Carlos I will pm you with a letter I sent Lloyds when they were making out there was no contact. You can edit it, ignore it or use it I don't mind. Can't post it here too much personal info!

PS if you do use the letter remember to put formal complaint at the top and sent it recorded delivery. Also if you have a read of the following link

    http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/consumer_credit/oft664.pdf

see if there is anything else they have done and put that in the more you have on them the better. I am pretty sure I forced Lloyds into getting them to do what I wanted so give it one last go see how it goes. Phone calls are wasted with them one department does not speak to another.

Good luck and if there is anything else I can help you with just shout!

Thanks so much rayday for that i am so grateful for your help i will send them a letter and let you know how i get on .

Thanks also tigert for your help

    Hello everyone,

I've got my forms sitting here, from the national debt line, which I contacted via the CAB. Please can I be added to the group?

    I owe:

    2200 to Tesco mastercard
    500 to egg visa
    2000 to Virgin MBNA Mastercard
    and 2000 OD with HSBC.

I'm transferring my pay from HSBC to my new alliance and leicester current account on pay day, thursday before I send the forms off, as I know HSBC will cancel my OD and it'll be a nightmare to withdraw my pay.

Couple of questions if anyone has any guess or knowledge to the wiser

    1. Could alliance and leicester cancel my bank account knowing that I've now taken on a DMP? (FYI, its a premier direct account).

    2. I have a hire purchase for my laptop with MBNA that I'm halfway through. Could MBNA cancel my loan for the laptop, as they are behind the Virgin Mastercard I owe on?

Other than that, I'm trying not to fret, and by browsing the forum, I've seen enough letters to cover nearly all eventualities! Excellent! Thank you everyone,

    Hi Etherelda,

Welcome to the group. You'll find loads of support in here.

    In answer to your questions.

    1) Very unlikely as you have no debt with them. So long as you don't take out anymore credit (which includes overdrafts) whilst on a DMP you should be fine. Most people including myself go for basic accounts, but in my case that's all that my credit rating would allow.

    2) Not so sure but I think Hire Purchase is secured. So full payments will continue (certainly the case with my car). So if they are getting paid, I can't see why they would cancel the agreement. Also there are rules around Hire Purchase which mean after a certain time, they have to go to court to cancel - if that is the case and they are still getting payment, I can't see why they would want to incur that cost.

Hope that helps - I'm sure somebody will be along to give you a better answer on 2) if I'm wrong.

Afternoon all. Could someone answer a question for me? If a creditor took us to court and we attended is this hearing in private or open to the public?

    Hi,

Mine was a private hearing if that helps....and I'd strongly reccommend you attending court - ask for it to be transferred to a local one if needsbe... It definitely helped me.

    Good luck.

    Rayday - I've just realised I don't have a number - can I have one please? - getting closer to 200!!! :T

Hi Everyone, my first post on this thread, so I hope you fab people out there can help me!?

I have a lot of debt (me n OH) and after months of rows, sleepness nights robbing Peter to pay Paul etc etc... i called Payplan 3 weeks ago.
Imediatley, the relief was great, I had my telephone interview 2 days later and the suggested a DMP.

All the paperwork arrived, has been completed and sent back and they have started to contact creditors.

I am now on a bit of a low, I think the reality of everything has hit home. Also, as this is the first month I have not paid CC etc... (only £1 tokens) the letters and calls have started.

I know from advice others have given me that this will die down.

Could anyone out there share your experience with me? I have so many questions and worries......
    so here goes.....
So far PP have been great, can anyone let me know their experiences with them?

How long before things quitened down with your creditors?

Do PP manage to get interest frozen , if so, how long does it take?

I am worried about barclaycard as I know they have DCAs - Mercers, who are not very nice. Does anone know anything about them?

I would really appreicaite your help and advice

Many thanks for that itsnowtime. At the moment no creditors know there is a problem but they will very soon so just getting everything sorted in my mind so i know what to expect. It has put my mind at rest if anything ever goes to court then I would attend, was just scared that the general public would get to listen to all my money problems. Thanks again.

I understand exactly how you feel. As you can see from my signature I'm in a lot of debt and although i am now upfront with my friends that I am not in a strong financial situation I don't want everyone being able to listen in and know that I've had to go to court. - I guess I'm too proud!

As soon as I had my light bulb moment - I got organised - read these threads and really began to understand my rights / financial position etc.. - being organised, focused and determined is the best thing I can advise.

    Good luck.

Hi Angel Cakes, this is my first post in this thread. But from my experience Barclaycard were for me fine. When I joined Payplan they wrote to all my crediors I have had no issues with Barclaycard and my interest was stopped. MBNA on the other ... were awful!
