Hello everyone. An up-date on the Capital One fiasco - OH rang Cap One and they apologised and said the letter was an error and to ignore it. So, I've put it through the shredder! Bliss!
Regarding IR - I can't help as I'm still going through an appeal regarding overpayments which began in 2006!*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
Hello. Haven't been around for a while, so update on my DMP. I'm in the fourth month with payplan. When i first signed up they all hit me with default notices. No more endless or harassing phone calls, now and again an odd letter, nothing to tell me if the companys have accepted my DMP arrangements or not. MBNA were the most harassing, received a letter over a week ago to say has now transferred to a DCA Equidebt, anyone dealt with these? I still haven't heard from them for more info or address or numbers etc. so we'll see what happens next.0

Hi all
A quick question! I have a Nat West Bank Account but want to swap banks to the Halifax! We already had a savings account at Halifax but want to change to a current account. With me being on a DMP would the Halifax accept me. I am on the DMP but my wife is not! I have had nothing but hassle from the Nat West! Thanks in advance.
Otherwise all quiet thus far on the DMP. Although I have enquired about going on an interest payment only mortgage for 6 months or thereafter whilst the Credit Crunch bites. Is this advisable and do I put some of the surplus cash into the DMP or not (as its not a permanenet arrangement?). The reason I am thinking of doing this is to boost my emergency funds as the car engine management light keeps coming on and I fear the worse?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

All you can do is try.
To be honest I have a bit of a bug bear about Halifax they wanted us to come in for a mortgage appointment. I explained over the phone we had bad credit and didn't want to waste their time but they insisted to come in with all our insurance paperwork etc. I even explained we were on a DMP.
We gave up a Saturday morning went in she sat us down did a credit check and then frog marched us out like lepers. Very off hand and annoyed we had wasted her time and it was her I had spoken to on the phone.
I would apply over the phone if its possible I felt so low life that day but rationally now I know that says more about them than me as I was upfront with our position they were more for sales.0 -
I have some good news!
This morning post brought letters from NW cc and M&S cc. Both have accepted my DMP; NW for six months and M&S 12 and both promised to freeze interest for those periods. :j
I must say that I feel lighter after receiving those letters. 2 down, 3 to go.

Just had my 3 month review as I used the debt remedy thing to sign up.
I went through it and because of things going up would have been paying £100 less to my creditors, but I wanted to keep the payments as they where so spent ages jiggling thing about to stay the same.
My payments will be going down anyway in November when my mortgage goes up so don`t want to rock the boat with my creditors as it is,especially saying that they are being so understanding.
So now after their advise I have to ring them up and ask for them to stop interest again!
Fed up at the moment as RBS latest credit card bill came today and nearly £90 on interest."Life is short even in its longest days".0 -
Hi rayday, hi everyone. I've been a bit quiet for the past week trying to get my head down to sorting out everything for the CCCs. All my paperwork has gone off to them now and i have sent a few token payments out. i spoke to cccs yesterday and the lady said they are sending out details to all creditors for the DMP and it will start tomorrow. I haven't had any paper work from CCCs yet so have to waitfor the payment dslip to make first payment.
Had letters from LLOyds cc and Tesco cc saying they will default i f no payment made. Lloyds laon asking me to set up new direct debit as i cancelled the one in my LLoyds account and they will add charges if i don't. The lady at CCCs said not to worry about contacting any Lloyds debts yet as they are sending out the paperwork to them anyway.
Think i got a problem with GE money Asda cc though. Just had a phone call from them saying they have not had this months payment and would i pay now. I said no and gave them the CCCS ref number and told them they would hear from CCCCs soon about a DMP. They said as i had used my card on the 28th of last month it was within the past 90 days and they would NOT accept any agreement from CCCS because i had used the card recently. Anyone got any ideas whats will happen.
I will look in tonight to see if anyone has any advice
Bye for now0 -
Hi Lostalot,
GE Money were my worst creditor (except Lloyds on my Overdraft who I'm still battling with), they were the most threatening in the letters and terrible on the phone. But it's not all doom and gloom. I have 6 accounts with them and after 2 months, I have now had interest stopped and payments accepted on 4 of them. So hang in there.
I suggest that you only deal with them in writing. My 2 experiences on the phone with them were 1 person was very aggressive the other just read from a script and repeatedly asked me for a debit card number (I don't have one so they were onto a loser on that!)
I too had used one of my cards within 90 days of starting my DMP and it was sorted eventually. They are just trying to persuade you to pay.LBM : March 2008
