Had a good but strange result. Long story, bear with me....
I've been doing the online budget wotsit with CCCS and it all looked just about doable and then I had a conversation with them.
I have a NR mortgage with an attached personal loan and I had just lumped that all together as the mortgage payment. It has 18 or so years to run.
When I spoke to CCCS, they said that the unsecured part of the NR loan HAD to come into the DMP or other creditors will get upset and also tarnish the reputation of CCCS. Fair enough, I understand.
Here's the twist.....
Bringing the unsecured NR in with the rest of my creditors and apportioning my funds out to them, they now get about 55 quid MORE than the contractual payment and everyone else gets a bit less. Best news is that the NR loan allows overpayments.
Ho hum!0 -
Thats pro rata for you!

Ho hum!
How does that work then? I thought that my NR loan would work out that way, as the contractual payments are quite low, but CCCS told me that you would NEVER pay an amount equal to or more than the contractual payment on the DMP and surely if they are getting more than their fare share it is not fair on the other creditors and they could still kick off?
PS Not wanting to rain on your parade by the way, but having a bit of a rayday child feet stamping, it's not fair moment! If my payments had been worked out that way then I wouldn't be facing a charging order! But actually as I type I think I've just sussed the difference between us - you are presumably paying the same rate as your mortgage, whilst mine is 10.49% so the payments are that much higher - I think they would be at least 1/3rd less if I was on normal mortgage rate - that's probably why your payment has worked out differently.0 -

You just joined member no 182!
My biggest tip is to take one day at a time and try not to worry too far ahead.
My DFD was 34 years but probably less than that now - but its not important to me, being able to live day to day and afford food etc is a blessing and if it takes a while to be free of debt so be it I have a better lifestyle now than I did with credit lines open.
You have any specific worries just shout or type usually there is someone around who will know or support!0
