Hi Just Me and Wen, I am new to this and have been reading loads of advice! I am around the same stage as you. I have just sent off my paperwork for a DMP with Payplan and will be making my first payment to them in 2 weeks (pay day).
I have made £1 payments to all my creditors this month and have had calls / letters already. Think it is becuase I have always manage to pay the min payment up until now (dont know how though)!
Will keep reading the posts for advice and posting when I get stuck / worried! Look forward to hearing your journey x

Angel Cake, you are mirroring everything I did when I had my LBM back in November. I am now 4 months into my DMP with PP (who have been fab) and all I can say is, it really does get better. I have 2 cc's out of 12 who haven't accepted but, so what, if that's their decision so be it. We will just have to wait and see what happens next. All I know is, the phone calls have stopped and I no longer dread opening the post and I have cash in my purse. I have an online account which always shows a credit and I have great support from the lovely peeps on this site. You won't look back!0

Hi Bigdi, thank you soooo much for those encouraging words! I felt so relived a few weeks ago when I called PP and had my first full nights sleep in ages. However, the last few days I have felt really down about it all. I think the reality of everything is now hitting home. PP have been great so far and I always feel better after posting on here!
I think I have to keep reminding myself how terrible I had been feeling up until I called PP and finally faced up to the demon debts!
I think because this is all new and my head is now out of the sand it is all a little scarey! I know things will get better and I also know I will have some 'off' days (today being one), but no going back now, just onwards and upwards. I just want to get to a place where I dont hate the phone ringing and the postman coming and my bank account is not red!
Tomorrows a new day !!!

Angel cake we are in the same situation in that we have never missed a payment (usually minimum payment) so it may come as a bit of a shock to our creditors when they suddenly don't get paid.Lightbulb moment: 14 May 2008Debt free date: April 2014DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 188Nightowl Member No 160

Yeah, PP warned me that some creditors may be a bit shocked by that. On a plus note, at least they can see we have been trying to pay back the debt.DMP Mutal Support thread No 193

Yeah they've gotta realise that some payment is better than none.Lightbulb moment: 14 May 2008Debt free date: April 2014DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 188Nightowl Member No 160

Morning:) We have always made the minimum payments as well. DH sent off token payments £1 last week with the letters so I am waiting for the calls to start anytime now. I work part time but have holiday which I am a bit annnoyed at as I will now be here when the phone rings, I know I don't have to answer it but I am one of those people who has to or else I will just sit and worry about who it was, stupid I know! I only found out how bad things were last Monday when DH got all the stuff through from CCCS as he hadn't said anything before that!DMP Support Thread Number 1860

OMG we are so similar. I am also one of those who has to answer the phone lol. Plus it was only through me opening my eyes and making DH tell me the extent of our debts that we found our way to here and to CCCS. You know what, he's had the best few nights' sleep since we talked about this and have dealt with it together and the atmosphere in our house is so much brighter.Lightbulb moment: 14 May 2008Debt free date: April 2014DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 188Nightowl Member No 160
