Thing is it is so frustrating, I laugh about it but you have choices laugh or cry. This last letter yes we will take it for 6 months and we will send you a payment book is like yes and yes again snap hand off.

Response to increase credit cards was a big fat no, and will continue to seek monies back - how? And today I recieve a statement of one of the credit cards no interest added and expecting a minimum payment of £5.

    Where is the common sense?

So huge Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! They are such muppets!

And just to add I checked the balance printed on the overdraft letter compared to my spreadsheet and there is £30 difference I owe less - that I will not argue with and that is my new figure to work with.

Shows you just how incompetant they are though! They are a bank there spreadsheets should be better than mine!

 I've done it - I've sent the forms off to Payplan. I don't know whether to be nervous, scared or relieved now - bit of everything I suppose at the moment.

I've already spoken to some of my creditors - MBNA were OK about it at the time, BOS said they won't be happy with whatever they're offered. They said they could reschedule my payments but it would still be a lot - they'd stop the interest that way but not with Payplan yet they'd still get their money from Payplan, eventually  Oh well! I have letters and token payments ready for them all, to send out today, so I guess I have to sit and wait for Payplan to get the ball rolling now?

My only concern is I haven't moved all my DDs over to my new account yet - I'm working on that today and hope they will all be sorted this afternoon. My pay will be going into the new account from next month - I'm thinking I should start to try to reclaim my bank charges after that. I know everything's on hold on that at the moment, but can I still put my claim in?

Wow you sound all organised. Well done!

As for claiming bank charges best to visit the bit of the board that deals with that as I honestly have no idea - up until the start of my DMP I had not had any bank charges like an idiot I was taking off my credit card to prevent them so I cannot claim didly squat back!
  • Good afternoon everyone - hope some of you are managing to enjoy the lovely sunshine (and not sweltering too much in a stuffy office like me  )

Tishywish - well done on completing and returning your forms. Hopefully I wont be far behind you in being able to do that, just waiting for mine to arrive. Its another positive step in the right direction to getting things sorted. I'm just trying to get new bank accounts sorted for me and hubby (separate ones!) and I have decided that I am going to try and reclaim the bank charges I've had over the many years with the Abbey. I know that things are on "hold" in the reclaiming of bank charges but they still say to put a claim in and wait in the queue with the many others. Of course, it could prove pointless depending on the outcome but it's got to be worth a try - just think of all those extra pennies that you could have to repay your other debts and get to your DFD much quicker. On my list of things "to do" today is to investigate more about the reclaiming and I'm going to ask for my last 6 years statements while I'm still with the Abbey at the moment. In a couple of months' time hopefully I will have my new account all set up and then I will lodge my claim against the Abbey - I wont be banking with them anymore anyway, so I figure "why not" . So, I would say "go for it :D " EDITED: Oh, Tishywish, I have just had a look at the latest news. A decision is due Thursday (tomorrow) so we are probably best waiting to see what the result is. Hopefully it will be in our favour and, if so, I will gladly embark on the journey with you. I've already prepared and sent my mum's claim a while ago (couldnt face attempting to do one for me at the same time) so her's in a queue somewhere, which means I have an idea of what and how to do it so I would be happy to help you along with yours if we find we are able to claim them back.

Rayday - funny you should mention the darts commentary ... last night after reading this thread and noticing the last number awarded, I suddenly thought "oooh, the next one will be 180" and I even said it to myself in a darts commentary voice (in my head of course, not out loud - I am not alone in hearing voices in my head - am I?!). I wondered if I was quick enough whether I could get that number because it does makes me chuckle :rotfl: . Perhaps that would be a good sign for the future ... being able to have a chuckle with a DMP number :D

I think I'm a bit obsessed at the moment with needing a change of luck because I dared not walk past a shiny penny I saw lying on the floor this morning - I didnt care that people were watching me either (well, I did, but I'm a penny richer than I was when I woke up this morning :D ).

I am wondering next time this thread gets too big that we have to support group 4 do you think under the main members list on page one it would be handy to have some template letters or advice etc?

If so anyone have any ideas? Or things they found the most helpful?

(Just to make it easier if I do it)

    What Whoopie said:

There is so much useful information flying around on this thread, thank goodness for it all and thank you to those who provide it. Also, the National Debtline website is a gem so I would recommend everyone to take a look as there is a wealth of information and template letters (that can be tweaked to your requirements).

Isn't it strange how our creditors treat us differently. We have had no problems with Barclaycard but MBNA and Lloyds are being a nightmare. And, it appears that those we owe the less to are making the most noise!

    Hi Rayday

I'm not very technical minded but would you need your own "board" to be able to have stickies at the top? I was thinking that it would be useful to have a quick reference place for each of the different charities, ie CCCS / Payplan / Self Managed DMPs etc so that if you are on a DMP with a particular one, you could go to that "thread" with specific questions about how the DMPs are managed? Then we could have our general support thread - does that make sense

Hello everyone since my post of earlier this morning, ive thanked you all, you will see lol

thanks especially to Rayday, you are a very special person and keeping to your word as you have done with the info on the letters you have provided here above for us all.

I was thinking along the same line as you all, we may need a specific thread to show the different letters and info used by us all that do our own dmp and for those to guide those under payplan , cccs etc.

not technically minded niether but willing to learn and update where i can.

it does seem that we are all being treated differently by different creditors.

Ive forget to say earlier ive paid all mine today but ive cca the mbna and mbna virgin as they have rma and global vantedge on my back now, but i feel i should give them the appropiate 12 days and plus the 30 to send me the cca first before i stop payments to them, and put those accounts into dispute.

I guess we all have different questions at different times thus a thread would show us help at different intervals we are all at and try and learn from each other.

So im up for it whatever we decide to do, im happy to do my bit.

I will look at the letters provided and get my letters off and will keep copies of course to update here for anyone who asks

Thank you all again, we are in this gang so we must keep our morals up and share our moments of anguish and also of joy

Keep happy and i will check in later this evening
    ciao for now MAZ

  • ... I've just remembered what I meant. I mean can DMP have a "sub-board" similar to the way that BR has one within the DFW section?

I knew the penny would drop eventually (but not the shiny penny that I have tucked away in my pocket, that's nice and safe :rotfl: )

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi All,

Well, some good news at last. 2 months in and Lloyds Credit Card, Egg, HFC, Littlewoods, Barclaycard and Capital One have all accepted my DMP according to Payplan. :D

Still getting loads of hassle off GE Money though and Lloyds for my Overdraft.

Still, it seems like things are starting to settle - I'm hanging in there not taking calls anymore (they've had ample opportunity to speak to me sensibly and haven't taken it) and seeing what happens. So far GE Money are the only ones to get really heavy and threaten legal action. Quite happy if they do as I don't have my own home, so they can't get a charging order.

Just relieved that most of my creditors now seem to be accepting.

Going to my friends for the weekend so no more post to worry about until monday :T

Glad things are settling down for you Tigert.....I'm coming up to 4mths into DMP with Payplan........huge debts....£54,000....all but 2 of my creditors have accepted they are Citi financial and Citi cards......Citi cards have sold debt to 1st Credit who have been a nightmare...they won't accept offer and are now threatening legal action...like you we do not own our own home.....do you think that legal action will mean going for a CCJ?
