Got my CCCS Welcome Pack on Saturday :j

The structured payments they've worked out are quite interesting. Even if Natwest don't freeze my overdraft interest my monthly payment for the overdraft is £40 above the interest so it will soon come done. The shocker though is my Egg loan. Payment is usually £444 on a £20k loan but they've offered £195 a month. £90 a month more than my measily £5k overdraft.

Oh well. Got my welcome pack, got my new bank account, DMP all setup to start 1st March with the DMP lasting 6 Years 9 months. Just need the creditors on board now. :rotfl:

I'm 30 this year, so first goal is to see if I can get my estimated DMP completion date before my 35th.

    Take care everyone
  • Well done CBI :T

You sound all set to go. My one regret is that I had done this earlier as I will be 51 when DMP Finishes. My god that makes me sound old. Going to take a cod liver tablet for my joints now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:and change into a pair of shoes that are one size to big for my feet :rotfl:

I am slow today spent all last night getting myself into a pickle worrying about the house valuation today, and the fact I haven't made any fudge for work, I have a course tonight not done the homework and a friend has fractured their back!

So of course got up feelign really pants like I had a party without the fun and things still seem too much lol

Valuer has been, can't change what he thinks of the house so must now put everything else into perspective!

Hope everyone else is more rational today!

Sorry to hear you are not having a good day. Hope everything pans out OK in the end for you though.

As for the fudge for work. Unless you work in a fudge factory and it is vital can you just explain that you did not have the time as you had others things on your mind.

No homework. Is there any chance that you can cram in some power revising ???

House Valuer. I take it that it did not go too well. There is a downturn at the moment with house prices. Know that is of no comfort to you but try not to let it get to you

As for your friend. Fingers crossed they make a quick recovery

Hope your day gets better :D

I just realised I sound a right drama Queen - me and sleep just do not go hand in hand!

Apologies for that. No idea how the house value went they always seem negative, I just really want this remortgage to go through, there is a lot hinging on it, and it all seems to good to be true.

I am going to the classic forgot my homework with so much on my mind its at home all done line. As for fudge I shall creep round the wonderful my ray and see if he can bring himself to stir a pan for half an hour.

Friend is in the lap of gods, hopefully I can fit in seeing them by the end of the week, its his wife I worry about they have no children and I know she is pretty much alone and he is her rock. Accidents always make me feel jittery it sort of illustrates how fickle fate is.

Sorry to burden you all and I promise no more drama Queen!
  • I thought it was about time that I actually said hello to everyone. I have been reading everyone's posts for a while and although some of them have petrified me (I think though that is has been my own worrying about what happens next that makes it all the scarier), knowing that everyone is going through exactly the same thing as well and helping eachother is such a big help too!

I am still in the starting stages of my DMP with Payplan, and am probably more scared about the token payment part to my creditors than anything else at the moment, as I (like it seems everyone here too) havent missed a payment before and even the thought of that is terrifying. But I know that i have had to do something to try and improve my debt situation :)

So I am looking forward to being here quite often and hopefully being helpful to someone else like all of you have to me!

  • Hi Lindz
I know it's scary defaulting for the 1st time but it's the only way forward. I started my DMP 5 years ago and was petrified because I knew I was about to stop paying everyone and we had 90k of unsecured debt!
The thing is if your anything like I was you can't sleep, can't function , life is awful. Once you've stopped paying your normal payments and let payplan take over I'll guarantee you'll feel better. You'll still have the occassional bad time but nothing like you're probably going through now xx
