Well its not strop I put the phone down in tears!
From what I have read here, that's not you at all!
The same woman who chases off CC companies and bullies banks into sending her cases of wine is not the one who crys when a petty beaurocrat decides to play silly beggars.
Apply your DMP head to this problem. Write to the head of the college complaining you are getting conflicting and confusing 'advice' and all you want is to do the course which will allow you to do a worthwhile and useful job. See where that gets you.
Have you tried the learn direct service for advice? They might help. Teaching unions too.

Courtesy car will have to be paid for somehow... probably on an mot fee which is not too well discounted. If you have a booked appointment, just turn up at the time and wait for it to be done if you have the time.
Number plate. Again, shop around. Halfords is a cert though. You will need documentation with you. Vehicle log book to prove that you own the car, proof of your ID and address too. It's not the shop being fussy. It's the law.
Thanks very much for the tips - actually OH did offer to check the bulbs (I'd forgotten) So did offer to do something towards it
Will check screen wash etc too - know this is law when driving anyway
I knew I needed log book as Dad said that's why he couldn't do that one for me (have been meaning to do it for about 6 months - plate is cracked but still there) so thanks, Halfords just near work so as soon as I'm paid I'll swing by there with a filing cabinet full of proof of address/ownership etc
For the MOT do I need the last MOT cert? Anything else? It had an advisories note (all been done) - do I need to bring that too?
Sorry guess this may not really be the right thread but don't want to start a "I'm a numpty who's never taken a car for an MOT in 14 years of driving" threadworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Chin up.
I know I sound pathetic! I guess I never realised how much it meant to me until now.
I am waiting on the other woman for the course to see what she says, I pretty much think I spoke to her on the open day and she was the one who didn't see the point in me doing a level 2 again. Now I am getting mad after upset I was mentally penning that letter because where I see it I am not failing they are - just because they are not running the level 2 course they are trying to fit me in somewhere else.
I did look at the Uni angle but its not workable my childrens education is more important and I cannot disrupt the family that much (I live in a small town and any university town is too far away)
I have looked at a neighbouring towns courses and one runs a level 2 Teaching Assistant course on a wed morning at a college fairly near to where my hubby works. So if I found a childminder for one morning a week this is possible - annoying and less convient but its worth it for a year.
But I still feel its all not fair! Will wait to see what next advisor says and hopefully tie the college up in knots for that letter! Because that level 3 in my hometown is still the most ideal!
Thank you for your time0 -

The old mot is not needed but it will help them filling out the new one. Also, if you get the mot done before the other one expires, it allows them to put the later expiry date on it. Did that make sense? I know what I mean....
Example.
You got an mot on 30th April last year, it will expire on 30th april this year.
If you get an mot today it would expire on 24 April next year BUT If you take the old mot with you, then your new mot will expire 30 april next year.
Don't think you need any other paperwork.0 -

Rayday, I always get into a tizz and cry if I get frustrated by people telling me different stories, changing the goal posts or simply not helping. I cry if I get really really angry too - which was this morning with OH (not even nearly the first time). I cried (from anger) when the catalogue were losing my payments and then refusing to speak to me about it!
In fact I was crying on the phone to CCCS today about not having money for the MOT  Poor chap who answered was ever so nice
Just take a step back and breathe, then work out what you can do (get written confirmation what course you should do) etc. Sorry can't give much more advice as I don't know about all these courses.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Martin did do a cost cutting thing if you live in a city about MOT testing stations that are cheaper that are used for government fleet vehicles or somethign but have to open up to the public. Not sure if you have looked into that.0

I think it was the frustration of it all - I hate things out of my control - I am back in driving seat again.
Although probably got hubby in right bad books now he rang and kept telling me I had to do it (in a supportive way!) but I have my daughter off school with strike and I was getting upset so put the phone down before she realised how upset I was - that will keep the UN peace keeping force in business :rotfl:0 -
If she recommended a TA job, did she mean the Territorial Army?
