I will mention it to CCCS tomorrow when they phone me for a review, how Crap One are trying to get people to ring them so they can try and bully us into paying more.
Oh and my first CCA will be on it`s way to Crap One,if they want to play silly beggers then so will I.

  • Anyone got a good template letter for sending token payments & about to start a DMP with CCCS & please don't charge any more interest?

I thought I saw one on this thread but I'll be bu**ered if I can find it now.

I've got a bunch of postal orders ready to go....

    Ta
    Anyone?

    Where is everybody?
  • takeittothelimit - regarding Crap One (love that by the way), they agreed ages ago to our payment plan, though Payplan and we had a statement on Friday to say they would not add any further interest/charges whilst we continued to pay them each month under the plan.

Today we received the same letter as you, stating they would continue to add interest/charges and sorry for any confusion this may have caused (confusion was not the emotion we felt!)

OH rang Crap One who said Payplan had not set up a plan with them ??????????????? despite the fact they have had two payments and agreed to the blinkin' plan!!!!!

OH rang Payplan who said they think Crap One may have a problem with their system and the letters may have been sent in error. They said they would phone Crap One and email us the result. We haven't heard anything yet but I will keep you posted.

If this is not an error, I will be taking it further as I think rayday could be right in that they are breaking some guideline or other.

Andy, I can only suggest you look at the template letters on the National Debtline website. Hopefully someone will be along soon.

    :)

The main bones of this I took from National Debtline letter but added a bit about token payments.

We are writing to inform you that we are seeking advice and assistance regarding our current financial
    difficulties.
To this end, we would appreciate if you could hold any action on the above account for a period of at least 28 days. In the meanwhile as a jesture of goodwill please accept a token payment of £X.
Also, during this period, could you please freeze interest and/or any other charges accruing on the above account.
We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
    Yours faithfully

I think that was the gist of it but think it said something like "seeking advice from CCCS".

Bit of a namedrop but shows you are going to a proper company - plus if you have a client reference from CCCS you can quote that - then they can contact CCCS instead of you ;)

  • Hi Everyone

It feels like an eternity since I requested the DMP pack via CCCS - does it usually take a while to come through?

Thanks for that draft letter - I'm going to use that too as hubby gets paid tomorrow and we need to send token payments off in the meantime while we get things sorted with CCCS.

Just to mess things up a little, a letter came through for hubby yesterday from Westcot (?) for an outstanding O2 phone contract that he had. Now I hadnt known about that and havent included it on our list of creditors when I completed the information with CCCS. Will we still be able to include this - although I guess that means there wont be as much to share out between the creditors as they would have to add a new one to the list. Of course they are threatening all sorts but I'm just planning on sending them a token payment too.

Another worry is that I have only recently gone through our income and expenditure with the Inland Revenue in relation to an overpayment of tax credits. They agreed to set up a plan at £10 per month starting May. Does anyone know what will happen with this - can they still get their £10's worth out of what money there is? I included it in the list of creditors because it is a debt but as it's the Inland Revenue, I dont know if they have more powers than any of the other creditors?

Thanks guys and gals - I did warn you that I would be needing all the support I could get :D

Just let CCCS know about the Wescott one and don't worry too much Wescott are pretty good at accepting payments.

As for the Inland Revenue I have no idea. We are paying back an overpayment from the first year it was set up and it just comes out as a reduction in what we get from them - so sorry no idea!
