MBNA in my case used bullying tacts on me and made me feel useless and had me in tears!

Advice I can give you from my experience... dont panic or worry. Read through these threads there is a lot of advice and support here. If you are with Payplan, let them deal with MBNA. If they contact you, give them your PP reference number and hang up.

    Hi Angel Cake,

I'm with Payplan and have been for just under 3 months. I've just made my 2nd Payment.

My experience has been very good. I have 15 Creditors. 13 have now accepted and the other 2 have stayed quiet so neither myself or Payplan know what they are up to!

I think 10 of my creditors have said they will freeze interest, but all of them (except Lloyds Credit Card) said only from next month. So I think they are waiting to see 3 payments.

Barclaycard were ok with me - Mercers are just there in house collections team, so are in effect just the same as Barclaycard. Mercers did phone and write to me, but Barclays had already accepted my DMP - Once I pointed that out, they went away.

Difficult ones for me were Lloyds Overdraft and HFC Loan. Both have accepted now.

GE Money were the nastiest in their letters and calls, but they have also accepted and frozen interest.

It's taken most of the 3 months to sort everything, but I'm there now and have just had my first call and post free week! It did seem daunting at times and I went through a low spot about a month in but it's the best thing I ever did - I couldn't have gone on and was suffering severe stress and sleepless nights. Payplan have been excellent though it always pays to speak to someone - If I email, they usually don't answer the question properly.

So it's true what people say, things do quieten down and you'll soon feel in control.

I dont know if this will help any
Egg credit card and loan and Barclaycard - Debt is still with them, payplan pay them direct.

Abbey CC (part of MBNA group) - got sold to DCA, when DCA wrote to me I gave them my payplan details - now payplan pay them direct.

MBNA Loans x 2 - got sold to DCA, as above when DCA wrote to me I gave them my payplan details - now payplan pay them direct.

Abbey bank (overdraft) - got sold to DCA, as above.

I actually found the two DCA to be nice on the phone, and were more then happy to take my payplan details. Its been a long hard struggle for me to get this far and although some days I get down about all this debt and being in a DMP I am better off then I was a year ago.

[I've never told anyone any of this before only my best friend and huband are aware]

Thanks Tigert and MclarenGurl, that has made me feel a lot better. Think I am just feeling low at the moment as there is not a day goes by without a letter or phonecall!
Problem is with the calls that most are call centers are do not even listen to what you have to say. Payplan told me they are all on commission so the more money they can collect, the more they earn! ]

Have now got caller display on my phone and dont bother answering it!
Has anyone had any dealings with NatWest and how did they react to a DMP?

I just unplugged the phone when I didn't feel up to calls!

When most of my creditors had accepted, I went on the offensive and started phoning the ones that hadn't to see why. That took a couple by surprise notably Lloyds who were still rubbish and took 2 weeks of me phoning until I got someone helpful!

    Hi,

NatWest is my biggest creditor, I have cc, od and personal loan with them. CC got defaulted the quickest and as soon as I sent them my offer (after paying token payments for two months) they wrote to me and accepted and froze interest. Never any phone calls from them.

OD and loan have both been defaulted now and I think the time they gave me to action on them will run out this week so I am hoping to get letters from them with accepting the DMP soon. No calls except when I sent them a letter after getting the default notice about the interest and other charges (od) they called and said that it has been transfered to specialist team and only they have the authority to freeze the interest so actually I am in a situation where I am looking forward getting post from them.

I am doing my DMP myself and all the creditors have been fine with it.

Well we've done it. I've just sent confirmation to CCCS that we are going ahead and will be waiting by the front door for the pack over the next few days!

I'm nervous about the phone calls that I am likely to receive but also relieved that this is finally being dealt with.
