I think our standard of living is much better since a DMP we got the balance back in our lives and stopped being a slave to credit. Definately improved quality of live and we save for everything now so much better.
I don't think even those people I told in real life properly understand so its a waste of breathe but people just assume things are tight as we are a big family thats all they need to know!0 -
Hi all,
Not been on for a while, but i'm in work and thought i'd log in. Well, I got a letter yesterday from Egg and they have asked for the total amount of my credit card back, and have given me until the 6th of June to pay it - obviously i cant. Its a default notice, soooo, is this a normal thing to expect from them? Should I be really worried? (I'm not!) What will happen next? Any ideas?
I photocopied the letter and have sent the original off to Payplan today, I thought that best. I have paid my first monthly instalment on my DMP, but obviously Egg havent acknowledged that.
Any advice?

Hiya all
helped a friend get registered on this site so ive spread the word lol
Rayday, - ref MBNA, ive sent them a harrasment letter and also the data information held letter asking them to remove my telephone numbers and only deal with me in writing, so i guess since im getting the statements still with interest i could complain and advise them that they are not helping me in anyway. Ive sent rma and global vantedge the cca requests and they are now over the 12+2 day s awaiting on the further month to elaps so i can report them, Maybe a complaint to them now would give me a bit of breathing space too and they may consider looking into my case more fairly.
Good idea - will do that so i have more of a paper trail of the actions ive taken. Thanks again,
If anyone has managed to get interest and charges stopped on a dmp by mbna would really like any advice you can give me
Ciao for now have a fun day will log in later

Am I eligible for a number (what happens when you get a number)? I don't have a dmp yet but this is the route we are hoping to take.
I am going to pluck up the courage at some point to tell you people how much we owe.
Hello Just Me
If it makes you feel any better I owe (well) over £100K!! Not quite brave enough myself to put the full amount down in black and white! Don't think I have actually come accross anyone on the site yet who owes more than me!
Hello to everyone else too (old and new). I haven't been around much lately and not much to report really. Default notice this morning from Mint, but I knew that was coming as they told me and said once that was done they would accept DMP, so hopefully that is what they will do. Quite a few letters from Lloyds - the old "this account is obviously a low priority to you" letter - yes of course it is! They are getting the same amount of "priority" as everyone else ! They also keep sending me letters asking me to call them "urgently" but just ignoring them as I know they will threaten me and stress me out. Just hoping they will settle after a couple months of dmp payments.
No news on a new job as yet but thanks to everyone who was so supportive a couple of weeks ago :A - like I say I haven't been around much, kind of licking my wounds, but I am feeling so much better and I am sure something good (like a lottery win:D ) is just around the corner!

Hi Maz
I have no idea why, but MBNA agreed to our DMP straight away for 12 months at 0%. I was expecting them to be difficult so was really surprised. It's just another example of how creditors deal differently with no consistency. We owe them about £9.5 spread on two cards and before we started dmp, the payments were up to date, so I don't know if that makes a difference? Don't you have a NR loan tho, who have accepted your DMP? (or it could be Marru?) They won't accept mine!!
Loppy x0 -
hello loppy
thanks for your advice, im doing my own dmp been inspired by rayday but of course i have spoken with national debtiline and cccs on occasions, and here on this board been a great bundle of help.
There is possibly arrears of 28.00 on 1 card but they are wacking on late payment charges etc and interest , my 18 pounds is never going to clear.
So i think its best if i officially complain to them like what rayday said earlier, and as ive been paying them over the past 3 months okay and sent them the pro rata letter they have just got rma and global vantedge on to me.
im going to include the nationaldebtline letter that they are not stopping interest like my other creditors have and are still putting charges and interest on the account. I will also try and claim the past charges too, but will wait until i can get their agreement first,
Yeah a lottery win would be soooooooooooo coolllllllll.. bliss
back to reality,,,,lol
thanks again and no its marru who has the NR loan not me. Good luck in the job direction.

hello Wen
just read your thoughts above, yeah shopping in cash is now really okay at first was hard to process but am so surprised i can seem to understand what is really important and not so important.
Dont be scared i was about 3 months ago, but this board especially with the great people on here helps you address your concerns, no question is ever silly, ive learnt so much and it s making me more aware of a lot of stuff i just took for granted. Life is for living but its important to have your family and good friends around and have some fun too.
The debts will be cleared just now it seems so scary but have a plan of attack and keep to your deadlines and keep your wits about you too.
Keep happy ciao for now MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Aww Loopy
You should start your own thread/club The £100k plus…and ask if there are others like you.
I'm sure there are a few lurking…at least then you will have friends and people to compare notes with.
