent token payments I also sent a letter saying I'm going on a DMP with CCCS and will give more details when I have it.
I had two people ring me. One to say thanks and we'll wait to hear from CCCS. The other said you've missed payment will you pay now  I just explained about the DMP and they said ok - end of call.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Thank you sorting it and newlywed! I really do apprecaite it. I kind of got myself into problems by helping friends, and sadly they arent in the position to help me (which is also making this situation worse as I dont want to them to feel bad for for a situation which I have ultimately only got myself into).
But the positive thinking is from now on, because life is far too short to be fretting so much. Just have to persuade my family of that now....
Hope everyone is having a good day0 -
Hi all
I have another recent debt problem that I need advice on. I have changed duel fuel suppliers from Npower to Scottish Power. However Npower have sent me a settlement bill of around £500 combined. There is no way on heaven and earth I can pay this amount in one go. I did'nt actually think the settlement bill was going to be that much either. I am sure I am being ripped off! Surely it can't be that amount I owe! What can I do here? Do I make them an offer of installments? Do I dispute the amount? Do I inform CCCS?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

hi hope no one minds if i join this thread.
in the process of etting up dmp with cccs and just need a couple of questions answered.
1) anyone know where i can get a copy of the 'notification of debt management plan' online?so i can print lots out as i don't have access to a photocopier, and i am not letting this blip stop me!
2)how can i change some of the details i have given to cccs regarding creditors? i forgot to add one!and i also need to take one away as i have managed to clear it:D . called cccs but they didnt seem very helpful as i seem to be in-between systems as i am setting the dmp up now?
help much appreciated as always!0 -

Hi Bolton
I'd definately check the readings, but chances are they haven't read the meter for a while and you've been underpaying - that happens to so many people it seems. I'd definately speak to CCCS they will have good advice for you.I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0
